Camped for 3 nights last weekend and LOVED IT! Facilities were wonderful and clean. Patios and fire pits were awesome. So much to do on site and location is perfect for all area attractions. Great playground for kids and fenced area for dogs. River access is great. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Bath houses are beautiful. Going to be hard to beat this place! Booked again for next month! Worth every penny! We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

New owners have made this place amazing. We camped here years ago and always said it was the best location for a campground, but the facilities were not very nice, and the staff was not friendly. When we heard that the campground had been sold and completley redone, we had to go stay again. I have to say, it is probably the best campground in the smokies. Bathrooms are amazing, grounds are perfect, staff is wonderful, and amenities are fantastic. We will be back! If you are visiting the smokies, this is the place to stay. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean and up to date facility. Improvements are amazing. Staff is remarkably friendly. Certainly one of the best private campgrounds. Pool was clean, sitting areas are pristine. Camp office looks great! We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

The Good: Staff is super friendly, lots of things going on for the kids, nice grounds, clean facilities, a lot of new or remodeled items on the grounds, and easy to get to. You feel like you are in the mountains. The Bad: The pool 'deck' is VERY Slippery. I saw two kids and one adult fall just walking normal. When it is wet, I bet I could slide 15 ft + in my shoes with a good start. The paint/surface is very slick when it gets wet. Maybe a paint with sand mixed in or something else on the surface would fix this. Someone is going to get hurt (busted head, etc) on this surface. None/spotty cell service, our spot had little to no WIFI (B10), and the spot we were in was advertised as a 40' spot (it is 33' upon measuring from back of pad to where the grass starts - 35' total from back of pad to shade tree) and we had to hang several feet behind the pad to really fit with the slide (and my truck still blocked just about the entire road when unhooking and hooking back up). There are also two random giant rocks across from that site that make it pretty hard to back up a 33' camper with a Ram 2500. Maybe a smaller camper and tow rig would be easier. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

If you stay a week, the 8th night is free. Quoted price was for full hookup site NOT on the river. Most of the river sites have a covered picnic table overlooking the Little River. The new owners have put a LOT of money and work into improving this campground. WiFi was very fast, although the campground was sparsely populated when we stayed, before Memorial Day weekend. We have stayed at this campground for many years. We are thrilled to see the upgrades the new owners and managers are making. They are sparing no expense in upgrading this to a top notch resort. The sites are much nicer than they have ever been. Lots of amenities are being added and the entire resort is being upgraded. The owners and managers are some of the nicest, most helpful people you will ever meet. Can't wait to return. Campground was very nice. Codes for bathroom to keep non-campers from using restrooms. Roads were easy to navigate for big rigs. Called on short notice and was offered premium 50 amp sites. I should have asked but was not offered other options. Campground is scheduled for auction on October 20th. There is a campstore onsight as well as a pool in the summer. Sites on river have covered picnic tables. Includes cable. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby Townsend offers grocery, hardware, and a number of places to eat. Most places close during off season. Railroad Museum is an interesting place to see and learn about the area.

Overall Rating:

We have stayed in this campground for almost 10 years. It used to be a fine campground. It has gone down progressively since then. Our visit started with having to run parked vehicles out of our site. The campground staff did not properly police other campers parking habits. The 30 amp outlet was too old and would not hold the cord unless it was "jimmied" into place. The campground advertises internet service but it was too limited for the number of campers. The shower houses were not being cleaned regularly and the womens was flooding from the floor drain being clogged. The shower heads and controls were very old and did not work properly. Some of the campers were rude and were yelling and creating a lot of noise during quite hours. This situation was not addressed by staff.

The campground does have very nice sized sites. The sites seem to be pretty well maintained. There is a camp store that is usually well stocked although it was not stocked well for our October trip. They do offer ice and firewood as well.

As I said, we have camped here for about 10 years. The staff used to be really good at keeping a handle on the campers and their habits. It was always clean. Continued maintenance of the shower house has been a problem for some time. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Townsend is a great little town. Because of our experience this time we will look at the NP campgrounds or KOA. There are a couple of restaurants in town that are pretty good. The Black Bear and the Trout and Steak House. The NP visitors center was nice.

Overpriced for the amenities offered. The pool was closed and their reason for closing it was "ran out of chemicals" (chemicals are easily purchased anywhere). It was still hot (90+ degree heat) and it would have been nice to take a dip in the pool. Our site was beside the river, but the highway noise across from the river was unbearable. The sites were too close with zero privacy. We could not enjoy the fire ring without feeling we were in the neighbor's campsite. Although the employees were pleasant, we will not be visiting this campground again. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

We tried Trailhead Steak & Trout in Townsend for supper. It was delicious but a little pricey though. The convenience of this campground to Cades Cove end of the Smokies was great.

This is a decent park. Hookups work well, but 50 amp sites are minimal and are mostly by the road. Cell service is extremely poor, and you have to use the park's Internet. Over all, we felt it was overpriced at $60 a night. There are a couple of things you may want to be aware of before considering this park. First, our GPS advised us we were over weight when we crossed their bridge, and we only have a 32' class A with toad. Second, management has a no refund policy period. My mother passed away in Colorado, which necessitated our leaving a day early. The manager, apparently the only person who can waive the no refund policy, refused to talk to us. Finally, do not expect guests to visit while you are at the park unless you want to pay $3 per person for the "privilege" of entering the park. We will never return to this park, although we will return to Townsend. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Motorhome.

Our site was next to the river and was large enough for our 43'motorhome. It was a little noisy when the motorcycles travel by on the main road. The lady who made our reservation and checked us in was very nice, but there was one male employee who gave himself the title "parking pass nazi." One afternoon we had friends drop us off near our site. They stayed long enough for us to get out of their car and say goodbye. The male employee immediately pulled up on his golf cart and took this opportunity to interfere with our goodbyes to flaunt the micro power his employer gave him to tell our friends they had to move their car because someone needed to park their RV in the space next to us. He was certainly right. Someone did come in - two days later. I know every RV park needs rules, but the operators should make every effort to insure their guests feel welcomed and not treated like they are either not wanted or a problem. I think it has been eight years since we last stayed at this park. This definitely left a poor impression for a return visit. The only other negative was the poor cellular coverage (Verizon) which was not the fault of the park. I would give them one more chance. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Motorhome.

Came here to visit Great Smoky National Park. We were very happy with our stay and the accommodations. We did a lot of research before booking our visit and decided to stay in Townsend instead of Gatlinburg. We were not disappointed. We stayed in loop A and the sites were shaded and peaceful. Tremont is minutes from Cades Cove and 30min from Gatlinburg. The campground was quiet and family friendly and free wifi was strong. If we ever make it back to this part of the world we will stay at Tremont again. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this CG and it's nice river sites. Especially during the offseason when their rates are very affordable. I've seen negative reviews in the past about the staff, but don't understand them - I've stayed at this CG on and off for 15 years and the only hassle was poor cable service (which is now fixed, and had nothing to do with the staff). Seems pricey during summer season, but it is nice, and very convenient to The GSMNP. We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Motorhome.
