We needed a place to stay for one night, but had to pay for two nights. We understood that coming in, so this is not a complaint. Our campsite overlooked the lake that was lovely. Our site was oddly shaped, so that we had to park right next to the road in order to reach the utilities. We had a huge amount of space that we would have liked to have used to get away from folks driving on the road. The campsite across from us had a motor home, 3 cars, 2 trucks, a boat on a trailer, and a golf cart parked along the side of the road. This meant that vehicles driving through swerved to our side of the road. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Just a few miles from the George Dickel Distillery and a half hour from the Jack Daniels Distillery. Both distillery tours are very interesting, and very different from each other.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here two nights. Exit 105 on I-24 and take signs to Normandy Dam. Check-in is easy and camp hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Paved interior roads easy to navigate and gravel sites. Our site PT faced the water with partial shade and is not level but manageable. Water and electric worked well. Zero (ATT) reception. A lot of green space with oak trees and pines to walk your dog. Most sites are occupied by locals with trailers and 5th wheels that reserve for thru the summer season. Very elaborate setups with canopies, outdoor furniture, smokers, etc. Everything is neat and clean. Boats are available thru the CG and locals bring their boats and park them on the shoreline. Great place to get away from everything. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to George A. Dickel distillery (5mi) and 30min. to Jack Daniel's in Lynchburg. Definitely do the distillery tours especially the George A. Dickel tour for $10.98/person that includes 4 samples. The tour is done in small groups and personalized. Also eat at the Bell Buckle Café in Bell Buckle. Great local food.

Second trip this year, we enjoyed the fall colors and the craft fair in in Bell Buckle. The campground is in good condition with the hosts being pleasant and helpful. Please note that the utility hookups are on the wrong side so make sure you bring adequate length of hose. Loop C has the most shade, however it is not on the water. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Tent Trailer.

We love coming to Barton Springs. The camp host are always so friendly. My daughter brings her kayak and bike every trip here. Cell service is bad but nothing against that, you are suppose to be roughing it. All 3 bathrooms are very clean. Each site is very roomy. All sites are pull-through. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

You are 10 minutes from Tullahoma if you need anything from the bank, Krogers, Walmart to dining out. I highly recommend Dunham's sporting good store for a kayak. Best prices we could find.

Overall Rating:

Stayed the first week of May to fish Lake Normandy and float the Duck River. Campground was in good shape, however the bathrooms had timed water in the shower and sinks which made it hard to use. Camp hosts and other campers were both friendly, helpful, and helpful. We were told continued work on the bathrooms are planned and additional work on the campsites were planned. We had a great time and will return. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

George Dickel Distillery is close by, the River Restaurant in Normandy, and of all things Captain D in Tullahoma is worth the drive. Floating the Duck River was great along with catching 3 to 4lb small mouth and largemouth bass on Lake Normandy.

Sites are semi-circle pull-throughs. A little hard to level since all sites drain towards lake. Sites nearest to lake will flood with heavy rains. Do not follow GPS, call for directions but be sure you talk to the right person. We called for directions but we're told the wrong exit. Called again when couldn't find it and the person we spoke with said she wasn't from the area and no one was there to help. Gave us phone number for another campground in the area who had someone who could give us directions. We had to turn around in a church parking lot with a 40 ft motorhome. Drove around for almost an hour but finally found it. If given right directions it is very easy to find. All other personnel very, very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery. Nicely treed but can still get satellite reception. Bathrooms dated. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with great views of Normandy Lake. All sites are pull thrus. Park staff was great. Each site had nice picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Close to distilleries and other attractions. If you do camp here, do not follow your gps! We found out after following ours over some pretty narrow twisting roads and one very bad railroad crossing that for some reason, most GPS units send people in this way when there is a very easy route using 2 wide nice roads if you exit the interstate 2 exits down. Take the exit that says Normandy Dam instead. I suggest getting directions from the campground and not use your GPS at all. Otherwise, it is a beautiful campground. Will definitely be going back there and staying longer. The only downside, is the lack of FHU. The sites don't have sewer, but the dump station is easily accessible when you leave. If it had sewers, this would be a 10. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Fifth Wheel.

After checking with Verizon Wireless to determine whether you could get their signal in this area, and they said there was no signal there, we were pleasantly surprised to find there is a Verizon signal here, a little slow on sunny days, slower or very weak on cloudy days, but adequate most of the time for what we needed. No problem getting Dish signal. About 5 miles to Normandy with 1 restaurant open on weekends only, about 10 miles to Manchester or Tullahoma with many more restaurants and shopping. Our GPS took us in on a strange route, but once you know the area you can navigate easily and roads are in very good condition. We enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Fifth Wheel.

Golden Access rate $11. No sewer hookups. Most RVs had sewer totes sitting by their drains. Many monthly campers are located here and no reservations are taken. Had a great water front site, "if" the lake hadn't been down 5-6 feet. Water that would have been at the edge of the concrete patio normally was 300-400 feet away. However we would return if our travels brings us back to the area. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Motorhome.

Normandy Campground is beautiful. For those of you who haven't been there: there are 3 public showers/restrooms and lots of lake sites, the sites are 50/30/110 electric and water. There are picnic tables and BBQ stands and fire pits at each site. There is a beach area with sand and a boat dock just for the camp ground and a public use boat dock. On the negative side: some sites were a little too close together; and a few more trees would have been nice. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Travel Trailer.

The first mistake we made was to come here on a holiday weekend. Noise from our neighboring campsites continued on to near midnight. Noise came from power boats on the lake early in the morning. The campground was totally full. We got the last site. Other than that - this would be a nice place to come stay. Sites are very large. Some have utilities, some don't. Some sites are on the lake. Nice swimming area. Sites were fairly clean and maintained. The good thing is you can use your Golden Access card to get camping for half price. We camped at Barton Springs Campground-Normandy Reservoir in a Fifth Wheel.
