This is an older park, the roads need work but they didn't impact our stay. Buildings and amenities are old and could use some work but they are clean and functional. We stayed a few days just to recharge our batteries so to speak. My husband caught small bass kayak fishing. AT&T cell coverage was good. Getting into the park was no problem. The roads inside the park are narrow but not an issue. The staff is super nice here and drove us around in a golf cart to pick out our site before driving through pulling our fifth wheel. Would stay again as a place to stay while traveling again. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

I was disappointed that there were no FHU sites that were also 50 AMP available. The pool was beautiful and very refreshing. We rode mountain bikes around the facility every day. The laundry room was adequate ($1.50 to wash, $0.50 to dry), although I had to cycle the clothes 3 times in the dryer on high heat before they were fully dry (3 times on medium heat and they were still damp). The roads appear to just be poorly maintained. We did see several people on just water&electric sites that just left their sewer hose open to the ground to drain off their grey water. The "clubhouse" looked functional, but also just a bit neglected. There was no WiFi that we were able to find access to during our stay. The Verizon & AT&T data and cell coverage was functional (4G LTE, and 2-3 bars throughout most of the park). The setting is beautiful and very relaxing. Almost full coverage shade on our site, though it was a bit treacherous and not many sites in that area were easy to achieve mostly level accommodations. We would likely stay here again if in the area. Our site was at no cost because of our Thousand Trails membership. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A nearby town of Bolivar offered a great tire shop with very reasonable prices for RV tires. I shopped at the grocery store and it was very modest and did not offer much by way of variety/selection., fine for most staples. We did not venture into Memphis or any other larger metropolitan areas.

Here is another park in the system where the manager is working hard to update and improve it. We had 30 amp full hookups. There are some 50 amp sites. Level site some shade. Nice 2 mile walking trail. Stocked lake for catch and release. Working to set up a pickleball court. Sites are far enough apart to be private. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

Thousand trails. 50amp with sewer were taken by annuals. Very small unlevel sites. Back in the 1970's would be great. Small trailers or tents camping would be great. Definitely NOT for big rigs. Will only stay here again if desperate. Park is quite and peaceful. Only 19 rv's here. 300ish plus sites available We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Thousand Trails. As with most NACO parks, this reserve has plenty of trees and is rustic. We used as a base for the greater Memphis area. Many of the sites are definitely only for smaller campers/tents, but when we went there were plenty of open larger spots. Note that the 50 Amp sites did not have sewer. We found a 50 Amp site though close to the pool, with nice shade, yet with satellite access. The pool was very clean and nice. The showers near the pool were clean but the bathroom/showers near the site did not look like they had been cleaned well for a while. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Thousand Trails. The campground says they have 50amp but there are only about 4 of them. They say they have sewer but again its only about 4 of them. They do have 2 dump sites, one per section. Even though they say they have almost 300 sites, most of them are not usable for anything other than a pop up or tent. We were very disappointed with this campground in the Thousand Trails portfolio. To find an appropriate site its best to stop after you check in and walk the campground. Both areas. Many of the sites are very skinny with a drop off on one or both sides. There are some nice sites. We found one on the lake that was very nice. The roads are terrible which is another reason to walk the campground first to find you site. And their idea of pull thru sites is also just minimal. I would have to be pretty desperate to stay here again. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

We originally didn't find this because in the PA book this is listed under Sualsbury. We were expecting a resort but found a property that fell far short. We agree with previous comments about its once glory days. Pluses are it's very quiet and not crowded. The pool is huge! The scenery is great, and if you come here with kids there are several things you can do with them. Minuses are that Wi-Fi is very slow and only available at the lodge. Roads are in poor shape and the atmosphere is almost like a ghost town. Make sure you bring a flyswatter for the horseflies. PS...don't let your GPS bring you the wrong way (along a narrow, bumpy old state road). Use the route 7 route! We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a couple of days and pretty much had the section of the park to ourselves and a herd of deer! It is a tired park, but with nice pool, putt-putt, bathhouse/laundry and clubhouse. Staff was friendly and the place was well-kept and clean. I enjoyed looking around, enjoying the wild life and watching fantastic night skies. No road noise, trains, or airplanes! The clubhouse sits overlooking the lake, and there is a footbridge to the cabins. We would stay again. Shopping/restaurants are a a few miles away, and Memphis is 50 miles if you want to do the city. This is a very large, tired, old park. Roads are in poor repair and are hilly. Level sites not in the majority. Reception was very friendly and helpful. There are a couple of pullthrough sites, about 15 full hookup, and just two 50A. I would not feel comfortable with a rig longer than 36' maneuvering into most sites. The pool is large and very nice. But overall the park needs a serious upgrade. I would stay here again if it fit in my travel plans. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

This probably once was a nice campground. It is situated on a number of hills and the roads wander up and down, steeply. Roads are in poor repair. Most of the sites looked like they hadn't been used in years. Most were small and not even close to level. If you want rustic, this place will do, but it is very run down. "Lake" was a slimy pond. I can't imagine why anyone would stay here. We lasted 2 days and that was 2 days too long. The power fluctuations were so bad I feared possible damage and I was on 50 amp. The roads are one pot hole after another and sites are unlevel. My rate reflects ROD membership. I will not return. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

We loved the park but it has some serious downsides. Number 1 is the directions AND GPS coordinates are not accurate at all; it's a tough one to find. The other problem is site size; most all the sites are going to be unusable by the newer modern RV's. Our 5th wheel is 41 ft long and we could only use probably 20 at the most of the sites. It's very quiet, and beautiful, it just needs an upgrade of the site size. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

As a member of Resorts of Distinction, this campground was no charge - it wasn't worth much more than this. The 30 Amp power only gave us about 100 volts. Fortunately we were only there one night and didn't need the AC. The pull thru site was so unlevel that my front wheels were 4 inches off the ground. It was convenient to our route, but far from any kind of tourist areas. We will NOT return. We camped at Cherokee Landing, NACO Preserve in a Motorhome.

This is an old park that was built before the big campers of today. Many sites were not wide enough for today's rigs. There are about 10 sewer sites and all but two of them are unusable for rigs longer than about 20 feet. However, on the plus side, the park was clean and well tended and the staff was friendly.
