We have enjoyed the campsite one week end a month last year and this year. We are retired and would really enjoy camping at Devil's Step if it were open some of the winter months. My only complaint is the gravel on the pads. You can't keep it out of the campers it so small it makes a mess and cuts vinyl floor covering. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the state parks that has gone thru a remodel. For once the state got it right on this one. Pads are wide and level. 50amp power. But the things I didn't like were folks riding around on golf carts, a van with its generator running and dogs not on a leash. I saw a park ranger ride thru several times but she didn't address any of these issues. The campground host wasn't helpful either. Also there are full timers in this park. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Motorhome.

This was the first time we have been to this park and we really enjoyed it. The sites are spacious and some have full hook up while all have W/E. Newly renovated, this was the only camp ground that could accommodate the big rig that our friends were in. They enjoyed it there too.

The rest rooms and showers were clean and well looked after. The park in general was clean with not much litter on the ground and sites that were vacated were policed and cleaned fairly quickly.

We will surely be back. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We were in the area to visit the Jack Daniel's Distillery. If you want to experience the tasting do the Angel's Cut tour. Interesting variations in the product they produce. Very educational if you want to learn a bit about Tennessee whiskey

This is sort of confusing. I think this refers to the Fairview Campground that is part of Tims Ford State Park. This campground is newly renovated. The Fairview Campground is located on the south side of Tims Ford Lake about 6 miles from the Tims Ford State Park visitor center and main campground. The campground has paved driveways with gravel site pads. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. The sites are large and nicely spaced with a mix of shaded versus open sites with some backing up to the lakeshore. All sites have water and electric (I think all are 50/30 amp) and there are a few with sewer as well and there is a dump station. There is a new bathroom and shower facility. We spent 3 nights here during the week in April and it was nearly empty, very quiet. AT&T signal strength -106 dBm, a little weak. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here several times. The camp hosts and custodian are very friendly and helpful, the lake access is great. Everything else needs updating really bad. The lay out of each site is poor i.e. concrete pick-nick tables are on the wrong side of the site or in the way of where you rig should go leaving campers to "creatively park" their rigs some times encroaching on the site next to them. This could be a great camp ground, it just badly needs updating. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Motorhome.

Camp hosts were very friendly folks, center section of park is where the FHU sites are. Most would accommodate a 40' rig. 30 amp electricity was sub par, when park was 1/2 full our power was not enough to power the A/C on site 70 but I think other sites were fine. Park was clean and even had a security gate. Beautiful lake front sites without FHU available. Unfortunately this park is in need of repairs but due to budget cuts it's not in the cards at this time. We would return as it was the only viable option in the area. We camped at Fairview Devil's Step Campground (Tims Ford State Park) in a Motorhome.
