1 Park near Aledo, Texas
May 2016 - $42.00
Campground is kept clean. The main roads are gravel/sand with large pot holes. Some sites have concrete pads -ours didn't, so when it rained it you track sand into your rv. Internet was acceptable but slow. Everyone must exit on the main paved road in the park, however you must make a tight turn and can't avoid two trees which need serious trimming. - Rd yacht

We spent four nights in a 44-footer with slideouts. We've stayed at Cowtown before, and have been satisfied with the park because the location is very convenient to Fort Worth, but this was an extremely disappointing stay--mainly because it was the first time we were in one of the unpaved sites in the back when it rained. The park slopes a bit towards the pack, it rained heavily, the drainage is very poor, there isn't enough gravel in the unpaved areas and the entire back of the park was a wet, muddy mess! The park definitely needs maintenance. There are concrete sites in the front of the park that can accommodate any size RV. Insist on one of them and avoid the unpaved sites if there is any chance of rain! - Carolynp

We stayed at Cowtown because there was no other place that could accommodate us for the length of time we wanted to be in the area. I found the staff to be curt and unhelpful. My wife got scolded for using change to buy ice on one occasion. The cable stopped working (wasn't good to start with: fuzzy, bad sound). When I told the manager he came down checked it with some kind of gadget and said "I guess it's not working". Really? It never got repaired, several of our neighbors lost it at the same time and never got it back either. When I asked at the office I was told they didn't know what was wrong with it and they would get to it eventually.
The sites are very tight and the cement pad, like most of the pads in the park, was broken up and very unlevel.
During our 2 week stay I don't think the restrooms/showers were thoroughly cleaned a single time. Their idea of cleaning is flushing the toilet and adding more toilet paper.
The road noise from I-20 is excessive even in the middle of the night.
The interior roads are atrocious. There are ruts and washes that make it really tough to navigate with or without a trailer in tow. The wooden picnic table was very warped with peeling paint. The one time I tried to use it the ants came out in force within minutes.
The park is filled with mostly full-time residents, many of whose sites are quite unkempt.
The best thing I can say about this place is it works in a pinch when all other options are unavailable. - JWFlyFisher
