Stayed here for two nights on our drive to New Mexico. Park was very nice and well kept. The only problem we had was with the TV reception and lack of Cell Phone coverage. Could only get around 6 channels on Using the antenna and the 6 channels did not include ABC, CBS or NBC. We have Verizon for our cell phone service and the signal was very weak, if you are lucky to have any signal at all. Would not have been an issue but I depend on having decent cell phone signal for our business, lots of dropped calls We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

The park is large, mostly shaded level sites. The camp host and rangers are very visible and helpful. Site fairly level - only negative is no sewer, but pumpout station at entrance/exit to campground. It was easy to drive in to Beale St, museums and Graceland. We enjoyed our stay and will be back to visit this park as well as the area museums we didn't have time for. The turns/overhangs in and out of the park are tight, but doable. Memphis isn't known for their road quality, so there are some bumps, but again doable. Facilities very clean. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rizzos for dinner and Sunday brunch; Civil Rights Museum, Rock and Soul museum were fabulous. Rizzos was easily our favorite restaurant in Memphis.

This is a hidden gem right outside Memphis. We stayed here for three nights and it was perfect. Not a lot of people and the camp host, right when we arrived, told us our site that we had reserved would not be a good one for our larger trailer. He found us a "better one." He didn't need to do that but he did. The Ranger also came around to offer me a refund since I had to reserve two time (changed itinerary so needed to add a day and was easier to just make a whole new reservation). Told me I over paid and refunded me some money. Didn't need to do that. VERY peaceful and out of the city life. However, close to Graceland (10 minutes) and Beale Street by 20 minutes. Did laundry here and very cheap and great machines. Would definitely stay here again if in Memphis and/or recommend this to people. There is also a community pool that campers can use for a small fee. We didn't use it but looked at it and it was large. The only issue was we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the office is closed...we had to knock on the door and luckily a lady in there was able to tell us what site we were on and to notify the camp host that we were coming. No biggie, however. We would have just driven to the campsite and looked for the camp host. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Graceland, Beale Street, Civil Rights museum, see the Peabody ducks at 11 and/or 5 pm, Sun Recording Tours. Eat some good food. We drove an hour into Arkansas to Dyess to see Johnny Cash's Boy hood home which is taken care of by Arkansas State Univesity. THE BEST SIDE TRIP! The town was founded only in the early 1930's as part of FDR's New Deal. So much history and so interesting.

This park is peaceful & quiet. The Camp host & his dog, BB, have been EXCELLENT! Park Rangers are wonderful! There is sewer but only a dump station toward the entrance/exit. I LOVE it here! There is a laundry/shower/restroom building with a huge ice machine. The dryers get nice and hot! I would recommend this park to everyone! It is located within 15 minutes of all attractions and easy to navigate. If you have children, there is a playground area. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park has been occupied but equally empty during my stay. They do take credit cards via the Park Ranger. I called about an hour ahead of my arrival and reserved a site. Beale Street, Bass Pro Shop Pyramid, Graceland, the Memphis Zoo and other attractions are all within 15 minutes. Also within 15-20 minutes is the Mississippi State line where I found many shops including a Dollar Tree and WalMart. Would I come back? ABSOLUTELY!

Made reservations based on the 4 star ratings. Must have hit a bad time cause this place stunk to high heaven. Seems they built a waste treatment plant right next to the park. The host with the pitbull tells us this is the way it is when it gets humid, isn't Memphis always humid? Oh well, we left and found another campground. Had to eat the cost of the Park, no refunds on the day of arrival. In general the place looked okay, sites were not too close, the bath houses looked pretty new although we did not go in and look around. The park is in a fairly rundown part of town. Think I'll pass on this one in the future. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

An overall pleasant park close in South Memphis. Easy access from freeway and roads inside are easy to navigate for even large rigs. There are both back in and pull through sites. Park is well maintained. Trash cans are convenient and emptied regularly. There is recycling for plastic and aluminum at the bath house. Water and electric are easy to access. Type of water spigots that cannot be set on a low pressure so do not plan on filling your tank with fresh water before you leave. No wifi but my Verizon worked but probably only because I have a booster because it only got one bar. Ranger and park host are on site at all times. Host is always busy around the park making sure things are running smoothly. Only complaint was on my third night there were planes going overhead what seemed like every ten minutes during the night until 1 in the morning. I have no explanation. There is no shopping nearby but across the border in Mississippi in Southhaven is all you could want or need. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nicer drive into Memphis by going west along Mitchell Rd to Riverfront. For great breakfast or lunch try the Blue Plate Cafe downtown. Great southern cooking in a pleasant atmosphere at reasonable prices. Great vegetable plate for vegetarians. The Sun Studio tour is fun as is the Stax Museum. Then there is the Lorraine Motel with the Civil Rights Museum. There is a reasonably priced riverboat tour along the Memphis waterfront. There is also a new pedestrian/rail/bicycle bridge across the river.

This State Park was OK with exception of the site assigned to us was very rough and not level. We did move after getting permission but since the park was only 25% full we felt they could have put us in a decent site to start with. The bathrooms and showers were not good and this is probably due to not being kept up but also a real lack of attention by the camp host. We would think twice about staying there again. Fair.

Arrival: Approach from the north (most common) has many chuck-holes and RR tracks. The registration office is separate from the campground. The park itself has tight spots but is passable. Limited parking for rigs, but it is capable. They close at 4:30 PM so if you're late, you'll have to pull in and then go back in the morning.

Sites: Use caution with all the sites, especially the pull-thru's -- they are short. Don't expect to park more than your rig. Expect gravel sites and limited area. Water and electric on some sites are at the rear so front tanks require longer hoses.

Restrooms: Dirty. Open shower plan that only those that are brave enough to use. Trash and bugs prevail.

Cost: $28. 10% Good Sam's discount. Survivable for a short stay.

Local Area: Just outside Memphis. You'll have to drive through some very unsavory neighborhoods between all the attractions, but main roads seem safe enough.

Internet: None. Sketchy cell-coverage due to location and surrounding trees. Not sure about satellite, but there are no clear-view sites for your dish to have easy access.

Other: Bugs! Get used to it... it's the south. Between the bugs, the shrubs, and the location it just doesn't make a visitor want to visit again. Staff seemed to care less...about everything. Lots of "killer" dogs including the camp host that drives around in his Gator with a pit bull... that's comparatively well behaved. When we were there the numerous "killer" dogs of the other guests made us quite uneasy. Will not stay there again. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great place. The ranger office was closed, but a ranger nearby told us where to find the campground manager. We were allowed to check in early, and were offered other sites as there were openings and people had previously complained about the site we were assigned. Bathrooms, showers, laundry, an ice machine, and a playground. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring mosquito repellant. It's hot and humid, welcome to Memphis. Go downtown during the day and walk Main St and other streets off of Union. Graceland is not far from the campground if Elvis is your thing. Try some BBQ. Beale Street is nice, but there are some areas downtown that are high-crime. Never before have I entered a restaurant with armed security inside. Don't get far from Beale Street (there is a strong police presence) after dark.

Park is spacious and well laid out. A lot of room between sights. Most sites are large enough to accommodate any size RV. Downside is the pervasive foul odor reminiscent of parking next to a feed lot or open sewer. Will not stay here again. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

We travel in a 45' coach w/ towed SUV. To arrive at the state park, we decided to enter & exit via Hwy 61, Mitchell Ave. exit. This exit is much better than trying to navigate city streets to get to the state park. Once we entered the park, there is a large tree at the turn in the campground. My suggestion is if you have a towed vehicle, to disconnect prior to entering the campground. Found the description of the campsites accurite. The 2 ADA sites are concrete and very nice. Very close to the bathouse/laundry building. Watch overhead for low-hanging branches. We stayed in the ADA camp site, both ADA sites are very long and can accept any length RV. Electric was good - same with water. The dump station is a bit tight. Odors from the sewer lift station were present, but we kept our windows closed. Older campground, but very accessible to exploring Memphis. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

We were greeted by the friendly and helpful ranger upon arrival. Hosts on site as well.

Facilities were super clean and wheel chair accessible. Clean laundry room: $1 to wash load.

Level, paved spacious sites. Two wheel chair accessible sites. Easy hookups.

Lots to do at this historic park, the first open to African Americans east of the Mississippi. Hiking, numerous recreation activities and archeological site. About 11 miles from Beale Street, Memphis. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean and quiet park, but a bit rundown. Our water spigot was broken, but was promptly repaired. They were not surprised it had broken again. Spacious site complete with fire pit, grill and picnic table. Nice trail surrounds park. Ancient Indian village remains and museum on property. Very convenient to Graceland and downtown Memphis. That would have been the end of my review, but we decided to stay one more day due to rain and possible thunderstorms (rather stay put than drive). The next morning while taking the dogs on a loop around the campground and packing up, the whole campground reeked of sewerage. Since there are no sewer hookups at the sites, this did not make sense; the dump station was quite a distance away. I mentioned the smell to the camp host and was informed that after it rains the waste water treatment plant next door puts out this odor. I had to take a few points off for the smell. We camped at T. O. Fuller State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Our RV GPS tried to route us off the main stretch of road to the park to go through a neighborhood. I am guessing because there are No Truck signs posted on the road. Besides a old bridge, it is safe to stay on the main road. The road continues out of the park, so I assume they don't want commercial traffic cutting through the park.
