We stayed only one night because we were passing through. As others mentioned, the sites are a little tight due to trees, but no issue for our 30ft camper and pull vehicle. The park was very clean and beautiful. We saw a family of deer feeding through the campsites in the evening and again in the morning. Restrooms/showers are dated, but very clean. It was very functional and commensurate with other state parks we have stayed in. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped here for an overnight. The campground is a series of tight loops in a heavily wooded area. The sites are too small and barely fit MH and toad. Would stay here again if nothing else was available. Have to cross a bridge (just wide enough and tall enough for my MH) to get in or out. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

We had reserved online and knew which site was ours but there was never an attendant at the gate even when the office said it would be open. The one lane bridge in was wide enough and tall enough for our 40 foot fifth wheel. Having said that, getting into our space was very difficult. It was long enough but because of trees and signs right at the entry point, it was hard to back in and miss obstacles on both sides. The site was beautiful and well away from other sites. With a few scrub trees cut down, it would open the sites and make it much easier to park. We were on the main road of the camp and found the areas off the main road very difficult to drive because of the closeness of the trees. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was okay. Not too bad... but nothing to great either. We stayed here 5 nights then moved on to Florida. The sites were nice and big, but the restrooms needed updated and cleaned. We loved the park and the trails with various waterfalls. The workers were not very friendly at all. I could see that this would be good for an overnight stop, but staying a week was not what we expected. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very heavily treed park. Restroom/showers not clean, with excessive cobwebs and live spiders and bugs. My girls ran screaming from the building. Roads a bit narrow making backing in a bit of a challenge but we did it. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pretty disappointed. Old Stone Fort state park is a beautiful place, however the campground is in serious need of updating. Maybe it's a budget issue? Price reflected winter/senior discount. Note that during the winter there are no shower facilities. Ten minutes to town and shopping. Be careful on the extremely narrow bridge that leads to the campground. Paved roads. Paved, level sites. Some sites were tight, and could be a challenge for big rigs. No problem for our 23' Class C. No wi-fi. Utility connections very old but worked. Dump station available as you leave the campground. Trash cans available throughout the campground. Restrooms serviceable, but old and in need of update. No shower facilities in winter season. No laundry facility. Good cell coverage via AT & T. Those with a satellite dish might not have coverage due to the trees. Given some attention, maintenance and updating, the Old Stone Fort campground could be an awesome place. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

Stopped here for an overnight and a chance to walk around the historic ruins. The campground is a series of tight loops in a heavily wooded area. I don't know how those folks with the fifth wheels and big Class A's managed to stuff themselves In a spot - we had a heck of time parking our little 27' MH into a site. Had to jockey around several sites before we could find one to fit into. It didn't help that other campers park their vehicles in the loop road, as the sites are too small to fit both a trailer and a truck. After managing to get ourselves situated, we checked into the Visitor Center to register. There we encountered the World's Crankiest Ranger. She refused to offer any information about the park, we had to beg for trail maps, and registering was an unpleasant ordeal. Let's hope it will be her day off when you visit.
The park's museum is tiny and bare bones. Most of the historic information can be gleaned from the excellent signage on the loop trail, which points out the significance of the sites. There is a splendid, easy trail that runs alongside the two rivers which surround the hilltop mounds. You can see lovely rapids and waterfalls along the way. Not sure I would visit again though, solely due to the tight campground roads. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a rustic park, but many trees and shade. The bathrooms were older, pretty clean but not maintained while we were there. Also to note, the bathrooms in our camping area were only toilets and sinks, the showers were down the road, not quite as clean and also had bathrooms with them. Unfortunately, we had tent campers behind us that stayed up until 2 AM and talked very loud, so it was difficult sleeping. It was pretty close to the interstate and to enter the campground one had to cross over a one lane bridge. Would have liked to know that in advance! We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

Arrived at dark and left next day so really didn't see much of campground or facilities. Rate at TN state parks is good but as stated prior, parks appear to suffer from lack of needed repairs and updates likely from lack of funds from state. Online reservation site set up few years ago is wonderful and should help their occupancy rates, I hope. Staff was friendly, park was adequate. Lacked needed signage for directions getting there. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Got the off season-senior rate which was well worth it. The facilities are ancient but clean. Paved but some level, some not level sites. Moss growing on most of the shaded sites. Very narrow bridge across the river to access, but otherwise easy in and out for all but the longest motorhome/5th wheel combos. 5th wheels would be very hard to maneuver around. Lots of low, poor drainage areas, so we bet the mosquitoes would be terrible in season. One other point, the signage from the interstate to the park is poor, so use the GPS. Maybe 2 miles from the interstate, though We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

Got to stay here a couple of nights as I went back and forth across the state. Friendly people. Being Sept. there was still room on a Saturday night. Later in the week when I stayed a second time it was almost empty. Showers and restrooms were clean, bug free, and well ventilated. I would like to come here again if I get the chance. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Tent.

Very nice state park campground with friendly workers. We walked from the campground to the museum and hiking trails. Lots of trees: it is doable in a Class A but a little tight in spots. My husband says, "Better know how to drive your big boy before visiting this park." We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

Some spots are not well drained. Heavily wooded sites so no satellite TV. Great hiking trails at the Stone Fort along the Duck River. I would readily stay here again. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Motorhome.

This an older park with an new bridge at its campground entrance. This is NOT A BIG RIG PARK. The bridge is narrow with low weight limits. Trees are low and roads are narrow. This is a fantastic park for small travel trailers and pop-ups, with lots of trees in a natural setting. The web site for the park mentions the bridge but does not mention the width or weight restrictions. Great area for nature lovers. Did not accept Golden Access Pass as Tenn did in the past. The campground was well shaded and quiet. The rangers were nice and helpful. There some walking trails. Beware of the Stone Fort trail, it has a lot of bluffs, very dangerous for children. The museum was very interesting and there are a few demonstrations. We did have electrical problems which was isolated to the first loop of the campground. The breaker was overloading and we were without electricity half of the time we were there. From what we understand it was a problem last year too. Good place to camp for a couple of nights, but not really a whole lot to do. We camped at Old Stone Fort State Park in a Travel Trailer.
