We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the stay. The ride up 51 is a little long with the traffic lights and traffic, but getting on base through the Singleton Ave gate is easy. Once you're through the gate, it's only a couple of quick right turns to the park. There is a mailbox at the entry of the park with site and check in information. We were not greeted by the camp host, so we just went to the back and picked an empty site.

The layout makes it very easy to back in, but be careful of your rear stabilizers as there is a decent hill entering each site. Sites are concrete and more than big enough for any size rig. Not a whole lot of shade throughout the park. Utilities were fine and no issue with placement of hookups. WiFi worked well, no cable, but plenty of over the air channels. Many long term residents had satellite dishes out, so looks like a clear line of sight for that. The laundry has two new washers and two new dryers that are free. The laundry/bathhouse is clean and we'll kept.

My only complaint is the requirement of checking in with the camp host then having to go to the rec office across base to pay for the site. Seems redundant to me.

All in all it is a very nice park, even though we don't plan on returning to Memphis, we would stay there again if passing through. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Best place we've camped in yet! Free excellent wifi, free laundry, full hookups, spacious sites, all base services (commissary, NEX, package store, gym, etc). The south gate is closed on weekends and nonbusiness hours (not mentioned on website) but you can get in the main gate on Navy Road. They also need instructions on how to use those beautiful new eco friendly washers. All in all, this is a great campground for the money. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Beale Street, Gibson Guitar Factory, Sun Recording Studio, Civil Rights Museum are all 15 minutes away in Memphis.

One of the best of 18 military base campgrounds we've visited this year.

Very easy in/ out of the base via the south gate. Great sites, level and plenty of room to get into the site. Easy walk to the commissary.

New washers and dryers.

No CG rec room/ area.

Typical military base services. Friendly staff at all locations.

We will be back to spend a week or more for an extended visit to Memphis. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Memphis Zoo - get discounted tickets at ITT - excellent mid-sized zoo

Fantastic park. Easy access through South Gate (when it is actually open, so call ahead to verify which gate to use) and right behind the Commissary. Very easy to maneuver even the largest rigs and trailers in here, once you get past the front gates. Plenty of wide, level, paved spaces with picnic tables. Laundry facilities and bathroom (toilet in a stall, dual sinks and vanities in womens, urinal and single sink in mens) showers were great (so clean my wife said she'd go barefoot in them), water pressure throughout facility was good. Two free, high-efficiency front-loader washers that featured a 'short-wash' cycle (perfect for RV worn clothes) and two free dryers. The entire building doubles as a lounge with a huge table for folding your laundry, iron and ironing board (just like berthing back on the ship!!!), comfy chairs, cable TV, relatively current magazines and a desk/chair in case you bring your laptop. Best part of the facility was the cleaning crew that showed up every morning and left the place spotless! The only downside was waiting for people to come and fetch their laundry, leaving several guests waiting their turn. Dumpster was near our space, but there was no recycling program noted and I'm uncertain if the waste management company has a sorting facility for recycling. Wifi was good around the park (our antenna was next to the laundry), and from our spot we had clear HD signal from both Dish and OTA antenna, which yielded a dozen regular TV channels and another dozen shopping/religious/ESL channels, all with crystal clear signal. South end of the park has a row of tall trees that could provide shade in summer months, but may also interfere with your dish. Other spaces had trees around them, but they were not so dense that they'd block the signal. Sprint and AT&T had good service, but we didn't need to use our Hotspot devices. We can certainly understand why this is such a popular FamCamp, and will eagerly stay here again! We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make reservations at one of the joints down on Beale Street for some great live blues and amazing food.

The front gate was the only one open at the time we arrived. We had used the Singleton gate before which was/is more convenient, but was not open the time. Pros: The price is very nice and so is the convenience to the base exchange and commissary. The lots are nicely spaced and allow for plenty of room between other campers. Cons: Slabs are breaking and not all the utility pole lights work. Not a lot of things to do at this site, but it provides a nice stopping point. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Travel Trailer.

An excellent park. All concrete back-in sites with full hook-ups. Camp host showed up immediately upon arrival to answer questions and offer assistance. The park is behind the commissary and within a few hundred yards of the south gate (which appears to be the only 24 hour gate). Sites are arranged in a spoke and circle pattern making for easy maneuvering. Check in was by telephone. A few sites were inoperative due to a plumbing problem. Each site has a picnic table with concrete patio. The park is very quiet with a few shade trees, but mostly open areas with well maintained grass surrounding concrete pads. Signage on the base was better than normal with arrows directing the way to most facilities. A fair-to-good Verizon LTE signal. The park was about 50% vacant at the time of our visit. We would happily stay again. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a month visiting family. The sites are spacious, and park is very quiet. A lot of trailers are rental units. We had no problems checking in. We had reservations, but they were able to get us in a day early also. Upon arrival, we picked a site #, called ITT, confirmed the site and was told to come in within an hour to pay. Withing 5 min., a gentleman (not the park host) was there to turn on our water and answer any questions we had. Wireless Internet was offered, but it was VERY slow, when you could get on. Bathhouse was kept very clean. Water pressure in men's shower was great, but women's was very low. Washers worked well, but dryers normally took 2 cycles unless really small. Commissary was within walking distance. Post Exchange was very close. Memphis was a short 25 minutes away. We enjoyed the park and will be back. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground. Good level, spacious sites. WI-FI works great. Reservations accepted, although check-in can be a little confusing. If you have a reservation, you can call the day of arrival and get your space number, otherwise, a sign at entrance of park says to see camp host in space #20. All we found in space #20 was two "four wheelers" and some personal items. Check in is at ITT office near BX. Laundry leaves a lot to be desired. Only two washers (one not working) and two dryers (slow). We have stayed here before and will stay again. We camped at Midway RV Park (Military Camping Only) in a Motorhome.
