Limped in here with a coach chassis battery charging issue. (Called the RV service guy Neal, which the park recommended. He was great, and got us all fixed up the next day. And it was NO easy job.) Park people were eager to help and boosted us to restart the coach to get to our site. I swear, they would have towed it or pushed if need be. You could not find kinder or more helpful people. After a long and difficult day, that warm southern hospitality was medicine for the soul. Smaller park, mostly gravel sites, reasonably level. Park is very well maintained. WiFi is good near the office, but you will need a booster if you are farther away. Music and food provided most nights at the office/restaurant. Near a rail line and busy road, but surprisingly not too noisy. Owing to the size and location of the park, reservations are strongly recommended. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This has to be owned and run by the best people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in all my years or camping. The roads in the campground are gravel, some sites are back to back, some sites are shared hookups, but not a problem, plenty of room for slide outs. But the best part of the campground are the people! We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This RV park is a multi-generational family-owned facility. It is sandwiched between a very active railroad track and a major arterial road off of the 65 about 25 minutes from downtown Nashville. Sites are close together with some at very strange angles to their neighbors. Our mostly level gravel pull through spot was at the front of the park. The site was extra long and the escort staggered parking the four sites so that each rig was far enough from its neighbor to keep you from looking directly in their windows. Electric and sewer are well-placed and easy to use. Water pressure was about 35 PSI. We were able to get 26 channels OTA and Verizon and Sprint had excellent coverage. The office and market were the gathering place for the park. Four to five nights a week they have live music either inside the market or outside on the large covered porch. There is a small restaurant within the market but we did not try the food. The laundry facility is also in the main building with washers at $2 a load. There is no designated dog area but there are large open green grass areas on the front and side of the park. There is a city-owned dog park which was lovely at the very large Moss Wright Park a few minutes drive from the park. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and are definitely the best part of this park. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Because parking can be a problem we took Uber in on a Friday night for the performance at the Grand Ole Opry. A Gray Line van was picking people up at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. performance in front of the office. We did not know this was available but my understanding is you can schedule it at the office. The Greenbrier Distillery is located near the Marathon shopping area and was a fun stop. On Sunday morning when we went into town we were able to park at the public library parking garage for $6.

I wanted to give this park higher marks but we were disappointed somewhat in our three night stay. First of all, the location is great, the staff is super nice and friendly and the overall appearance of the campground was pretty good, albeit a little tight for some rigs. Our problem was that we were placed on the "outer rim" that ran along the railroad tracks. Speeding trains ran this route about every 1/2 hour (sometimes even more than that). We were placed in a section of permanents (mostly construction workers) and their sites weren't exactly too organized. Because the railroad tracks are higher (much higher) than the campsites, we only got one channel (CBS) and when the trains went by, we even lost the signal to that. Wifi was non-existent for us. The train noise really didn't bother me that much, just no TV. I would like to try this campground again, but I'd have to know that I had a site far away from the railroad. Price was good and staff was very nice. If my next stay is better, I'll be happy to give it higher marks. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Roads into the park are easy to navigate; some of the turns in the park are a little tight. Check in was fast and friendly. They have a small store on site. They have just over 100 sites, most back-ins with a few pull-throughs. A lot of them are full timers, and some are not kept up very well. We were in Site 38, a gravel pull-thru with full hook-ups and 50 amp electric. No issues with the hook-ups. The site is very narrow but long enough for our 37-foot Class A, tow-dolly and parking the car.

There is a lot of road noise and a train runs along the back of the park and is rather loud. Not much place to walk the dog. WiFi was poor, laundry room was okay. Verizon signal was strong. We stayed November 8 -10, 2017 and paid 35.50 a night with a military discount. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is a good alternative to the high priced campgrounds closer to the Nashville attractions. The staff was very cordial and offered to help us set up, and they helped us find things to see and do in Nashville the next day. They offer live music 4 nights a week and a limited menu kitchen. Sites are gravel any most are fairly level, but are very close together. One downside to this park is the train tracks that run along the rear of the grounds, literally 150 feet from the door of my RV. We counted at least 7 trains each day we were there. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Upon check in, they have someone guide you to your site, our guide then offered to help me get connected. The interior roads and sites were gravel, with picnic table. All the connections were easy to locate and easy to get connected. The employees were pleasant and helpful. We were here for one night, and they were having a cook out and live music, for Labor Day. Satellite TV and AT&T cell service worked well. Our OTA antenna is out, so don't know about live TV. The Wi-Fi, like most places, worked well, until it started rain, so we switched to our AT&T hotspots, which worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I don't know what a park should have to call itself a resort, but I would not use this term here ... retreat perhaps. But it is not always the facilities that make a park, it is its people and that is where this park shines. Live entertainment, helpful, friendly people. Adequate FHU sites, albeit it a bit close. I'll stay here again every time I'm in the area. The park had been flooded by a freak storm 2 days before we got there, with several feet of water that flooded several RVs, but if it weren't for the high water traces on the travel trailers that weren't able to be moved, you'd have never known it. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sept 2017 Friendly helpful staff, guided to site and even helped unhook toad in the rain! Between the railway and the highway, but only a couple of trains during the night, close to Nashville but without the Nashville inflated prices. Pros: 1.) It's not $100 a night, like so many parks near Nashville. This is a big deal, especially if you're just passing through. I don't need to pay to be close to an attraction or a lake when I'm staying a total of 16 hours. 2.) The staff is super nice, friendly, and helpful. 3.) The connections are good, appear to be fairly new, are well placed, and work well. 50 and 30 amp electric are available ($2 upcharge for 50 amp), water and sewer 4.) The sites are generally level. Cons: 1.) There is a railroad track on one side of the park and a major highway on the other. Yes, the train was blowing its horn the night we stayed. This was a huge problem for my wife and would be the only real reason we may not return. 2.) The park's layout is very haphazard. One site may be one direction, the next 2 another, then it changes again. Each site seems to have a unique approach. (They do escort you to the site, so it's not a concern, it's just odd looking.) 3.) While we appreciate the level sites, it would be really nice if they concreted just a few pull-thru sites and offered them at a premium for those of us in big rigs just needing an overnight. 4.) I didn't see a site that you could realistically pull thru without disconnecting first. 5.) Many of the sites are short and either back in or pull in, so I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. We saw some difficult set ups because of this. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park was well kept. It's almost like two separate parks together. The interior is roomy with large grassy areas around the camp sites, and the other part is an outer ring of sites that are jammed packed with rigs. They stack them in that outer ring like cord wood with your neighbor sitting just feet away from your front door. We were in that outer ring, but used the park as staging for outside activities so it didn't matter to us. If you want spacious open camping be sure to reserve the interior areas. The outer ring is really crowded. Being self contained we did not use the park facilities. Evenings there is live music on a patio out behind the main building. The park is comfortable and pet friendly. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a family-and-close-friends-run RV park. Without a doubt, these are the nicest, most helpful people we have met in our many years of traveling. We had a problem and, literally, everyone jumped in to provide help and solutions. For this reason, we would stay ONLY at this park when in the Nashville area. Now for the info re: the park itself: Much less expensive than the other Nashville parks. While slightly further out of town, Grayline comes there for the same price as elsewhere. Sites are level gravel FHU. There is a road on one side and a train on the other, so the middle of the park is the quietest. The internal roads are large and easy to navigate for big rigs. The pull-thru's are near the road so we chose a back-in near the middle of the park. It was easy to get into for a big rig; well designed. They have live entertainment Thurs-Sat. Wifi was weak; not always usable. Sites have grass in between neighbors and picnic tables. We definitely would stay here again when in the Nashville area. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Grayline tours are good and can be obtained at the RV park. Skip the City Tour and instead take the Hop on/Hop off tour; much more informative. Grand Ole Opry is great; don't miss it! Gaylord Opryland (hotel) is very worth seeing; can park in the shopping center for free and walk over. General Jackson steamboat is entertaining. Parking downtown is expensive. Try Uber (RV park has instructions & discount). Very fun!

Nice place to stay near Nashville. Owners and staff are great. On site store and restaurant. Live music several times a week. About 1 mile from I-65 so good place to stop. There is train noise if that bothers you. Level gravel pull thru and back in full hookup 30/50 amp sites. Good WIFI and cell service with many local channels if you get behind a tree as we did. Will stay here again! We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The staff are excellent and very helpful. The park is laid out a bit odd, but it seems to work OK. There are LOTS of trains very close to the campground, so you hear them often. The sites vary, but most are fairly level and graveled. The only area to walk a dog is out by the main entrance, but you can walk them anywhere in the park. Good electric and water connections, it was nearly 100 degrees when we camped there and never had any problems with utilities. They have live music several days of the week and you can get a tour bus into Nashville. Cost to stay here was less than half of the places on Music Row and I felt it was just as nice...with better staff. We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Motorhome.
