This is a great family campground high in the mountains of Tellico Plains, Tn. Sites are fairly level with 30 amp service only. The campground offers activites for the whole family, swimming, fishing, bike riding, hiking. This is a favorite campground for the locals, so be sure to book your reservations early. Most times the campground is full on the weekends. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our favorite park on a recent 3 week trip. It is 30 minutes up in the hills from Tellico Plains. We stayed in space 29, which was electric only. There was a water spigot right across from us. The site was pretty level and well spaced from the others. There was a great 3 mile hike or bike loop around the lake that we did 1-2 times per day. We had no cell service, no OTA and no DISH. We were able to get connected when we drove down to Tellico Plains. We rented a car in Athens, TN (60 minutes away). CG is on the Cherehala Skyway - a 40 mile road that goes through the Cherokee National Forest. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Motorhome.

On the way down the Mountain to Tellico Plains, you can turn left and head to the Bald River Falls. It is ~15 minutes from the main road but well worth the trip!

Our first trip to Indian Boundary was great! We enjoyed riding bikes, swimming, and paddling in the lake. I was especially impressed by the camp store which had everything you might have forgotten! Loop B was great, most sites looked level and there are 2 bathhouses. Family friendly and safe. The dump station and potable water are not well marked from the entrance. Take a left toward the boat ramp and you'll see a small sign. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This CG is among the best we've ever stayed. Camp hosts were very helpful, the shower houses were spotless. We stayed in B loop, our site was spacious. Added bonus was the swimming beach, very scenic and clean. I want to return. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Groceries in Tellico Plains, about 15 miles away. Also a few BBQ places, taverns, and gas stations. Don't forget about Bald River Falls or Cheoah Point at the other end of the Skyway. The Cherohala Skyway is a very nice ride as well.

Nice clean cool campground..Stay here every year....Located on Cherohala Skyway..The campsites are kept neat and clean..hard packed gravel with perfect drainage..Has rained hard several years..No problems..Sites have picnic tables and nice fire rings...We took Kayaks..A short trip around the corner to a nice boat ramp and beautiful lake...Very peaceful lake with no gasoline motors allowed...We stay in June when we meet with friends every year in Tellico Plains...Indian Boundary stays much cooler than down the mountain in Tellico Plains...Firewood available and all park personnel are nice and helpful...We have going here every summer for years and will be there at least once and probably more times this year..Perfect place for families..Two miles off the Skyway so it is very quiet....I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this park.. The area around it is beautiful..13 miles to large grocery store and gas.. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I love this campground! There are plenty of great sites, which are level and spacious. The campground is rustic and beautiful. The 3-mile long hiking trail around the nearby lake is alone worth the price of admission; it's awesome for a nature hike or easy mountain bike ride. The campground store is phenomenal and about as well stocked as one could wish for. There's really only two caveats about this campground. Otherwise it would rate a 10 for me. The first is that there's no water hookup directly at the sites. However, there are water sources scattered around the campground. This is but a small inconvenience. We had water directly across from our site-#85. Pull out, fill up, back in, no problem. This little inconvenience probably keeps the campground from being overcrowded and overpriced, so try to take the bad with the good. The second issue is also a minor one: that being that many of the sites are near the campground entry road, which can be noisy when loud trucks and motorcycles are coming and going. Loop A gets you further away from the noise. There is no wi-fi at the campground and we didn't have phone service either. We didn't have our dish satellite with us, but I expect that getting a signal would have been tricky. But hey, it's camping. The reprieve from technology was a blessing. Our vehicle is a 24 foot class B. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Motorhome.

Despite this being a hilly park our pad was perfectly level. The bat houses are modern, nicely spaced-out for short walks and the walkways to and from the facilities are concrete. The bath houses were spotless and freshly scented. The view from our front door was straight into a beautiful secluded forest. The sites are far enough apart to fit a site or two in between each one of them. I did not do my homework very well and had set up camp when I realized the sites do not have water hook-ups. But we got lucky. There are threaded water hydrants located throughout the park. We had one within reach of our 50 white hose, so did not have to hitch back up and go for water. If not for the lack of water at the pads, this park would be a 9 or 10. Kudos to USFS. NPS could learn from them. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The swimming beach is excellent. If you don't like the sound of kids swimming, get a pad farther from the lake. The 3.5 mile hike around the lake is also excellent, especially for lovers of wildflowers and other plant life. We took a side trip on the nearby Cherahola Skyway up to the divide and hiked to the "balds" for stunning views of the Smokies.

sites large but campgrounds roads fairly narrow. Very clean, stayed during the week so the campground not crowded. Dump station had no running water so bring your own for clean up. Sites have power but no water but water spitots periodically along the campground roads. Sites all back in. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is located approx. 13 miles east of Tellico Plains, Tn off the Cherohola Skyway. Sites are large and generally level. Water not located at every site with faucets located through out the grounds. Every site has electric, 30/50 amp. Most sites are shaded. TV reception is poor, no cable or WiFi. Fire rings at each site. There is a large lake nearby for tubing and swimming. Bathrooms were clean with plenty of hot water for showers. Campgrounds were very quiet and peaceful. Stayed here in a popup motorcycle camper...and would definitely return. Price was with Golden Age Pass. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Located in the center of motorcycle riding country, very scenic, great roads abound. There is a Camp Store nearby with wonderful staff and a wide variety of goods, including ice. We stayed here on several occasions and definitely plan to do so again.

Stayed for a weekend for the first time and enjoyed the park. Roads could be a little narrow for a longer RV, but it can be done. Each loop has several water bibs and if you have enough hose you can fill your fresh water tank there. There is also a new loop for the dump station that appears to me much easier to use than the one it replaced. We will be back here, nice to be outside and have plenty of shade. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like to camp in a beautiful national forest campground on the eastern half of the US, this campground is for you! The sites are large, mostly level, and fairly well separated. Loop C & D campground hosts have been here for over 20 years. There is great motorcycling in the area since the Cherohala Skyway is 2 miles from the campground. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Motorhome.

Indian Boundary is located within Cherokee National Forest in a beautiful wooded setting. One of the loops is within sight of a large lake perfect for kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. The bath houses are well-maintained and clean. The camp store is very well-stocked with food and supplies of all kinds. The sites are level, roomy and most are well-shaded. The sites do not have water hook-ups but there are numerous spigots along the road within a short distance from each site. This is one of my favorite campgrounds. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

A great place to enjoy the great outdoors. The park is 14 miles from the nearest town and is in the middle of nowhere. No city lights, no drone of a nearby interstate, no airplanes constantly flying overhead. The sites were very large (don't believe their limit of 26' campers, we saw plenty of 5th wheels that fit in the sites just fine.) The sites were also well separated. Most of the sites were well shaded with mature trees. There is a beautiful lake that has a spectacular mountain backdrop. The park is in the Cherokee National Forest which is also beautiful. Most sites were not within reach of a water spigot so plan accordingly. The bathrooms were clean but as most federal parks there was no soap at the sinks. Why can't they ever put hand soap out? Surprisingly, we received 8 TV channels with our digital tuner. No cell phone signal, and there is no public phone at the park either. In the event of an emergency, the campground host has a radio they use to contact the Ranger's station. There is also a camp store with a business phone. The camp store was very well stocked with a very nice variety of products considering the remote location of the park. I would really like to go back to this campground; it's a very relaxing and picturesque place to spend some time. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A beautiful place to camp. We have camped here multiple times and love it. However, there are a few issues that one should be aware of: it is very remote. The bathhouses are clean but the showers are "push button" and that can be annoying. We camped at Indian Boundary Campground in a Tent Trailer.
