2 Parks near Newport, Tennessee
Oct 2015 - $35.00
This was an overnight stop on a cross-country trip. We had reservations and were assigned a pull-through space.
The access to the campground is unusual -- you turn into a driveway and then wind through a neighborhood, through a forested area (narrow street) and one-lane bridge to get to the campground entrance. The campground roads are gravel and slightly hilly, but no problem making it into the site.
This campground is immediately next to I-40, so there is substantial road noise even though it appears to be in a forested area. OK for an overnight stay but definitely not a place I'd call a destination. - expdek570
Mar 2015 - $35.00
This was an overnight stay. Was typical koa. Staff was friendly, Entrance road is long with business/homes along the road to this road is probably 2 way but barely. Even though CG entrance is 1.5 miles from Interstate, road back to CG takes you back in the direction of the interstate so there is road noise. We would stay here again if in the area. - chiavet
Jul 2014 - $50.00
We used this as a stay over and it could be a really nice campground if managed properly. It had a nice big pool that wasn't as clean as we would've hoped for. The restrooms were updated but not real well kept. All in all we had a pretty good time but I wouldn't recommend it as is. - CLPEAD
Jul 2015 - $35.00
Under new ownership. New name Tana-See. New owners are fixing up and taking pride in the park. Targeting families. Restrooms older but freshly painted and clean. Office staff beyond friendly and very accommodating. Sites are gravel with hookups. 5 sites are pull-through. Other sites are back in...not sure how many they have. Pool has new liner and is clean. Homemade mini golf. Play area and games. "Train ride" with engine being a lawn mower. Picnic shelter with stage. Pond for fishing. New electric, water, and sewer at the sites. New picnic tables at each site. We are here on July 4th. They had a free hamburger, hot dog and chip cookout with all the trimmings and you could take sides. Games for the kids. Fireworks. New owner is great. This is just off 40 so easy access and great for our overnight. They have cable TV with 24 channels and the Wi-Fi is great!
We would come here again. - BorntoCruise

Jul 2012 - $29.00
This place is going in the wrong direction. The bad include a picnic table that needed tossed, rules and rules and rules and rules for the use of the pool (and every thing else too). The posted price for this place is $40 (plus tax) a night. The sites have a desperate need of attention. The lack of gravel and updates on the electric box are very near future issues. Be careful of the electric. There is only 30 amp here in this campground. The good include location to the interstate, the pool (nice but watch out for the RULES), and the pond. The pond was neat. It was catch and release and was super! There were two other smaller ponds and all of them had a great spray in the middle of them. The neutral include level sites for the most part and the water. This park does have wifi, horseshoe pits, a playground, put put, and a pavilion. The pavilion is nice too. There is a storage lot right next door to this place. It does make for some traffic in the park. The bathhouses here need attention. They are dated and are in need of updating. They were looked at while we were here but not cleaned. I noticed the trash was never emptied the entire time we were here. The showers were not cleaned. The management here lacks. They have these rules and they are very picky about them. The price I paid was $29 a night. It was not worth the money I paid. I am uncertain if I will stay here again. - mudhound
