My rate reflects weekly rate. This campground is aged and at least half its sites seem to be permanent campers. Some units have an aluminum carport built over, some just have tarps, lots of stuff around them....I even saw a refrigerator outside one. My site was sloped and narrow. Could not use the picnic table because it sloped so bad....it was also old and moldy. Ladies restroom by the pool was aged but clean. Only 2 shower stalls and very tight. Couldn't get the cable to work but got a lot of channels using my antenna. Office people were very friendly, the park had a free BBQ of pulled pork, cold salads and beans. Guests were requested to bring a dessert. Very nice. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in Knoxville except parking with my truck was hard to find. Oak Ridge has the Museum of Science and Energy...great place to learn about the Manhattan Project. One or two exits south on I-75 had plenty of places to eat.

The good: Close to I-75. Staff very friendly. Good cable. Wi-Fi signal was strong but I used my jet pack. Cement pads and nicely wooded. Many pull thru sites and all had fire ring and picnic table. All hook ups are close. The Not so good: They don't guide you to your site. Turns are tight. Many trees so could not use awning. I had a 44 foot site but had to park rig down hill to keep toad hooked up so was way off level. 30 amp breaker would not work so used the 50 w/adapter. Park voltage was 113 with the a/c on so used my autoformer. Assigned site 83 but somebody was on it. Moved to site 81. Staff was spray painting so could not use a bigger site that was more $. Many 15-20 year old permanent rigs with lots of junk but the people seemed friendly. Our fire ring had broken down wood furniture in it. This park was ok for an overnight but I did not care for the issues we had. Took us about 30 minutes just to get a site and drove around the park 3 times. We will not be back. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Considering that we were charged an extra $5.00 for a "premium" site, I was expecting better. The light was out on the power box. The concrete pad was cracked and busted. Our premium picnic table was rotting and gross. The park was a work camp, which one could say was a family campground. When walking my dog, the sites were littered with trash, broken plastic utensils and the like. Extremely disappointing and not somewhere I would recommend, especially for the price per night. You don't get what you pay for. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was nice enough. Pool was clean. Campsites were not identified so it was tricky finding where we were supposed to be. There were no garbage receptacles at the sites. It appears there are very many permanent residents there and most of their places are terribly junked up. The view from our campsite was ridiculous (I posted a picture). There was one bathroom/shower in the area we camped. It doesn't have proper ventilation so everything in there stayed steamy wet from hot showers. There were two showers by the pool and one didn't have any hot water but they were clean. It was okay for our stay (because we were only there to sleep) but I don't think I would want to bring a family here. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed one night on our way to KY. Easy on and off from I-75. Lots of permanent campers. Site was adequate for what we needed. Office man was nice. You take yourself to your site. Some trash in fire ring. Roadways were somewhat tight and we had to disconnect to park our tow so others could get through. All in all it was ok for one night. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Easy layout to get around in, but not too "structured" (meaning perfect rows of parallel parked RV's). Only stayed one night, but liked parking amoungst the trees rather than just a token tree here and there. Appeared to be quite a few "long term" residents. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

The super site I was charged $5 extra for barely fit my 23' camper. The paved pad was above grade making it fits unhook. Campground shares road with landfill and quarry. Truck going by constantly. Most of the trailer were permanent with carports, fencing and junk around them.

The speed limit is 5 mph. I was going slow but owner chased my truck down and blocked it from moving on his golf cart. He was yelling and berating me. It was frightening because I was a woman traveling alone.

This is a trailer park with the front spaces for campers! We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The folks at the office were nice, but they had lost our reservation, lucky for us they were not full. The park is old and needs TLC. The roads are tight and hard to drive on. Our site was not level and were not able to get completely level. The sites are tiny, we could not extend our awning here. There are many permanent residents with junky rigs here. We found trash, broken glass and other debris around the park. We would not return. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We had pre booked a 30 amp site but due to high temperature we were able to get a 50 amp pull thru site on check in. Very helpful friendly girl on check in. Campsite rustic and many permeant sites, our site concrete and level, those at the back of campsite looked less level. Swimming pool, cable TV and Wifi very good. Showers and bathrooms rustic but very clean. Easy access from interstate but no highway noise. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tight sites for big rig. Leaving the park is difficult if you are towing. Got jackknifed and had to unhook car. Be aware of sharp turns and uneven sites. Staff friendly and restrooms clean but old. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Arrived late and left early so did not get to check out store. Registration was closed. Ended up calling after I got home to give them my cc number.

OK for overnight stay but had some difficulty finding level spot. Maybe in daylight it would not have been such a problem. Might stay again if I just needed place with electric to spend the night.

Roadway in campground was tight in dark. OK with Class-C not sure about large Class-A or large 5th wheel. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 4 nights while we were in town for a football game. The sites are on a hill under the trees but terraced and level. The laundry was clean and well equipped. Wash 1.75; dry 1.00. All staff we encountered were pleasant. Our site did not allow satellite signal; cable had a weak signal. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We came through here for one night while on the road this summer. There is a nice area for tents apart from the RV spaces. The spots could be a bit more level but the fire pits, benches and available power/water make up for it. The store is stocked with reasonably priced items. This price was for one van, 3 people and 3 tents in one spot. Alcohol permitted and no out of state fees make this a good spot. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Tent.

We had to stay here 3 mo for wife operation at UT Medical Center. The owner put on a pig pickin while and this guy can cook a hog. We stayed in the monthly section, the park is quiet and the pool was great. The only problem in our section was dog poop not being picked by a few dog owners there at the park. Other than that the park has easy back outs and very nice pull- throughs, fire pits, did I mention the cookouts, O yes. Staff is very nice as well as the owner. We stay here every time we have to go to Knoxville. They went out of their way to keep us in the same spot when we had to stay a lot longer than we planned to. We thank them for there caring and kindness. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.
