The park is right off of the I-20 service road, Easy access. The entry road is concrete, the inner roads are gravel. Sites are a mix of Gravel and Concrete. Utilities are well laid out. The staff has been very pleasant to deal with. This is not a RESORT, it is a campground. Sites are long enough for us to pull through and then unhook. They are not overly wide, but are wide enough. We can't hear the highway, but it is 95 deg and the AC is ON! We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is more to do in DFW area than we can get to on our short visit. The Stockyards, the Water Garden downtown. Museums! Shopping if you are interested.

I get aggravated when a campground does not describe itself accurately. I guess I should have read more than just the first couple of reviews. The picture on the website shows a wide, paved road campground which is really not accurate at all. There is one paved road and the rest are gravel. Chances are you will get the dusty gravel. Had I known only the main road was paved we would have probably looked else where. The spots are adequate for big rigs, but little room left on either side. Expect to get it dusty within the first few hours. The people are pleasant, the utilities appear to all be in working order. It would be okay for an overnight. We would likely look for something else if in the area again. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good overnight stay and convenient to interstate. The rate includes taxes and GS discount. Hook ups were good and no problem with our site. There was ample space between sites. We would stay again when in the area. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mostly a "passing through" kind of place. That, and a lot of residents. It's easy access from I-10 just west of the DFW craziness. The staff was very pleasant, with an occasional exception- maybe just the time of day. (we've stayed most than once) Sites are tight, but manageable, and clean. Being close to the interstate is always both a plus and a minus. We were far enough back that the road noise wasn't a bother. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you're heading east, it's a good stop before diving into the DFW traffic. If west, good to be out of the traffic and not have to deal with it in the morning.

Wanted something close to the DFW area, turned out to be quite far from either city. Large RV park with plenty of spaces nearly all pullthroughs which is unusual, it was the start of "Spring Break" so park was full but staff were very friendly and helpful and we got a site. Sites were level although the ground was sand and very dusty as vehicles traversed. Grass around the concrete pads was clean but the pads are in need of repair as they are crumbling in spots. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ft Worth and Dallas not too near, but we were still able to get to either city and back with enough time to see and do what we wanted to - DFW traffic is another matter all together!

Cowtown RV Park has a mix of paved & gravel roads & sites. The sites toward the front of the park are paved and nicer than those in the back. Sites are level and fairly tight (but not too bad). The park has 3 enclosed dog areas with grass, which my dogs enjoyed. WiFi was so slow as to be useless, and we couldn't get the cable to work. However, we would stay here again when visiting family in the area. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park has a mix of concrete/paved sites & roads and gravel sites on very dusty roads. Granted, I was in desperate need of a site in the middle of Thanksgiving weekend with little notice, but we were stunned at having to drive our just-washed RV and towed truck through a huge, swirling cloud of what looked like concrete dust. Very narrow sites, not very well-maintained park. Office staff was courteous, but the guy who "led" us to our site made no effort to make sure we could extend our slides without hitting any obstructions (good-sized tree). We had to pull through and go all the way around the park for another shot at getting into the site with enough room to set up, since we hadn't disconnected the toad. Another wonderful ride through the dust storm! We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

There are few good choices around DFW, this one is convenient to the FW side of DFW area and seemed a good choice. The $26 reflects a weekly rate. However, if you are interested in longer than 2 weeks, you must subject EVERY person over 16 in the unit to a background check at $25/each. I have several recent clearances in my pocket--no good. I was there for 5 days before the restroom was cleaned--not bad condition, just not disinfected daily as most are. Ample garbage bins and they are checked at least twice daily. About half the sites are concrete slabs, rest are graveled/dirt. The entire area is sloped to the rear, so if you are back there, a lot of water runoff heads that way when it rains. Lots of fire ant beds, have to be careful of them. Somewhat awkward to go west out of the CG as it is on a one-way frontage road. I-20 noise was noticeable, but ok when inside. My space did have room for my truck and wife's car. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Brookshires/Whataburger/McDs at the west exit 418 on I-20, but you have to go east and circle back to get there. Railhead BBQ also near, and it is great eating. Brookshires has gas/diesel at decent pricing.

After visiting every RV park between Weatherford and Azle, and staying in 4, we can say without hesitation this is the best -- amenities, rate and cleanliness all considered. Access roads very easy to navigate, extra-long level gravel pull-thru sites with picnic tables, nice clubhouse, a lot of grass and trees, 3 grassy dog parks, a swimming pool (already open for the summer, although not heated), friendly and helpful management, and no run-down semi-permanent travel trailers. Wifi is strong (rare in our travels), 2 dozen cable channels, very convenient to shopping and activities, surprisingly quiet for so close to the freeway. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Large park with good paved interior roads; level, concrete sites with grass in between. 3 fenced dog runs with grass; pool & playground area for kids. Not much appears to have been updated at Cowtown since our last visit
three years ago. The place is still clean and maintained. There are still a fair number of full-timer families. Our site was a long and reasonably level concrete pad (cracked a bit) with a grass patio. Site width is about 25 - 30'. We had enough room to park the truck after disconnecting. Water pressure was good at 50psi, 50a power was stable and wifi was decent although pokey at times. They recommend using their wifi for email and web surfing only - no streaming. Our 4g hotspot signal was 5-bar strong. They have cable TV available at no charge and OTA 80+ channels brought in just about everything except ABC channel 8. Overall, this is a convenient park that we like to use whenever visiting relatives in Ft. Worth. We will come back again. We camped at Cowtown RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
