There are 45 non handicap sites of which I would say only 6 sites are level enough for a camper greater than 30 foot. All sites are paved but are in great need of repair. The sites are roomy and offer good privacy. The bathhouse is very clean. If you are in need of a level site, you are best to go to the TVA dam campground. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Catfish Hotel is an excellent place to eat. RB Barbaque is a good place for breakfast. Can't comment on the ribs as they were out. The pulled pork was excellent. Stay away from the Rib Cage. The food is terrible as is the service.

We arrived after 4:30 so welcome center was closed. We finally found campground after twisting past the Marina and then called the number at the gate house (also closed because of time and too early in season.) A ranger came quickly and got us registered. We took a handicapped site for my wife and got a discount (either for that, or because we are old, not sure.) It was one of the few level sites. Not only are sites not level, but many have broken asphalt and are narrow. However, the area is beautiful, well cared for, and fun. We were there to see the Shilo/Corinth battlefields and relax. Met all our needs. Disappointments though, with lack of tourist info in the welcome center, single bath house with lukewarm shower water, and poor condition of so many sites. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Others have mentioned and we concur: Hagy's Catfish Hotel near Shilo battlefield had LOTS of really good food. We tried both catfish and country ham and redeye gravy. We also checked out the Outpost; lots of food at reasonable price. If you go to Corinth try the local pharmacy for an old fashioned soda fountain with huge milkshakes (they give you the container with the extra shake in it, and great burgers, phosphates, and ya gotta try a slug burger.

Very nice park, but most of the sites are not level. Ours required minimal leveling, but some are significant. Full shade and large sites make it nice. Dump station and dumpsters are nearby. The park is very boat-centric, with a large marina and rentals. There are also 2 swimming beachs and a couple of short hiking trails. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Savannah is 15 miles away and a very nice historic town. Grant had HQ here during Shiloh battle. Battlefield is 10 miles from campsite and one of the best in the nation.

The park is right on the river below the dam. The campsites are spacious and well-maintained. The only complaint was that there were only 2 showers in each bathhouse and 3 bathhouses for the campground. It is quite a large area for such few amenities. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We visited midweek during a chilly rainy week, so we had pretty much our pick of a site. Despite this, it was nearly impossible to find a site that was level enough, even with a full set of leveling blocks under 2 wheels. The site we finally settled for was quite muddy, with a stream flowing across the pad during the heaviest rain. Though the shower room was clean and heated, the water was barely lukewarm, making for a bracing experience on a cold day. Very friendly helpful staff, and very attractive price. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

I had read good reviews of this state park. Do NOT attempt to camp here in a large motorhome. I had called in advance and said I was in a 37 ft motorhome towing. I was told no problem. This state park is not equipped to handle large motor homes and the site map is not correct. The sites are unlevel and the water is on the wrong side of the motorhome. There were several empty sites when we arrived but only one that we could get the MH into and we were unable to level the MH. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

As others have said, the sites aren't close to level. I was lucky there was a 6" thick concrete slab left by a previous camper that I could use to level up side to side. Other than that we liked everything else about the park. Bring your chocks and blocks and enjoy the spacious sites with lots of trees between neighbors. Plenty of room for dogs to run and swim. If you have no sense of smell and you only want to fish in the TN river, this place might work for you. The area is overlaid with a nauseating miasma of paper pulp mill - I thought the sewer had backed up at first. Concrete pads are barely long & wide enough for a motor coach and require backing in, no pull-throughs. The view available is of a large bean field. Immediately adjacent is a no-star motel (the historic Botel) containing a road house which plays loud music until midnight. Stray dogs and cats roam the park, making walking even well trained dogs challenging. Located 1/4 mile from the water, which is only accessible down a steep, narrow boat ramp. We had reservations for the weekend, but left the next morning. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived at the campground and had to wait while the campground host sorted out two earlier arrivals. Once we made it to our site, it was so unlevel that we immediately sought out the host, who of course could not then be found. We arranged an informal three way swap with a recent arrival who wanted to move to set up his satellite dish in the dense tall pines, so we were then level. That afternoon, the ranger graciously accommodated all of our changes. Sites looked generally short for big rigs, and the roads were tight, but we did see a couple of 40 footers in sites. The paper mill nearby in Counce smelled bad there, but we never smelled it at the campground. There is very little shopping for quite some distance so come prepared for your needs. OTA TV reception was minimal with a couple channels from Jackson, Verizon air card worked well, as did our Tracfone. On our second day, ongoing work on the water system left us without water for a while (and the need to back around the road to exit the park with the motorhome). This is a good, rustic campground for visiting Shiloh battlefield and the famous Catfish Hotel nearby to the battlefield (provided the wait isn't too long as it was last week on the 150th anniversary of the battle of Shiloh). We'd stay in this park again when in the area. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

If you have a big rig you need to get there early to pick a site which you can get into and is fairly level. You cannot make reservations here. It is a quiet park and very shaded. If I stayed in this area again I would probably stay below the dam. Mainly because its more level. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pickwick Landing State Park was a real gem. We had read the previous reviews; trains, and foul smells from a  pulp factory, along with uneven sites were mentioned. We decided it would still be a good spot (for us) to stay while touring Shiloh and Corinth Civil War sites. The train was nonexistent, no foul smells (to us anyway), and, yes, the sites were not very level and in disrepair. We were able to find a semi-level spot and use our auto levelers to finish the job. TV reception was great, our Verizon MiFi card worked great, water and 50 amp service, with a dump station as you drive out of the park and quiet as can be in a beautiful wooded setting with the Inn and Lake within walking distance. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

We were one of 5 or 6 campers in the whole campground. All of the spots were shaded and most were not very level. There was very little sign of an attendant. Very quiet and peaceful. Bath house was clean. There is a wood pulp factory that is close by and does smell from time to time. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We stayed here while visiting Shiloh. Some of the sites were not even, but there were enough to pick from that were level. The restrooms and showers were clean. This is a very nice state park and we would stay here again. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a resort park with a marina, Inn and Conference Center. The lake and river offers fishing, boating, swimming and there is a good restaurant in the Inn with some great deals. There is a golf course across the street that is part of the park and a hiking trail that goes for 2.8 miles around the woods and lake. We arrived during a violent storm in the south with tornadoes, hail, thunder and lightning but we were lucky that it was north of us and south of us and by three in the afternoon the sun came out and the sky was blue. Sites are not that level so we moved on after one night to another campground in the area. Only a few other campers at this time of year. We camped at Pickwick Landing State Park in a Motorhome.

Easy to find campground in a wooded setting with paved interior roads. The paved sites are generally level with ample space between sites. Attendant disappears but there is a host on site. Water pressure and electric is good. No sewer. A good place to stay to visit the Shiloh Battlefield and the Corinth battle sites. Very quiet and peaceful.
