This is an easy on/off from I75. Entrance is wide but roads in the park are a bit narrow yet easy to navigate. Our site #28 was at the bottom of the campground with a creek behind it and a drainage ditch off to the driver's side. Meaning, when it rains as it did in buckets one day everything runs down and under your rig to the creek behind. Never flooded, but it was cause for some concern. The office staff is extremely polite and helpful. The campground is well taken care of and clean. The laundry is excellent. Our site was hard packed gravel, reasonably level, all utilities were conveniently located. Site separation was minimal. In our location there was absolutely no shade. OTA channels were good. Verizon phone/internet was good. Were we to stay here again I would ask for a pull through site in the section one through seventeen. We would stay here again. We camped here for a month in a motorhome. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

No free wifi and no cable, but quite a few OTA TV channels. Our site, 45, was level front to back, but required 2 big boards on the "downhill side" to level. We couldn't use the 50 amp power because our cord wasn't long enough for their placement, so we added a 30 amp extension and got a refund for the difference. There are no discounts unless you are an Escapees Member. The site was barely long enough for our 40' fifth wheel and truck, but it looks like sites 31-34 would be the ones to reserve is possible. They close for lunch until 1:30 so we had to wait, but the staff was nice enough. This is an easy on/off I-75 about 11 miles north of Knoxville. Water pressure was good. Sites are fairly close, but there are some trees, just on the wrong side for shade at our site. The next site's water and electric was right outside our door. The place is pretty enough that we would probably return again, unless we found a better park nearby. This park had a slightly better rating than the one about half a mile away. Full hook up with a pull-through is the reason we stayed here. It said they had wifi, but there is a sign in the office that there is no free wifi. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There seem to be a lot of people either staying for a longer term or residents. Park was clean, roads and sites were gravel. Electric was good, water pressure was good and satellite reception was good. Few trees. They have many activities. They need to tidy up a coulple of things. The people next to us were there for some time and they had their 5th wheel stabilizer and nose sticking out in the road on the exit road. They did this to make room to park 2 cars in their spot which made it difficult for us to get out. We had inches to spare getting out and making the turn when you're 60 ft long. 2nd thing is they need to enforce the quiet time rules. When someone cranks up their diesel pusher at the crack of dawn and it runs for just over an hour while they pack up is not acceptable. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Other reviews have rated this park a 4 star. While it was clean, very friendly/helpful people, the sites are minimal. It is the 1st Escapees Rainbow Park we have stayed at but I am rating this based on other independent campgrounds we have been to. Not other Escapees parks. There are some long term people that could stand to clean up their sites to include the backside of the site. It is clean and safe but nothing to get excited about. Reasonably close to Oak Ridge and Knoxville. Sites are level with some grass and trees around. Nice dog park. There is also a nice half mile hike behind the cg and a stream running through and behind the cg. Good book and video library in the office. We would stay again but, in my opinion, it is a 3 star. This park was great for our visit to the area. We stayed two nights, and enjoyed them both. The restrooms were very nice and clean, and we so enjoyed the Thursday night jam session! I would highly suggest this park if you are in the area. It is not too far from the interstate, and our site was very level. Only $17.50 with Escapee Discount so I hate to complain. This is an old campground and the sites are very very close together with really no space to sit outside and enjoy it. I was hoping for more from an Escapee RV park. We stayed only 3 nights to enjoy attractions around the area. We prefer RV parks that offer more of an outdoor living area and a little bit of privacy. The laundry was clean. The greeters were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The activities we saw were geared more toward folks who are much older than us and who live here full time. They seemed to be enjoying the events. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Knoxville is very nearby. Great Museum in Clinton TN called The Green McAdoo Cultural Center and Museum. It tells the compelling story of twelve high school students, who in 1956, braved threats of violence to attend Clinton High School, making it the first desegregated public high school in the South.

Very small park outside of Knoxville. Everything worked fine, site was ok for our 40' 5th wheel, but would be tight for big rigs. Laundry was fine, but small. Showers, restrooms were clean and adequate. Not a "destination" park, but ok for short stay or passing thru. Couple of miles off highway - makes it quiet, tho. Staff was nice. Overall good park. Office helpful. Clean and well maintained. Only complaint with Site 1 was not level at all. One of the worst sites we've had for not being level. To get or motorhome level, one rear tire was jacked into the air. This is an Escapes Park. No other discounts are available. Not much nearby. Close to I75 and good for overnight stays. No Cable or WiFi. Verizon cell service good. Verizon Data: download speed 11.03 Mbps and 2.68 Mbps upload speeds. We would stay here again. Stayed here as an Escapees member. Nice quiet park. Sites are a little tight but not bad. No wifi or cable. We're traveling with friends who are in a 44' motorhome and they had sites big enough to hold them and their tow vehicle. We would stay here again. Overall Rating:

The setting of the park is scenic, in a pretty valley with tree covered ridges on either side. The campground itself is basically a gravel parking lot. Sites are very close to one another with one's neighbor's utilities in your front yard. The grounds are well kept, the rest rooms clean, and there's a nice activity center. The campground hosts a weekly gathering of local musicians who sing and play for a few hours each week. Anyone who plays an acoustical instrument is welcome to join in. Our monthly rate was quite good. The campground hosts traditional Escapees who travel in their RV's full time and also working people who had never heard of Escapees, but joined to get the discount rate as residents of this park. Most everyone is friendly or at least cordial. Because of price, location, and limited sites the park stays pretty busy. My Verizon signal was good. Our satellite TV is via Dish Network. There are plenty of over-the-air TV stations but the primary Dish channels are on the Dish "eastern arc." Honestly, a month was too long for us to be at this park. Had the campsites had a bit more elbow room we would have liked it better but it still would have been longer than we really wanted. I'd return here for a week or maybe two, but that's about it. We camped at Raccoon Valley RV Park - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Fifth Wheel.
