Extremely friendly staff from reservations forward. Very clean and there is obvious pride in their campground. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

This is a quiet park, at least this time of the year. The staff have been friendly and helpful. There are a number of seasonal sites but they are well kept. The campground is well laid out. There is not a lot of shade. This park is on the quiet side of the Smokies and is about 15 minutes to a park entrance. There are adequate restaurants and groceries within a reasonable distance. Met all of my needs. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Great Smoky National Park is the highlight of the area. You are fairly close to the Cases Cove area of the park. For a rainy day, the Tuckaleeche Caverns are worth a visit. There is a beautiful walking path along the river that is perfect for walking your dog or to relax and listen to the river.

Level grass sites with level well maintained gravel pads and roads. Good WiFi and cable, clean laundry. Park boarders the Little River across a large grass field. Some sites have shade. They have a very noisy rooster!! The new owners are pleasant and helpful. Stayed a month-would stay again. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

This is our second stay at this campground and we absolutely love it. The staff is super nice and everything is well maintained. We have made lots of new friends here. There was a rooster that kept us awake the first night. But the next day we ate it, and that evening we slept much better. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Tent Trailer.

We've camped here on and off for the last six years. Currently we have been here for six weeks and love it!

The views of the mountains are unparalleled and everyone is friendly and easy to get along with, which includes all the staff.

Yes, there is a rooster here. I've named him Rocky. He walks around the campground and brings great character to this place. In six weeks I've never heard him crow at 3 am. Mornings and early evenings yes, but not the middle of the night. That's when he sleeps.

This ain't Disney World. If you want an antiseptic visit with nothing to disturb you, this place isn't for you. It's not a concrete jungle. It's the country! If you want to get away and enjoy the quiet of the countryside with the birds, etc., then you'll love it here.

I'd much rather hear the rooster, the geese and other birds than the sirens we used to hear in town. Residents and visitors here are great about observing quiet hours and respecting each other's space.

The sites are good sized, the bathroom and laundry room are cleaner than any I've seen. The entire campsite is well maintained and the owners and camp hosts are always available in case of a question or a problem. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Whispering River is close to Townsend and Maryville with all their amenities. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is about 30 minutes away. Knoxville is about 45 minutes away, so there is something here for everyone.

The sites are well maintained. Each one has a picnic table and a fire pit. The management was friendly and helpful. Campground is close to highway but you cannot see it and rarely hear it. The view of the mountains was lovely, and they have walking trails along the river. The bath house was kept clean, the showers were nice and hot, and best of all -private shower/bathrooms! The pads and driveways are gravel. We were in a 21' travel trailer and the pad was long enough for our trailer and truck to fit comfortably. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

If you like bbq, Dead End BBQ in nearby Maryville is great. Lots of antique stores nearby. Great fishing in the river. 10 miles from Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Don't plan on getting any sleep at this campground. Evidently there is a rooster that lives there and it starts crowing at about 4:30AM and goes incessantly for three to four hours strait. Lot spacing was nearby with a sunny/open exposure. Site surface is gravel featuring a fire ring and picnic table. Tips for other Campers:

The GPS can't find this campground and takes you past it on the highway. You have to make a u-turn and find the vary narrow road that takes you to the campground. It's not easy to find.

I regret that you did not enjoy all that the resort has to offer. We are in a country environment which brings in from time to time all types of animals. The rooster does not belong to the campground and "comes and goes". I think we all need to understand that most of these animals were here long before us. Most people love the variety.

This park is way overpriced for this time of year. $45.00 a night is at the weekly price. They had closed the pool and there was no hot tub for the rv park, yet each cabin had a functioning hot tub. Sites are large and long, but friends had trouble getting out of their "extra long" site due to a large rock and a camper parked partly in the road. Beautiful "smoke" some mornings on the mountains. Be prepared for the cold wind that keeps the campground COLD from sunset to @10:30 am at this time of year. Rate includes 14% tax and was for 50 amp with full hookups. Driveways are gravel and the pads are gravel. When traveling south on Highway 321, make a U-turn at the BP station and follow the small sign to Misty River. There were no Whispering River signs. They are located two miles down Safari road. Driveways and the pads were gravel. Hookups are all at the rear of the pads. Our pad was long enough to accommodate a 37 foot motorhome with a small Honda attached. Water pressure was 40 psi. There were 106 channels of cable TV, but it required a small box available from the office. We found the free WiFi service up by the office to be mostly 'internet unavailable' with infrequent short periods of good response time. We tried an iPhone, an iPad and a Windows PC. Better luck was had walking down and using the 'Bath House WiFi" which was on a different router network. No password required. There was a picnic table and a fire ring. Sewer connections were screw in. ATT phone service was 4 out of 5 bars; Verizon was 2 out of 5 bars. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Motorhome.

I was told how great this park was and boy am I disappointed. The bath house was dirty, the playground is a swing set that need to be sanded so the kids don't get splinters and the plastic slide has a tear in it. The office is open sometimes and sometimes it's not. The older lady in the office needs to learn what southern hospitably is, she must have been having a bad week and it showed!

I'm very frustrated with this campground and not coming back. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Now named Whispering River RV Resort. New owners are providing the same friendly service as the previous owners. Beautiful setting in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains on the Little River. A great place to relax and get away from it all. Good cable TV, WiFI and pool. Bathrooms are private and spotless. Whispering River also has rental cabins and a spacious events center. We love Whispering River and will return often. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. Beautiful setting on the banks of the Little River and surrounded by mountains. Near Townsend, the quiet side of the Smokeys. Not far from the hustle bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Not a long driving distance to Knoxville, about 28 miles.

Rate shown is based on a monthly rate. This is our fourth stay in this park. We find it very convenient and picturesque when in the area. The park is on the quiet side of the Smokies (away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg) so you do not have all the traffic but still easy access to the National Park as well as a short drive into Knoxville. Sites and roads are dirt/gravel with grass and tress in between sites. Sites are sized nicely and they do have one row that has extra long pull thrus. Facilities are very nice and are well maintained. Wi-Fi is free but service can be spotty and slow. They have cable but we do not use it as we have satellite. I highly recommend the park if you want a peaceful Smoky mountain experience. We camped at Whispering River Resort (formerly Misty River Cabins & RV Resort) in a Fifth Wheel.

Just an average campground. All roads and sites are gravel (with lots of potholes) Sites were rather close together and not much shade. Electric was barely OK (109) volts and water pressure only at 40psi. On the plus side, the scenery was beautiful with mountains close by and a river only 100 yards away. Wi-Fi was slow but it did work. We got there late (8PM) and office was closed but staff was friendly the next morning and helpful.
