We stayed for one night while passing through the area. The park is a little off the beaten path but not too difficult to find and only a few minutes from the interstate. The park is very pretty and peaceful. We were greeted by the friendly host at the gatehouse and given directions to our site, #58. There is nice privacy and separation between the sites. Our site had a pretty strong grade up which made backing in a little difficult. Not sure it would be suitable for a motor home. Also, we noticed our site and a few others had crumbling asphalt along the edge of the pad with a 6" drop off so we had to make sure our tires didn't go off the edge. The restrooms were OK; I didn't care for the showers because although the showers themselves were private, there was no room for dressing so you're forced to do so out in the open right next to the sinks. This should be improved. There is no campstore but the park is a short drive to numerous stores and restaurants. The beach area is pretty and has a nice playground. Over the air TV netted over a dozen stations and the At&t cell signal was strong. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This was our second Corps of Engineers campground and it was an absolutely spectacular one on the shores of J. Percy Priest Lake. We were in site #13 which the ranger told us at check-in was "one of the sites that people try for years to get". We soon saw why. It was like our own private park...huge grassy lawn, sandy beach, long, straight driveway, large picnic and camping area. All sites on the lake are just as beautiful, and the ones not on the lake also spacious and private. We were there mid-week and the 60-site campground was almost full, a testimony to its popularity. There was a swimming beach, playground and boat ramp on site. We took a walk down to the day-use boat ramp and public park which were equally as beautiful as the campground. The one shower house was a bit of a hike but we didn't mind since they were quite clean and the walk did us good. There was also a separate bath house a little down the road. I can't say enough about this place and hope to return some day. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just a quick drive into Nashville. We spent a day in the city and to make the best use of our time, took one of the guided tours to see the highlights. Very much worth the $25pp price.

Sites are very large, level and semi-private in a forest setting. There is some aircraft traffic from the nearby airport but it was not objectionable. We had a spectacular view of the lake and enjoyed the evening sunsets over the water. Great fire rings with cooking grates in good condition. We were visited one morning by 7 deer that grazed at our campsite while we were having our morning coffee. Overall, the site was small size gravel but fairly clean. Some mud had washed down into the parking area due to recent heavy rains but that did not cause a problem. There is no wi-fi or cable but we had good Verizon cell coverage and local TV reception was strong. This campground provided more of a classic camping experience due to the woodland setting and lack of some amenities such as wi-fi and sewer connections. Good dump station at the park entrance/exit. We added this park to our favorites listing. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Our second stay here and it looks just the same. Could use some branch trimming here and there as we had branches hit our roof or side several times. Still a great value,is but site selection is critical. Most sites here start with a moderate to sharp grade and then a somewhat level pad area. This area varied in size making site selection important. We had site 51 which was one of the more level sites. Other sites more suitable for MHs are 1, 4, 10, 12. 14. 16, 43, 45, 47(ADA), 48, 49, 50, 52 and 53. There are other sites that will also work, but most were occupied making it difficult to judge. Small units and trailers have no issues here. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best place to park when visiting Broadway is across the river by the Titans stadium. Right next to the foot bridge over the Cumberland River is a city lot that is low cost. The Honky Tonks on Broadway are a must visit.

Thus is a beautiful park on a lake close to Nashville. Have to travel thru neighborhoods to get there. Real jewel of a park. Swimming beach, laundry available. Every thing you look for in a campsite with a fifth wheel. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived at Seven Points in the early evening but had no trouble finding our site. We only stayed one night on our way to Arkansas but found this park to be small but idyllic with a small beach and swimming area. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the lake. We liked it so much we stayed another night on our way back. The campground is a bit hard to find but worth the effort. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Campground is east of downtown Nashville off of I-40. It is also on the flight path of the Nashville Airport but noise was infrequent and minimal.

Overall Rating:

Very popular campground on shore of J. Percy Priest reservoir. Almost all sites had good shape, great spacing between sites. Interior road paved and easy to navigate, and most sites I saw were very long, paved, and level. Each site had very nice and spacious patio area of fine crushed stone, with fire ring and picnic table, plus a small movable high table for cooking or other utility purposes. Was pleasantly surprised to see maintenance crew had raked patio clean, leaving fine lines like a Japanese meditation garden, nice touch. 50A power was stable for 3 nights, and Verizon cell signal was very good, as was over the air TV channel choices. Would have stayed here longer, but weekend was booked up even though I had made my reservations just over 2 months ago. Clean and well maintained bathroom and shower facilities, and nice, separate beach and boat launch areas on waterfront. Not a bad place to base exploring nearby downtown Nashville from. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not a whole lot to do in immediate area, but J. Percy Priest dam is worth a visit. Trailhead to nice, but hilly, Stones River Greenway bike path is in parking area whose entrance is across street from dam visitor center. Ticks here, and in nearby Cooks recreation area hiking trails, were very bad this time of year, be prepared.

Wonderful for rustic camping and very inexpensive. Great value for the price. Many sites have beautiful views of Percy Priest Lake (our site #45 didn't have a view), and most sites are quite long, wooded, very spacious and very private. The bathrooms, however, are old and had lots of mosquitoes and spiders. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Only 58 sites so make reservations well in advance because this park is very popular. We have a 38' 5th wheel and choose pull through site #59 from the picture on the reservation website. It doesn't look too bad except it doesn't show the curve or trees on the driver side. It took us 45 minutes to maneuver into this site. If you have a large rig do NOT choose any of the pull through sites. That being said it is a beautiful park with spacious sites on the lake. The park was full on a weekday in April so reservations are suggested. If we're ever in the area we will come again. The only reason I gave it a 9 was because of the misleading picture on the website. We camped at Seven Points Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful, but small campground located on J. Percy Priest Lake. We were in site 36, a nice level back in site with lovely water views of the lake from the very large sitting area. All sites are asphalt. Bathroom was older and fairly clean. Showers and laundry are available but we didn't use them. Dump station is located right next to the gatehouse, but we chose not to use it as it proved too challenging to get into for our 40' fifth wheel (it's a hard right turn with a telephone pole near the entrance).

The park has a beach area and nice playground for kids, along with a boat launch and lots of places to fish around the lake. There's no hiking or biking trails in this campground, nor is there a campground store. All sites are water/electric only. We would definitely stay here again.
