8 Parks near Lakeland, Tennessee
Apr 2016 - $33.00
This is a old campground. They have some nice long pull-through sites that allow big rigs to stay hooked up. They have 50 Amp full hookups available. AT&T and Verizon work well. Some have clear sky for satellite set up. Restrooms are dated but clean. No train or highway noise. No free WiFi. Internal roads and pads are gravel and grass. Sites are well spaced but untidy, grass not cut, leaves not raked. Easy on/off I-40 about 2 miles. This is an old KOA that is now an old mobile home park with 18 pull-through sites in the middle of a 100+ old mobile homes. But having said that it is very quiet and safety is not an issue. Will stay again for one night. - TedandJan
Oct 2015 - $32.00
As other reviewers have said, this is part mobile home park and part campground. The mobile home part was neat, clean, and quiet. Registration was closed when we arrived and several maps were left out for us to choose a site - not the most convenient situation. It was dark and the roads were not well marked so we had to walk around with a flashlight to find a place to park. When we went to the office in the morning to check out and pay, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our site was long enough for our tow vehicle and 40'
fifth-wheel without unhitching. It was fairly level but definitely not very clean. Whomever camped there last left a mess and it wasn't cleaned up. We did not use the restrooms or showers but, with the poor condition of our site, I'm glad we are self-contained and didn't have to do so. We did get good television reception with the antenna. There are not many campgrounds in the area so we would probably stay there again if necessary but hopefully would arrive before dark to have some help picking our site and then finding it. - SandyA
Oct 2014 - $28.00
Have camped here for about 4 weeks in the months of September and October. The campground is very quiet even though it is part of a mobile home park. Many permanent campers but their sites are pretty well maintained. The only negative about this campground is the maintenance of the grounds and restrooms. It appears that if you ask for something to be done concerning maintenance, they are willing to do it; however, you have to ask. Restrooms are not cleaned daily but are not nasty. The staff is friendly. This is about the only campground in the Memphis area that is worth staying. They just need to do more in the form of maintenance (mowing, dumping trash, and cleaning restrooms). The sites are large enough to accommodate my 40' 5th wheel. We would stay here again. - jjenkins58
Aug 2016 - $21.00
Spent two weekend nights. Concrete pads, patios and roads in excellent repair. Much shade and grass well groomed. Found commissary gate closed now Sat and Sun. Onsite staff very friendly and helpful. Very pleased that they have added free wifi. Have enjoyed every stay here over the years. - Vdsavell
May 2016 - $21.00
We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the stay. The ride up 51 is a little long with the traffic lights and traffic, but getting on base through the Singleton Ave gate is easy. Once you're through the gate, it's only a couple of quick right turns to the park. There is a mailbox at the entry of the park with site and check in information. We were not greeted by the camp host, so we just went to the back and picked an empty site.
The layout makes it very easy to back in, but be careful of your rear stabilizers as there is a decent hill entering each site. Sites are concrete and more than big enough for any size rig. Not a whole lot of shade throughout the park. Utilities were fine and no issue with placement of hookups. WiFi worked well, no cable, but plenty of over the air channels. Many long term residents had satellite dishes out, so looks like a clear line of sight for that. The laundry has two new washers and two new dryers that are free. The laundry/bathhouse is clean and we'll kept.
My only complaint is the requirement of checking in with the camp host then having to go to the rec office across base to pay for the site. Seems redundant to me.
All in all it is a very nice park, even though we don't plan on returning to Memphis, we would stay there again if passing through. - pfogleboch
Apr 2016 - $21.00
Best place we've camped in yet! Free excellent wifi, free laundry, full hookups, spacious sites, all base services (commissary, NEX, package store, gym, etc). The south gate is closed on weekends and nonbusiness hours (not mentioned on website) but you can get in the main gate on Navy Road. They also need instructions on how to use those beautiful new eco friendly washers. All in all, this is a great campground for the money. - Melodycthomas
Sep 2016 - $30.00
Sites small but easy to get into. We only stayed one night but would stay again on our way thru the area. Lots of activity in the Agricenter - wish that we had time to check it out. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by. - rockfarmer
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Big, big park. In conjunction with agricenter and food court. Liked the area and location. Only stayed overnight but would stay there again. In fact, we tried to make reservations for our return trip but they had a fair that was coming to the grounds and were not taking reservations. - Alamo_GQ88310
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Agricenter RV Park seems to exist primarily to have a place for camping for exhibitors and farm-to-market people while they participate in Agricenter activities. So, accordingly, there are not the full amenties of a campground -- no picnic table or firepit/grill -- but they do have two bathroom-showers, and a laundry room with 3 sets of washer/dryers. The sites are all a thin layer of gravel over dirt and mostly well drained. We had full hookups with no hiccups. We were there mid-week when nothing was going on, so many of the sites were empty. It looked to be about 1/4 full. There was room for my tow-car to sit to the side of the RV, so the sites were wide and long enough for most Class As. The hookups were together, so the RV next to us had to be pointed the opposite direction, but since all sites are essentially pull-through's, that wasn't an issue for them or for us. There were trash barrels at every other site, so, very close and a lot of them, which was nice. It's about 35-40 minutes (with no traffic) into Memphis from there. - RobtL
Jun 2016 - $20.00
This is a very beautiful park with lots of outdoor activities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campground sites are heavily wooded with lots of shade. Water pressure was very good at 60 lbs. Most sites on the interior loop seemed fairly level. All sites are paved pads, but most are built-up to make them semi-level and this causes a large step down to the unpaved area. The fire rings, picnic table and grill are mostly located to the rear of the sites.
There is absolutely no cell phone/data service at the park. We were OK with this, just be aware. The downside to this heavily wooded campground is the large mosquito population. Using mosquito spray did not seem to affect them, they came in droves. Opening the camper door briefly to get in or out resulted in a hunting expedition for the numerous mosquitoes that came in. The mosquitoes also invaded the bathrooms/showers. This required a dance to swat and shower. - GA Bob
Oct 2015 - $20.00
This is a beautiful state park about 25 minutes NW of Memphis. Our site (#25) was very large. All sites are heavily treed so I could not use my satellite. I got a decent selection of channels with the antenna. All interior roads in this 13,000 acre park are paved as are the parking slabs. To make the slab level the blacktop is raised about six inches above the rest of the site so that was a bit awkward. The park is on the Mississippi River although the drive to the boat ramp/river took 20 minutes. Also 20 minutes away (within the park) was a beautiful lake. There was no phone signal within the park on my Verizon iPnone and wifi is only available at the park office and parking lot in front of it. - RVerMJ
Mar 2015 - $23.00
This is a very quiet park that is several miles from anything. Besides hiking and relaxing, there isn't a whole lot to do at this park as the river is several miles away. The bathrooms were clean but could really use some updating. Just a few dollars worth of stall locks that lock and shower curtains that stay in place would make a big difference. Hanging your towel on a horizontal round peg is hard - how about some two dollar towel hooks that actually hold a towel! Note that there is some sort of pump right at Site 32 that makes a loud clicking noise several times when turning on. I recommend NOT CAMPING at or near Site 32 due to this noisy pump. The voltage at my site was pretty good. It would have been nice if the dirt and pavement at our site was at the same level so we didn't have such a large step when exiting the RV. Not all sites have this issue. Overall, this is a very nice and scenic park that is great for relaxing. - tundracamper
May 2014 - $17.00
We camped here because we couldn't find any campgrounds available. Didn't have reservations. Called at night, lady answered. Waited for us. Nice older lady trying to run park alone. She needs help. Didn't see anyone else there. Were a couple of autos next to older looking campers. Couldn't use bath house, really nasty. Also really close to highways. Didn't bother me, but my sister couldn't sleep. Did look like a bad neighborhood. A dilapidated/vacant motel or apartment bldg, right in front of campground . Sign said 'Good Sam'. But it isn't. On the bright side, the WiFi was EXCELLENT! Fastest I've ever encountered. Lady was real nice, friendly. - ParisMarie7
May 2012 - $28.00
This is an older park but it was secure, the park no longer honors Good Sam nor do they take credit cards. But, the attendant was nice, showed us to our site, even offered to show us around town. Although close to the highway the noise wasn't too bad. The sites are level, 50 AMP service and for the price it's hard to beat. We would stay here again. These are nice people. - Jim Tadlock
Sep 2011 - $29.00
This park has recovered from the flood. Extremely helpful owner and staff. Many concrete pads right on the Mississippi River where you can watch the barges travel by. Clean, Good 50 amp power and free Wi-Fi. Very convenient to downtown Memphis right across the I-40 bridge. This will be my choice for a campground in the Memphis area. - spitfirepete
Dec 2016 - $42.00
Stayed 3 nights, one on the way to Branson, and two on the way home. The RV park is small but very well kept but although the amenities here show cable but I'm not sure we did have cable. Gated, very good security, garbage picked up twice a day. - Arnold Tobias
Nov 2016 - $37.00
If one is planning to visit Graceland, Beale Street, Sun Studios and other Memphis attractions, this is a nice handy RV park. It is across the street from Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion off of Elvis Presley Blvd. The campsites are a bit tight, but I was lucky enough to get a end site that had more room. The staff members were friendly and the store inside the office sells Elvis souvenirs. The campground is behind the former Heartbreak Hotel (now closed). Elvis music can be heard all day from a souvenir store not far away. There is security at the front gate. - ArmandV
Oct 2016 - $42.00
It was a very convenient place to see what we wanted to see. - BJ&ME
Nov 2016 - $45.00
This place was pretty much a dump, but as close as we could get to downtown Memphis. It's not in the best neighborhood, and there is no gate on it, so I felt a little unsafe.
We also got kicked out at 11 o'clock (because it was check out time), even though there were tons of open spots. I've never been asked to leave and found it a bit rude.
There is another park down the road that has a gate and cleaner facilities. Spend the extra $5 and stay there. - Sweetcornprincess
Oct 2015 - $40.00
Well I made a reservation at the wrong place. For $5 more a night I could have stayed at a much nicer park. Full hook ups 50 amp , water sewer and a WiFi that is pretty good. Nice people here but park needs major work.
Site was fairly level and owner picked one to get good satellite but I don't think they know I need a clear shot due south and there is a big old beautiful oak tree right in the path. Good news pulled in 20 stations or so of antenna. I would not stay here again. - signaloil
Sep 2015 - $32.00
This is an old park and it shows its age, but not in a bad way, just a little rough around the edges. The owners are very nice people. They compensate for the size of the sites by limiting occupation to every other site, which works well, giving every one a bit of grass and comfortable picnic table space and ample parking. Very dog friendly, with lots of nice walking and play areas. The neighborhood has its noisy moments, but it IS in town and I'm here on a weekend. - Spike in FL
Jan 2015 - $38.00
Very expensive for what is there- no pool, mostly permanent camper trailers, evidently it is on the flight path to Memphis airport - from 4:00am to 7:00am continually landing flights every 4-5 minutes ! - User2272
Oct 2013 - $29.00
We decided to try this park for a change of pace from the other area parks we have stayed in over the years. It was the last week of October and the park was almost full of extended stay customers. I saw only a couple empty sites and noticed no other customers who appeared to be transients. We had a fairly level, FHU, pull-through with 60+ channel cable TV. There are 4 rows of sites in this park - the 2 outer rows are back-ins and the 2 inner rows are pull-throughs. Even though the sites are not that small, the park feels cramped because it is so full. I was unable to connect to their Wi-Fi. The office building contains a small laundry and two separate unisex bathrooms. There is no pool and I did not notice any other recreational facilities. No map of the park was given at check-in. Yes, there is a lot of airplane and jet noise. The park is behind some businesses on a commercial and retail road. There is a large supermarket across the street. This park is OK, but the Wi-Fi problem and noise are big negatives. - Jerry S
May 2013 - $30.00
In town, close to freeway, easy on/off. Paved roads with gravel sites and patios. Just long enough for our 37 foot m/h. Not too close to neighbors. Power was low at times, water and cell (AT&T) was good. Satellite friendly, shopping, restaurants close by. Airport nearby. LOT of noise at 3 - 4 in the morning (could not sleep throught it) and again at 3 - 4 in afternoon. OK park, but the plane noise will make us look elsewhere next time. - kmgulf
