This campground is on a peninsula in the Nickajack Lake/Tennessee River and is a prime location for those who like to fish or kayak with boat ramps, fishing piers and boat trailer parking. I did not see a lot of geese or droppings. It has a lot of seasonal campers but the ones we met were all friendly. It also has a lot of tents especially along the water. It may be difficult to find an available site in the summer because of the seasonal campers. I was able to reserve a site by phone in May. The office for checking in is a little tricky to find due to lack of signage and is in the middle of the park up on a hill. I recommend that you go to their website (www.marioncountypark.com) and print a map of the campground so that you can see which roads to take. It appears that the people who manage the campground live in a yellow mobile home which is where you check in. The dump station is near the office. There are 2 bathhouses. The one by the office is new and has 2 personal rooms with 1 shower, 1 sink and 1 toilet. The other one is very old with only 1 shower, 1 sink and 1 toilet. There is no sewer at the campsites and not all of the sites have 50 amp. The sites looked level, pads are gravel, only a few have a picnic table. There are fire rings all over the park. You can see this campground from I-24 but the road noise did not bother us at all. It is easy to get to from I-24 exit 158 which has a Loves's Travel gas station and restaurants. There are beautiful views of the water and mountains. The list of rules says no alcoholic beverages. The only complaint that I have with this park is that it has low water pressure. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

We arrived in our 40 ft RV and were a little confused which way we needed to go as there is a sign for tent campers and one for RV camping. We thought "we're RV camping, so let's go that way". Wrong. We had to go up to the office where it said tent camping. Anyway, the campground is very nice with decent sized spaces. We were in space 29 which has a fire pit and a nice view of the river. There are a few geese here, but nothing to gripe about. The only real negative I have is the trash left laying around. The fire pit had cans and cigarette butts thrown in. There was also trash thrown all around one set of trash bins. I cleaned both up in an effort to make it nicer for the next person. The shower/restroom area was so-so. I've seen better, but it was ok. We may come back again. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

We stay here in a 21' travel trailer on our way home to Canada. The problems....there seems to be no supervision. There is garbage just left sitting out. The campsite was not clean when we arrived, a large branch had fallen. Granted it had stormed about 3 days ago , but still. There are cars everywhere, there seems to be no limit to the number of vehicles allowed. The washrooms were not to standard....last and almost worst the noise. This campground is right off highway the noise travels over the open water right to the campground. I will not stop here again. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Travel Trailer.

The restroom clean, shower stall clean, a little dated but fine. Manager was friendly, very helpful! This park is easy access to I24, has potential to be a gem of a location with lake views! County needs to take pride and do a clean up/spruce up of all the area around campsites! But for overnight stop it is fine! We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Travel Trailer.

I understand the previous manager past away recently and the current management is terrible. No instructions where to register. Poorly maintained. bathrooms /showers are atrocious and no supplies. Trash left in fire rings and in the water. Will no use this facility in the future. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

Very close to the interstate - a lot of road noise day and night. No laundry. Goose droppings everywhere. Friendly enough staff. The lake is pretty. We would not stay here again. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

Wow, a nice little county park CG just of I-24 and a great value at $15 senior. $17 is the full price and tent sites are $10. The geese must have moved out, we did not have any problem or signs of them in our site 32a. Beware directions if coming from the south. As of this post the bridge near the park is closed for construction, so US-41 and US-64 have a detour. You must come in from exit 158 and then south to the CG. Also, there are two camping areas here with hookups, one with signs and the other with no signs. That one is to the left when you first come in. We followed the signs and had a nice reasonably level pull thru with 50 amps and water. This part of the CG is set up a bit funny, road is one way but some of the sites are angled for coming in the wrong way. But no big deal. Verizon cell and broadband both very good. TV via batwing was so so, but no NBC or Fox, lots of church stations thou. We did pickup CBS (mostly good) and ABC after working the antenna. Dump station is setup funny as mentioned. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

The price is right! The location is outstanding! The sites are mostly level. But, the bathhouse is in dire need of updating. They have brought in more porta potties to help with the bathroom issues. For the size of this great park they could use some more. Plus, there is an enormous goose problem here. I counted at least 50-60 of them. They leave behind their droppings and it makes for a mess. The electric seemed to work well. This site (33) has water but we just used out on-board water. The dump station is located a good bit from the campground. The lake (Nickajack) is very tempting. There is a boat launch just about one third of a mile from the sites. There is not a pool or picnic tables here. Cable or Wi-Fi is not available. There does seem to be a fire ring or pit in almost every site. Plus, there are an abundance of trash cans located everywhere. This did help with the cleanliness of the park. The manager was friendly and has been there a long time. I would stay here again based on the price and the location. And, this is a great place to stop overnight. However, based on the geese and other factors I must give this place a 6. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

Very lovely park surrounded by water, and easily accessible from I-24. Lots of sites, many pull throughs and many waterfront. Friendly management. We saw no signs of goose droppings, like others have described. The park was pretty empty when we stopped through. The RV dump station is a bit odd to find and use - it's up on the road to the office. Which, despite how it might look upon arrival, is accessible via big rig - it empties into the boat launch area with plenty of room to turn around. Suggest using it before finding your spot, instead of after - as the turn is quite sharp to make. There is some highway noise from I-24 being directly across the lake, but it's tolerable for a night or two. We had great Verizon & AT&T 3G signal. We'll definitely stop in again on future trips through the area. Great spot to overnight in. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

Marion County Park is located on Nickajack Lake in Jasper TN, and is easily accessed from I-24. The sites are graveled, fairly level and big rig friendly. We stayed on a lake front lot, so we had to contend with the ample supply of goose dung. Bath houses are functional but need upgrading. The park has a good boat ramp, and other amenities include a playground, a fishing pier, and a swimming area. Most of the campers were there with boats to fish. No shade on the lake front sites, but some sites away from the lake front have partial shade. While the campground is separated from the interstate with a large span of water, the road noise reflects off the water and is somewhat noisy. Campground is quite accommodating for an overnight stay. Lots to do, see and eat in nearby Chattanooga. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Motorhome.

The park seems to have had around 40 sites set up for RVs and just about that number sit up for tent sites. The sites were fairly level. Each site was marked with gravel and had water and electricity. The power supply seemed to work well. The grass was neatly mowed and trimmed. This park is located on Nickajack Lake in Jasper TN. The main issue that bothered me was the geese. Yes, there were hundreds of them and they left their mark right on the camping areas. They deposited their droppings everywhere. One other issue we had was the reservations system. It was poor at best. The park contained lots of amenities. It had a boat ramp that looked very serviceable. The playground was in good repair. They had a theater area that looked like music was played there often. There was a fishing pier that went about 50 feet out into the lake. They had a swimming area that was well marked. The 2 bathhouses were fairly clean but appeared to be very old. It needed some work. The management must have issues with the bathhouses. They had porta-potties through out the park. I guess they were needed because of the size of the park. I would guess that it was about 10 acres with about 2 acres devoted to the camping area. There were trees when one took a site away from the lake. Otherwise, the lakes front sites were all without shade. Overall, I would stay here again. We camped at Marion County Park and Lake in a Travel Trailer.
