We've stayed here twice and enjoy spending some time here when we are in the area. Roads & sites are paved and level. Staff is very friendly. There's a lot to do. We love the paved walking trails in the park that winds around the pool and along the lake. We were going to rent a boat or stand up paddleboard(s) this trip but got so busy touring Knoxville and surrounding areas we didn't get to it this time. I enjoy a glass of wine at the pavilion when the sun is setting and from our site as we had a water view. We noticed the grass needed cutting but perhaps it was due to the rain in the area lately. The trash bins were located a long way from our site. Seems the park is popular as it was larger than last year when we stayed and there are more sites being built. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 4 nights. Grass was not mowed. Internet not able to use. Too many permant residence . Very junky. Concrete pads. Very small space. Paved roads. Walking paved trails. It was quite. I will not be coming back. I had no idea there this many permanent residences. Should have checked further. Extremely difficult to find the entrance on the main road and mapquest was totally wrong. No signs when you come in to even tell you what or where to go. I stayed here in my 40'motor home. With a car. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have been staying at this Park at least once a year for at least five years. Care of park is deteriorating. Common areas are not mowed and dead trees not removed. Park allows annual renters to put up all types of additions to their sites. Park is starting to look junky. We were crammed in by a dumpster with a 43' Motorhome and tow vehicle while two pull thru sites were only rented for two days the entire week we were there. We had to put out safety cones because the back of our Motorhome hung out over road. The woman in the office didn't care. We were told the people who spent 2-days in pull the pull thru sites made their reservations before the ones we made in March, 2017. They are adding new sites that are so crammed together, it is apparent that the park owners are only interested in the revenue they can collect from locals who want to park their 5th wheels there for the summer season. Definitely not worth the price. Will probably not go back. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park in in a beautiful setting mostly long term. Put us in a site that we had a lot of trouble getting into because there was a light pole, and a couple of other poles where the truck needed to be when backing in . We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park on Watts Bar Lake. Great place to rent a boat and keep it at the dock just steps away from your campsite. Great pool, clean facilities. The majority of the campers are long term or even permanent residences but most all campers, trailers, or motor homes are reasonably well kept. I think many are over 10 years old so they must not enforce that rule. Close to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping. Very convenient to I-40. We enjoyed our stay at Caney Creek. I have lived here for two years. During that time, the facilities, including the laundry room, grounds and restrooms have been maintained well. I have not used the pool or any of the play ground areas. The management works very hard to assists it residents, be they short term or long term like me, to meet their goals. I readily recommend this facility as the nicest in the area and off the interstate far enough to allow for quiet living. The lake is beautiful and draws people most of the year. I should add that there are two loops on the lake and one that is farther away from the activity for those that want a quieter place. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The location is approximately 25 miles from Turkey Creek which provides many stores. There are two towns between here and their that provide additional shopping and research for those interested.

To echo the previous review on this facility, it was very nice. Office staff and camp hosts were so friendly and helpful. Wish I could have joined them for coffee and chatted - really good people. We will return. We were here late September so not a whole lot of activity. Pool was closed, which was not an issue for us. Our site was out on the end of B Loop so our RV backed up to the water which was great. They seem to have a lot of rules but not all are strictly enforced as was mentioned in a previous post. There was a Class A that was clearly more than 10 years old and was covered with mold/mildew on at least one side. Vast majority of RV's were in good shape although some may have exceeded the 10 year age requirement - no biggie. They also say no storage is allowed under RV's - many RV's had a lot of items stored under them. I'd say the majority of sites were seasonal, which is fine as they are well kept and the people are super friendly. All that being said, this is a very nice and scenic park that is well taken care of. We hope to return around the same time next year. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a weekend while visiting the Knoxville area. Booked a long pull thru site just across from pool and playground, site was perfectly level and had lots of space for toad. Pool area was great since it was a hot weekend. I have zero complaints about the park, it seemed new, was quiet and sites seemed to have nice spacing. Lots of seasonal campers which isn't a bad thing. It's a bit of a drive from Knoxville out to here, so plan accordingly if using Caney Creek as a base camp for Knoxville adventures. First all this is a beautifully maintained park. The bathrooms, pool and recreation area as well as the main office and grounds are all well maintained and new. The staff was very nice and they do ask a lot of questions about you and your rig to make sure it meets their min requirements such as age and condition. They also ask about you animals if any as well. With that said I think it is also worth pointing out that the spacing of the sites are VERY close to each other and there is little if any shade or foliage between the spots which makes you feel even closer.

There are a lot of campers here that seem to bring a lot of "stuff" with them. I walked the park several times during my visit and I believe that many of these people live here or keep their RV here full time. I noted many of the sites are over running with all the camping accessories they bring. One site has no less than 6 large Propane bottles while others have 2-3 motorcycles wedged into the tiny site. I also saw many sites using eazyup canopies, storing large items such as kayaks, multiple bicycles, and there are golf carts everywhere. Most of the golf carts are jacked up with big wheels and feature a full stereo system so they can listen to music as they ride around the various cart paths. Since the sites are so close to each other and the drive ways so short it is difficult for many of the campers to store their stuff on site so the cars are twisted in at various angles to fit on their site. The park offers ample off site storage for boat trailers, sea doo trailers and it is usually at least partially full.

The RV parking sites are also very narrow meaning that you rig will fit but often you walk in and out of the unit on to the ground because the concrete doesn't extend far enough for you to walk on to.
I don't want to sound too negative with the comments above because some of these things are just a function of a family style campground as opposed to a "Motorhome Resort". We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice RV resort located on Watts Bar Lake. They have a gated entry with a code which you will receive at check in. Note: They say they have a 10 year age restriction and that if yours was older they may want pics. The host was super nice and helpful. We arrived without a reservation the day before Memorial Day so they were quite busy but she found us a spot that worked.
They have around 100 sites with a few pull throughs. Ours was a back-in site on the main road. It was mostly level. There is a good bit of traffic coming in and out of the cg. Mature
A cart path lines most of the cg which is great for exercising. 2 docks are available for renting space to keep your boat. Nice pavilion and playgrounds as well. Clean bathrooms. Large swimming pool located right next to the lake
The cg was quite full and we walked the entire thing. All of the rv's were well kept but there were definitely a few that were way older than 10 years so not sure how strict they are with the age limit.
It seems like a fun, relaxed place. Did not get a snooty vibe. We only stayed 1 night passing through 5/24/15 but will definitely plan to return and spend more time.

Wifi worked great. They block you from streaming. They also have cable. 05/2015. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here a few times with mixed results. Our last stay started bad and kept getting worse by the minute. From the cold, brash encounter at check in to the campsite smelling foul from all of the goose droppings it was no good. Think you see lightning out your window? No, that's the florescent bulbs on the power poles violently flickering. Just all around poor maintenance and considering this place is pricey, why? We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.

We were just passing through the area on our way home and stayed for a single night and my wife's first comment was: "I would love to spend more time here!" We loved just about everything about this park. Staff was extremely friendly, park has some great views of the lake, well kept up and everyone seemed to keep up their areas very well. We definitely look forward to camping here again in the future. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We intended to stay here 2 nights but liked it so much we stayed as long as we could - 6 nights. Nice location on the lake. Beautiful covered pavilion with tables and rocking chairs overlooking the pool and lake. Wide concrete pads, walkways and good roads. Nice playground. Very clean. Great location for going to Pigeon Forge, Chattanooga, Knoxville and the Smokies. The staff and seasonal RVers made us feel really comfortable. We've been camping about 20 years and this is now our new favorite place. Can't wait to go back. Very easy access to I-81. We camped at Caney Creek RV Resort in a Motorhome.
