Cages Bend is a very nice COE campground on the shores of Old Hickory Lake. The location is just outside of Hendersonville & Gallatin TN. It is a sea of calm outside a bustling suburb of Nashville, the surrounding area is very busy, but the park is a couple of miles away past some beautiful homes and farms. The sites are rather large and include a large round cement picnic table with three circular bench seats, a lantern post, a firepit with cooking grate, 30A service with water at the site. There is a dump station but no sewer hook ups. The inland sites are 20.00 and the waterfront are 24.00. There are fishing piers and boat ramp. Lot of large hickory trees. Cell service excellent. Lot of forest canopy so satellite is not guaranteed. Staff was very nice. Campground stayed very busy during our stay. We liked this park, and would possibly stay here again. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Kroger up the road from the park was one of the largest, nicest grocery stores I have ever been to. They had extensive selection of everything one might want including clothing and appliances. We travel full time and this has to be the nicest most well stocked grocery store we have ever seen.

Tough to find in a large MH but worth the trip. Sites a little close but all scenic. Biggest problem is finding the signage to enter the road to park. You must watch closely for sign on Cages Bend Road. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful COE campground on a lake. Sites are long and concrete pads. Beautiful lake views. Make your reservations well in advance as it fills up. We usually stay for two weeks. Be aware the road coming in to the campground is curvy and narrow. Only thing that could be improved is that many of the sites have steps down to the table area. Some are quite steep and no rail. I fell once here while carrying food down to the table and heard from others that came to help me that other people have fallen too--really need some railings especially on the ones with 5-6 steps. (Site 15 has 3 steps) We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.

You can't go wrong with Cages Bend COE RV Park. It is obvious that the engineers had an eye for detail and kept the "user' in mind when they designed this park. Almost every site has at least one line of sight to the Old Hickory Lake, even those pads not directly on the lake. Each site has a spacious, gavel patio, equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. Roads were asphalt and easy to drive and sites were either concrete or small gravel. Our site was level without any assistance from us and that always makes me smile. This is a water and 30/50 amp park, with a dump station. The grounds and utilities were well maintained. There is a good size playground for the kids and a boat ramp just outside of the camping loop. The park is quiet, serene, and convenient to anything you might want to do in Nashville. We connected to our satellite for tv and had both Verizon and AT&T coverage. We would most definitely come back to this park. Well done Corp of Engineers. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small campground: less than 30 sites. The sites are gravel, large, level and clean. Nice picnic tables and fire pits. Sites 10-15 on the waterfront are very nice. No hiking but beautiful sites. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.

The public roads in are small but the roads in the CG are fine. The trees are old and large, very shady. The lake/river is large at the point, just OK for wading and swimming but looked very good for boating.

The site was very nice, a patio that overlooked the lake (through the trees). We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.

This park was beautiful. We had to set up in the rain and loved that it was on a slab. It was very peaceful and quiet. There was a playground for the little ones. Lots of squirrels everywhere. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful camp. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Very impressed with cleanliness of grounds and facilities. Beautiful water views. Camp site was level; hookups were convenient and worked great. We had a 10 minute wait for the dump station. Can't wait to return. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.

Senior rate. A very nice and a very busy park. Road coming in was a bit tight in places, so beware if you see someone coming out before turning in. We were able to get site #1, not the best site to get into. It is a hard 90 degree turn backing in and there is a deep ditch on CG road making it even harder to make the swing. It is listed as maximum equipment length of 38' for that reason. But once in the site was great, probably 70' to 80' deep. TV via bat wing was very good. Verizon cell and broadband also very good at 4G, but the broadband was slower at times. Only real negative here is the dump station. Water pools where you need to make your sewer hose attachment, so you are in some not so clean water while dumping. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park, very quiet. Very large sites with great picnic area and fire ring at each site. Only downside is no sewer hookup. This was not a problem as we only stayed two nights, but a longer stay would have required moving the rig to dump. Price reflects Senior Discount. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.

Cages Bend is a wonderful, peaceful campground. Some of the campsites have great water views. There is no sewer (Core of Engineers Park) but the environment makes up for it. They do have a dump station. One problem is that the directions to the campground are not sufficient to find it without knowing the area. We got half price for camping with the Senior Pass. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground on Old Hickory Lake. It's located just a few miles outside Nashville. The campground offers 43 sites with electric and water hook ups. There is a playground, a group pavillon, a dump station, a boat launch, and laundry facilities. there is no swim area. The bath houses were clean. The interior road is a little narrow but is paved. Most of the sites are large tiered sites with table, fire ring, lamp holder on fine gravel pads. They have a few sites that have all concrete pads. There is a lot of grassy area with mature trees, not heavy woods, but plenty of shade. We were very pleased with this campground and would return . We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Travel Trailer.

Our favorite campground! Always quiet. We have been camping here for over 15 years and the only problem is this campground has become so popular it's hard to get a space. Lots of room between campsites. Level gravel and some concrete sites. There is no store, however you are about 10 minutes away from Gallatin & Hendersonville. There is a boat ramp with a small dock next door. We usually buy some bait on our way up and fish off the dock. We will return again and again! We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Tent Trailer.

Good park for visiting Nashville area. It's about 25 miles from downtown Nashville. Only a few sites with 50 amps. Sites are all paved with large decks. The last road getting to the park is narrow and the turn is pretty tight. We couldn't get satellite due to the trees. Park was well maintained. We camped at Cages Bend COE in a Motorhome.
