Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00

This campground is small and full of trees which appeal to us. Although the pool was closed since we were there in October, the pool appears to be of a good size well-maintained. The campground has a small lounge with a pool table which can also be used for table tennis. There is a large stone fireplace in there as well. There are two washers and dryers for camper use. For children there is a small swing set as well as tether ball, basketball and a volleyball net. Many of the campsites are pull-throughs. The campground has a new owner, and it is obvious he is intent on restoring the campground facilities. The campground is very close to the town of Granville, and we walked into town most days. During the time we were camping, Granville celebrated their Fall Festival which was wonderful. Every Saturday night the town hosts the Sutton Ole Time Music hour as well as a family-style dinner. If we lived closer, we definitely would plan weekend camping trips at Made In The Shade regularly. We stayed in a full-service site with our two dogs for 8 days at the beginning of October. There was plenty of room to put up our screen room in front of the RV. One alert: Made in the Shade welcomes hunters, so if that offends you, this might not be the place for you. On the other hand, the owner is very accommodating about assigning campsites. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to enjoy the Granville area. The museums, gift shop, and general store are only open some days of the week. If you like Blue Grass, plant to be there over the weekend.

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $20.00

Our experience at the park was great. The owner met us outside to help get us parked. The sites were level and shaded. The Wifi was sufficient so we were happy with it although this might not be the case if there were more people in the park who were using wifi. I had a number of conversations with the Austrian born owner who had just bought the park within the previous 2 weeks. He had been a farmer and a restaurant owner and also an RV traveler so we had lost to talk about.

The only things that you should be aware of about this site, it is 10 miles off the interstate and the route from the east goes up and down some pretty steep hills on country roads. You may want to call ahead for the best route from your direction. We made it fine with our diesel pickup pulling a 35 foot fifth wheel. But these are not the roads I would generally chose to navigate. We like to put up the bat wing antenna and watch some TV and this wasn't possible here. Also we had to pay in cash although that may have to do with our Passport America rate. All in all we would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 nights. Facility not kept up -Trash not emptied, bathrooms old and buggy, ground needed hay or more grass. Pool closed at 5:30 PM and could not have drinks, chairs, or food in pool area. We felt micromanaged and our kids were yelled at for not turning off lights. No fires at individual sites. The walk to lake was short but not kept up, very small area and you could not swim there. The walk to city was short and it was very unique. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A charming small RV park, minutes walk from a river, under large trees. Owner a perfect example of Southern Hospitality. Enjoy a fire in the beautiful fireplace of the recreation room while playing pool, on chilly nights. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were looking for a quiet fall get away spot and found exactly that at Made In The Shade RV Park. The owner went out of his way to help us with set up and information about nearby attractions and fishing. We enjoyed the fire each night in the pavillions stone fireplace and the camaraderie there. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Owner does everything to make sure you are comfortable. Small park, but adequate. Be prepared that there is NO cell signal in that area at all. Campground did have great wi-fi, however. We would return. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campsite is nicely shaded with plenty of elbow room. The owner, is very friendly and willing to help if needed. His onsite store has pretty much everything you'd need or want if you don't feel like finding a grocery store - and the prices are very competitive. On Saturdays there is sometimes music at the pavilion, ends around 9 pm, otherwise the park is very quiet. There is also a little cafe within walking distance, and the Marina is just down the road. It is a very nice place and I highly recommend it. Our price reflects a Passport America discount. We stayed for a month. We camped at Made in the Shade RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
