Nice clean campground. Sites are level, we stayed in 11; no need for leveling. Site was long enough for our 26 foot camper and our truck. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed a week in a back in spot #8. It was paved and deep enough for our 32" MH and tow vehicle. We used it as a base camp to visit friends and see sights. We went to Discovery Park, a must see if you are in the area! It is quiet during the week and full on the weekends. We would stay again, when we are in the area. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is just beautiful. Our site was flooded from all the spring rain, but they gave us another one. You must read the history of how the lake was created! The park has such majestic views of the lake and the sunsets are awesome. There is much to do for the avid outdoors people. State Wildlife park, fishing, and hiking...to mention a few. The sites are staggered sites so you don't feel like you are on top of each other. The park was quiet and well kept. Park host has been here for 19 years and was very pleasant. Make sure you have reservations, this park fills fast. The bathhouse is clean with one washer and dryer. There are 30 & 50 amp hookups with water. No full hookups. Bottom line, a must stay. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It could have been a disaster but great staff rescued the situation. The campground was half flooded when we arrived. The level of the lake was very high and there was a fierce wind that had shoved even more water in with high waves splashing a foot up the barriers on the lakeside. There was a sign on the entrance saying that the area was closed. We went to the interpretive centre and the nice lady there made a telephone call and alerted staff at the campground to our arrival. We went back and the lady on duty there offered us the choice of the two available campsites not under water and still hooked up. We stayed two nights as planned and had a lovely time. We saw many many birds. The historical information was fascinating. We went back to the interpretive centre for the full look the next day and it was great. I especially liked the live snake display where I could actually see all the venomous and nonvenomous snakes in the area. They also have some big outdoor pens where eagles, hawks and owls are rehabilitated. We took the 0.25 walk on the boardwalk through the lake edge and enjoyed. This is a fascinating place that we really enjoyed visiting. We would come again. The nearby BlueBank Inn has guest Wifi we could access from the campground. Bonus! We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a store right across from the interpretive centre that does propane refills for a reasonable charge. The nearby town of Tipptonville has lots of services. We went into town to pick up a piece of lumber for a quick repair and got good and cheerful service with no charge for two cuts.

Beautiful state park right on the shore of Reelfoot lake. Level, spacious pads with tons of shade. The visitor center has a raptor center with easy to view owls, hawks. As a bonus, Reelfoot Natl Wildlife Refuge is nearby, which as top notch visitor center, but in early October, the migratory birds were not there yet. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend and it was very crowded. The sites are tight & lots of trees making it a tight squeeze to get in/out of campsite. Close to highway but not too noisy. No real hiking trails from campground. There are 3 bath houses but only 2 have showers & when it rains you have to wear mud boots to get to them. They're not very clean with no ac so you feel just as sweaty after you shower as you did going in. But do have foamy soap & strong water pressure. The sites are paved/gravel & fairly level but if you're a tent camper you are liable to be soaked from the ground up after a rain. We were swarmed w/ mosqitos, saw snakes, ducks, & crawfish all in our camping area. Each site has fire ring/grill, electric & water but no real wifi or antenna service. Couple good diners nearby if you want a break from camp. Museum is nice and worth an hour to visit. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The campground was flooded due to recent rains and high lake level. Our original spot (#70) was under water. The camp host gave us an alternative site which turned out to be nice but only because the sites across from it were flooded and therefore empty. If the campground had not been flooded and had been full for the weekend, this site would have been very crowded. The electric and water are on opposite sides, so you can decide to back-in or pull-in depending upon which orientation you want. If I had pulled in the site, the picnic table and grill would have been on the 'proper' side of the MH, but the electric pedestal was also on that side. I decided to back-in, which some would consider 'backwards' but by doing so I had a nice view out of the passenger side of the MH. This park seems to be in the process of doing some upgrades on the old patio pads and picnic tables, which is sorely needed. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Motorhome.

Exceptionally beautiful state park. Shade is plentiful. Site level,

Maybe a little narrow. Very well maintained. There are at least 2 sites that are full hook up-#2 & #3. Many sites right on the only natural lake in Tennessee with a fascinating history. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 9/10-9/11. The lady in the check in office was very friendly and helpful. The park ranger drove through a couple times and waved. The campground was less than 25% occupancy. It was very quite even with a half dozen pre/early teens a couple spots down. There are several signs that say" alcoholic beverages strictly prohibited". Being right on the lake mosquitos can be a problem. I never had a problem with them but the guy across the street and the camper in the next slot fought them like crazy. The bathrooms and showers were clean but there some dead bugs/mosquitos on the sink area. The bathrooms/shower area was a little dated but the water was HOT, shower head worked with good pressure. No complaints here about them. The grass was mowed everything looked weed-eated, not round-upped. I did not see any trash on the ground anywhere. The dumpster areas were even clean of trash laying around. The water pressure at the sites were very good. I looked at 7-8 other spots and the electrical boxes I checked all had 50,30 and 20 amp hook ups. Pretty shady campground cypress trees everywhere. Lots of the sites are short so pay carefull attention when booking them on thier site. Number 9 is short but nice view of the lake. I live 25 miles away from this place but I will definitely go back. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Several good restaurants close by from right next door to 5 miles away. Some of them have gift shops. There is a flea market about 4 miles down the road every weekend. And you can rent boats near by if you want to fish on the lake. There is a museum down the road that's pretty good and they have injured Eagles, Hawks and owls that you can look at pretty close up.

If every state park were like this I would be a happy girl. Beautiful paved, flat, wide sites with picnic table, grill and fire pit. On the Mississippi River. Exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers and even a small laundry. Well done, Tennessee! We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Motorhome.

I spent one night here. Well groomed and shady. Very popular place as it appeared to be about half full on a Tuesday. Various items show their age but still functional (tables, rest rooms/showers). I did notice one of the restrooms had a washer and dryer. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little buggy especially at dusk. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Reelfoot Lake State Park was an overnight stop for us, but what a nice campground and beautiful Lake. Our Verizon MiFi worked well, TV reception with an antenna would bring in a couple of channels. Water, electric, at your site with a dump station as you exit or enter the park. The camp host was friendly, and helpful! The park camping sites were level, and previously we had read other reviews that said 35' was the largest they could accommodate, however that is not the case. There were much larger rigs than our 35' motorhome parked easily. I am sure it is a great place for fisherman being so close to the Lake. It was quiet and a nice place to visit.  We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Motorhome.

Good Park. Paved roads and fairly level sites. Park shows signs of lack of State funding though and needs some TLC to facilities although office staff were very friendly and helpful. Only about 65 miles from home and will definitely go back. Maximum RV length of 35 feet. We camped at Reelfoot Lake State Park, South Campground in a Travel Trailer.
