Lovely park, clean, quiet, well-managed and maintained. Electricity and water pressure are excellent. Verizon coverage is excellent, sites are shaded by well-trimmed, mature trees (trees which may require you to "space" your slides) but we received a dozen or more OTA television channels. The entrance to the campground is in a deep curve; you might want to time your entrance and exit. Nice folks live and work here. We were in for an over-night and will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park provides outstanding value for the money (especially with a Passport America pass). The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our site was level. The restrooms were clean, although a bit rustic and tired looking. The washroom stalls were a bit small. We did not see a lot of amenities, but we don't usually use them anyway, so it didn't matter to us. We did not have cable, but the air reception was good. The park was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We had a pull thru, and had great wifi here. The man who checked us in , also helped us by putting our boards under the tires for us. The site isn't the most level. We are just here for 1 night. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We never unhooked, so not sure what there is to do in this area. It is a perfect park to just stop for the night. Not too far off the I 40, but no noise.

We arrived during torrential rains. Lots of mud. Many permanents, but generally well cared for. People were friendly. Great laundry. Clean, newer machines. Far enough from highway for no noise. No dogs running around. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

I reserved over the phone and told the male staff member twice that we needed 50 amps, a pull-through, and that we were a big rig towing. He told us twice that he had a spot for us. When we got there, he tried to give us a back in with 30 amps. Felt like a bait and switch. The road entering the park is narrow and winding with low tree branches. The interior roads are narrow with very tight turns. And the sites are not big rig friendly. If you're longer than 60' including a tow car, go to another park. It's an older park with lots of long term residents. WiFi was free but weak. The sewer hook up was way in the back next to our toad. It's convenient to I-40. The sites are just too tight and small for us. We won't return. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived late in evening and the manager met us. He guided us to our spot and helped align us. The night we stayed was very restful. The next day I walked around the grounds. The managers do a great job! It's quiet and there are some folks who reside there year around. The park is clean, everyone I met was friendly. The neighborhood is beautiful. Well worth the price . I would gladly come again just to visit the folks there. We will be back again!!! We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 1 night driving West on I-40 with a 40ft RV with jeep tow. 50 amp was availiable per the attendee if he ran a power cord to our site. Unsure of amperage of other sites. We just bared down and used 30 amp. Was only for overnight stay.

The navigation of the very tight rv park roads leaving, was our only reason why we would not use again. Friendly people and nice shady, quiet park. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

First and foremost, this is a work camp. Mostly long term residents. The owner does keep a few spots for overnighters. Best to call and check. Don't assume. Owner lives on site. He was very conscientious opening the office for us when we came in a little late. He made sure we were situated and comfortable.

There are two virtually new washers and dryers. Clean, quick and effective for a good price. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our 2nd stay at Tanbark. We like it because it's convenient, clean, and comfortable. We arrived late and left early. We needed a place to rest and this filled the bill. It did exactly want we needed it to do. Very good service. The park has expanded. The dog walk area which used to be an open field is well mowed. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

Two 50 amps, one gravel, one paved. We got the paved. Pulled in and chatted with Curtis, friendly helpful staff. Had to park our car behind us on the far side of the road but it is nice weather so we didn't mind. We could reach out and touch the neighbors that pulled in a short while later but we have privacy shades so no problem. Not a destination park but Passport America price was reasonable for our two night stay, the park and restrooms are old but clean and the permanent residents keep their areas neat. We would stay again. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice campground. Spaces kinda tight but doable. First night we couldn't get our satellite to work because of the trees but the manager helped us move to another spot the next morning. If you're looking for a fancy resort keep ongoing but if you're looking for overnight or a couple of nights to relax with some nice folks this is your place. We will stay here again when in the area. Convenient to the highway and nice residents in the park. That's all I have nice to say. Sites are extreeeemly tight. We have a 40 ft and had to back out because the resident next to us had a permanently set flag pole making it impossible to turn on the front side. They should recommend this park only for very small recreational vehicles. Ideal for van or small trailer looking to save money and have a quiet place for the night. Beware. They only accept cash. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are very close together and we had some problems setting up. I guess that this would be okay for a quick nights stay. But I would rather have larger site. We have a large 5th wheel and it was extremely tight getting our camper into the site and then out the next morning. We do not expect to stay there again. Sites were muddy. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Older park, definitely built for 8' rigs before slide outs. Tightest we've been in quite some time. Sites quite unlevel, water pressure about 40 psi, and only two 50 amp sites (and in one site the cord is laying across the site from the junction box). Sewage all the way to the rear of the sites. Counted at least three couples who are allowed to let their dogs throughout the park off leash. Not a good experience, can't imagine trying to get in here after dark. Rate is with a Passport America rate. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park. Arrived late in the fog and owner let me check in the next morning. Wide pull-thorough and easy hookups. Easy access from interstate 40, short drive. We camped at Tanbark Campground in a Motorhome.
