This is the premier campground in TN, and it's big, and busy. However given all the traffic they have no after-hours checkin policy, unlike other parks that have you call the desk at the Inn (which they do have) there are no instructions on the door or number to call etc. The campground itself is nice: good, tidy sites; individual trash bins, etc. However some of the sites are narrow and so are the camp roads. It was interesting backing our 30' camper into it's spot without being able to swing very wide due to the neighbors being in their spot (but not hanging out into the road at all). The campsites are not level at all, especially front to back. Our site as well as several others required full jack extension to unhook (without any drop down/telescoping) in order to have enough height to retract back in to get level. For our site even 1 drop on the telescoping jack would have been too much. Wifi was a joke (750kbps and 200MB limit for 3 days), but we had excellent Verizon signal at our site. Plenty of good trails, waterfalls, and a nice lake. Good camp store too. Avoid the main falls trail suspension bridge during busy times, it has a 6 person limit and you end up waiting for 30 min for people to cross it slowly and stop to take selfies... We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campstore is nice. If you get really bored, drive the 40 miles to Manchester and eat at West Main Brick Oven Pizza. Didn't try the restaurant at the Inn, but it looked like decent food.

Nice park, most sites are paved, some are gravel. Big rigs might have difficulty getting into some sites due to narrow roads and tight turns. Loop A is family oriented with playgrounds. Hiking trail connector leaves from Loop C. Campground clean, facilities clean. No warm water in bathrooms during my visit in March. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Campground has several loops with many sites to pick from. Some have full hookups and some just have power and water. Some are paved and some are not. Some level, some not. Pretty much what I have seen in other Tennessee state park campgrounds, clean and well kept, but showing some age. The parks itself is beautiful! Many hiking trails and overlooks. There are at least 2 swinging bridges. They have a good golf course. The restaurant food is good, but nothing special. This was my second time to camp there this year. Will definitely be going back! We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Very highly used park. The roads to the park from the north is very narrow and windy as are the interior roads but if you come in from Hwy 111 (which is the way we went out) it is a lot easier. What ever you do do not try to enter from Pikeville because of a very steep switchback road. The sites are in very tight loops and most are not level with lots of trees and not very accommodating for large rigs like our 40' MH. The restrooms were very clean and modern. Cell service was good and we were able to get a few "over the air" tv stations. They have two dump stations. One was not accessible at all by rigs our size and the other one was only one way and there was no easy turn around. There was a NO BURN in effect while we were there and multiple forest fires in the area. The closest grocery store (except for gas station) was a good 30 miles on very windy roads. It is a lovely park but knowing how hard it is to access I don't know if we would come back. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Lovely park with several camping areas to choose from. Lots of deer, some lovely scenic views and nice hiking. The Nature center was not all that great- I have seen better, and the lady working there was not very welcoming, but I can get over that sort of thing. I enjoyed crossing the stream s on the suspension bridges. Our site was asphalt- but very unlevel and water drained to it. There are lots of sites to choose from, though- I can't remember what the number was that we were on, but it did have full hookups. The park itself is beautiful with a nice swimming area, lots of activity and gathering spaces, a marina, etc. We could only stay one night as we were traveling thru- but I would love to go back when we have more time. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground loops were very clean. The staff was very nice and friendly. There was always someone mowing, weed eating and cutting up fallen trees. There was deer everywhere so be careful when driving around. We had a couple does that wandered through our site everyday. The views from all the lookout positions are great. The only bad thing I can say is about the bath house in loop E where stayed. It was shut down in February to be remodeled. At the end of September it was still locked down and not much done to it. So we had to use the bath house in loop A. It was about a 1/4 mile walk but wasn't a deal breaker for us. They are renovating some of the other loops by adding sewer and some 50 amp services. When I go back I will stay in loop E or A again. The camp store has lots of groceries if you forgot anything. The prices are not inflated either. The gift shop was nice. The roads in the loops are narrow. And there are some lay hanging limbs. If you can come in from the south side. The road from the north steep and very curvy. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Tent Trailer.

I read about this state park in Trailer Life Magazine, where it was rated quite highly, and I now see why. It's a great state park--clean, forested, with a large lake, boat rentals, a pool, trails, waterfalls and streams (that you can swim in), horseback riding, etc., etc. We spent two days and three nights here, and had a great time. We probably could have spent another day to see the few other things that we didn't get to see. As I mention below, if you don't have a car expect to do a lot of walking or biking.

I was a bit disappointed with the site for our motorhome, though. I have a 30 foot long Class A RV, and our site was too short for it. The site was very unlevel, and because our site was so short, the front of the RV was only a couple of feet from the road edge, pitched down beyond the leveling capability of our RV. Backing up much more than we did would have put us into the site of the trailer behind us. For an RV of our size, they should have recommended a different site, especially when I told them how large our RV was upon making the reservation.

If you're coming to this park in a motorhome but you don't have a car, expect to do a lot of walking or biking. It's a big park and if you don't have a mode of transportation, it's a lot of "huffing and puffing" on foot or by bike up and down the hilly roads around the campsites. We were in loop D in a motorhome with no car and pretty much had to walk everywhere. Everything you want (trail heads, nature center, pool, general store, docks, etc.) is at least a 15 minute walk, sometimes longer, along combinations of trails and roads that other cars are using. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It's a beautiful drive entering from the north, but just be ready for some hilly, twisty, and narrow roads. Our RV is about 12 feet tall and we had no problem with vertical clearances (branches, wires).

My kids (10,6) and I tent camped here for one night and hiked the Fall Creek Falls trail the next day. We stayed in loop A near the open green space (+playground & a volleyball) which was great because there were a bunch of kids running around. The bathhouse was older but clean. Everyone adhered to quiet hours. We did not have a chance to use the pool or visit the gift shop. We will be back for a longer stay in the future. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Tent.

Great campground for families (especially young children). Beautiful setting in the Tennessee mountains. Not particularly "Big - Rig" friendly. Many (including ours) had trees guarding the campsite entrance and trees across the road making front end management a little difficult. Since we don't have small children any longer and the tightness of the campsites we probably won't be returning. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped at Fall Creek Falls for 4 nights. This was our first trip. Very shaded and well maintained. I have a Ford F350 dually long bed with a 39 foot 5th wheel. We camped in one of the loops in section B. It is manageable but you do have to be careful with trees and the tight loop with such a long rig. Great stay, very quiet and lots to do (hiking, fishing, boating, etc...). Really good general store on site with great ice cream and one of the best campground gift shops I have ever been in. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you travel I-40 to Cookville or Crossville getting to Fall Creek Falls SP, take Hwy 101 to get south rather than Hwy 127. Hwy 127 is EXTREMELY twisty with tight hairpin turns. Also pack what you need for your stay. No box stores nearby. Fall Creek Falls State Park is a terrific place to get away from the outside world. No TV. No Wi-Fi. Cell service is spotty. But there is so much to do right there. Chattanooga is an easy day trip to Ruby Falls, Inclined Railway, and/or Rock City to name a few great sites. Bring your bicycle to ride miles of paved roads. Great, friendly staff. A very special place. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

We give the campground itself a 6 while the park deserves a 9. There are 5 loops in the camping area and they vary in quality. Sites are close together in most areas with little privacy. Most of the sites are un-level and have front to back sloping. Avoid loop C where sites are very small and on top of one another. There are some nice tent sites (including park and walk in). Bathrooms are typical state facilities. The park is TN's largest and offers wonderful hiking opportunities. It has great creek swimming near the nature center as well as a pool. It is very scenic with multiple creeks and waterfalls. Park is heavily used. Reservations suggested in the summer. We camped at Fall Creek Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.
