Nice wide entrance with friendly work-camper staff. Standard rate is $20.00 - we got half price with our Federal Access Pass. Waterfront sites are higher ($25, I think). RIGHT at the base of Center Hill Dam sits this very nice campground directly on the bank of the Caney Fork River - cold water, cool breezes, trout fishing! There is a great set of concrete stairs that goes down to the river you can fish from, and a creek with a small walking bridge runs through the grounds behind the bathhouse. This walkway connects the 'group' camping area to the bathhouse. The group area is a nice tight circle of about a dozen RV campsites that can be used / reserved for group events. It has a large pavilion 'meeting room' with a large, covered (chimmey'd) fire pit right in the center. A group of disabled vets were there the weekend we were.

Has wide and long shady sites (back-in) with properly located 20/30/50 amp hookups and water (no sewer). But there's also a lantern pole, picnic table, fire ring, grill, AND another table with a roof over it for various uses. Nice modern bathhouse and showers. Spotty cell service (low on AT&T, fair on Verizon). Great place! We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.

Writing from the early 40s with kids perspective. Nice staff and clean enough bathrooms (it is camping afterall). It's an entirely different expereince camping on or away from the water. I wouldn't be interested in another trip NOT on the water. The sites I love (10, 6, 8, etc) face the water and a beautiful view day and night. Good trout fishing and canoe trip right from the campground. The kids enjoyed the playground and it's a flat/easy/safe loop for them to ride their bikes. My husband's favourite campground. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Tent Trailer.

We had no problem getting in or out with our 25' trailer. The park host was very nice. He even let us move sites after we had set up and then found another that we liked better (#10). This site was on the river and was absolutely beautiful. There is a lot of construction going on in the area, making getting to the campground a little tough. The river can be too fast for swimming when they are releasing water from the dam, but boating is fine. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Travel Trailer.

I was not going to re-review Long Branch ( COE ) campground but changed my mind when I came within 4 inches of tearing up the passenger side if our motorhome when attempting to exit this campground with our auto hooked up and in tow. Our attempted exit was so precarious that we blocked the exit and entrance to the campground until we had disconnected the auto and then carefully backed up. This is apparently not a new issue as the camp host came out and make a comment to the effect that he’d like to take a chain saw to this section of low lying fence. That said, be careful entering and exiting this COE park and hopefully whoever is in charge of this campground will seriously look into this issue. Other than that, the sites are spacious – water and electric only with a dump site near the host site. They have a nice kids playground and the Caney Fork river at the foot of the dam offers trout fishing. Our site #11 did not allow us to connect with our rooftop satellite dish – a fact that was lost on the host. We had a very weak cell phone connection. Other than that it is a good park with a price break for seniors. Our inexpensive camping fee could have run in the thousands of dollars to repair the rig had we scraped this fence. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.

Long Branch COE Campground was one of the most difficult destinations to find because the Tennessee DOT signs on I-40 ( west ) directed to use an exit not initially recommended by our GPS. We ended up miles west of the best campground exit and this put us on SR 141 - a tight windy road nightmare of a road. . If you read this review, take exit 268/ Cordell Hull Dam and ignore the DOT signs. The very cordial/helpful camp host said these signs are long overdue for removal and it’s a 5 miletrip from I-40 to the CG. Once at the campground we found everything to our liking. The on the river sites are $24( $12 w/ Golden Age ) and the inland sites are $12/10. The sites are level gravel with grass between. Not every site offers 50 amp so if you need it make a reservation. Below the Cordell Hull Dam there is fishing for trout on the Caney Fork River. Browns, Rainbow and Brook Trout with a limit of one per day if they are over 24 inches. The bathhouse was more than adequate and spotless. In addition to fishing and boating on the river ( or the lake above the dam ) there is a playground for the kids. If there is a down side, the campground is not close to restaurants or shopping unless you consider a 10 mile drive to be close. If you can be self contained for a week and like peaceful country living, then you’ll enjoy this place. We would come here again for a 3-4 day stay, but not for a one night stopover. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.

Wonderful campground with large, wide, long sites lined with tiny gravel and lots of grass between sites. Each site has a long table with a roof, a fire ring, a grill, a lantern stand and a small table. The sites on the Caney Fork River have a wooden fence at the back of the site and a hill down to the river. We only got 3 PBS TV stations with our antennae. Very quiet and relaxing. We saw several men who had caught trout in the river or brought their canoes or small fishing boats. The campground is right next to the Center Hill Dam. The closest grocery store is about 5 miles away in Gordonsville. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.

I love this campground! It is on the hill above Caney Fork Rive - a trout stream. You can canoe or kayak also. Then there is Center Hill Lake to fish and boat on. Very clean and big shady sites for the most part. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.

The price listed reflects the “Golden Age Card” discount for COE campgrounds. The campground was very nice and would probably have gotten a higher rating if not for the entry road. The park is about 8 miles from I-40 on a narrow winding 2-lane road. That was not so bad but just after crossing the Center Hill Lake Dam you turn down a VERY steep hill with a right angle turn at the bottom. Be warned you need to be in 1st gear for this hill! The campground is at the foot of the dam and the surrounding cliffs and woods are lovely. Sites 56 & 57 are our favorites. We camped at Long Branch COE in a Motorhome.
