Our go-to park when visiting Amarillo. Check in is always easy, staff is always friendly, and there is escort to site. Nice, level pull-through. All utilities worked well. This park has been bought by The Big Texan and they are in the process of changing the name. Always enjoy the free limo ride to dinner at The Big Texan. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dinner at The Big Texan - use the free limo service. A trip to Palo Duro Canyon is a must do, as well as driving west on I-40 to see the Cadillac Ranch. Fun and quirky!

We have stayed here many times and have learned that during any holiday season you MUST have reservations as they most assuredly sell out. They are 100% pull through with (mostly) easy egress. One thing most reviewers don't mention is that they have free coffee and donuts in the office from 8:00 to 9:30 every day. As we pass through Amarillo multiple times a year, this is our preferred resting spot. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This RV park was bought by the people who own "The Big Texan Steakhouse" about three years ago. I would call this park a work in progress (progress for the better). As of August 2018: the pros - a good price, clean park, friendly staff, good enough wifi, cable TV (if you don't mind using their boxes), a newly remodeled swimming pool, a free (on the hour) shuttle to the Big Texan Steakhouse. The cons: a bit run down looking, we had to go over a curb to pull into our site, the park is not in an ideal location (highway noise and area a tad run down-but I felt safe here). I would come here again, and I believe that the owners are making improvements every year. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here numerous times in past...if you put the address in your GPS. The route will take you the back streets to the park as the address on Sunset is south of I-40 Reception staff is fabulous with large office facility. Park is spotless..Short term or over night is in the front of the park near the office on a huge gravel parking lot with some trees. Driven to your site.. no cable hookup without use of their converter box. Strong WiFi signal... We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Since we did not disconnect the Jeep, we had the free limo park driver pick us up to go to the Starlight Ranch Big Texan Steak House for dinner....I have a Winguard Razor roof top antenna with booster that picked up over 80 TV channels... Many long term Rv sparked at rear of park...

Park staff are friendly and helpful and the site we stayed on was an easy pull through with shade and picnic table. Easy set up with level gravel and lots of space around our RV. There is an off leash grassed dog area though very small. Good park for easy access to Amarillo and the Big Tex steak house. They have a free pick up and drop off arrangement with Big Tex which we didn't use. Palo duro Canyon is a 30 minute drive from RV park and definitely worth seeing. We went out there early before the heat set in and had a wonderful time driving through the canyon and exploring some of the features like the amphitheatre. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an old mobile home park converted to only RVs and lots of permanents. They seem to pack all the short-termers in one area pulled in from both directions. It is VERY noisy ALL the time from the Interstate. The folks are very friendly and helpful. Don't expect much of a WIFI. TV is off the antenna. They really pushed the free shuttle to and from the famous Amarillo Big Texan 72 oz steak house East of the campground. We did go and that was noisy too. The food was good and priced moderately. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

They city was under heavy construction of highways everywhere we went and getting from one side of the Interstate was terrible. Very windy city so leave your awning up. Not a very scenic city or campground. Next time I'll probably just drive through.

The people in the office were very friendly. We had a pull through site just off Interstate 40. The traffic noise did not interfere with our sleep during the night. They had a nice indoor pool that was refreshing after a long day on the road. The bathrooms were clean. The roads and sites were gravel and easy to maneuver our 28' motor home with a tow. There was a small dog park to exercise your pet, a playground, and a large grassy area. The site had trees and bushes to provide privacy but did not interfere with our rig. They also had cable TV. They have a car/limo that will take you to a steak house for dinner if you choose. I would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is located off I-40, and is good for an over night stop. Easy in and out for big rigs. Sites are gravel, spacious, close to level and open to the sky for satellite. Most have picnic tables. We have a 40ft MH with tow, and don't have to unhook. There are now 3 dog areas, all fenced in, and have dog waste bags with a trash can. There is also an indoor pool, store and social area. The Big Texan restaurant is located down the street, and they have free shuttles to restaurant. They also opened Starlight Ranch event center located across from the entrance. Always good for an overnight stay. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy in and out. Plenty of room for our 40 ft RV and toad. They must have upgraded the wifi because it is way better than it used to be. Great for overnight stays passing through. Free donuts and coffee for breakfast. Our site had a tree beside us and birds were roosting in it and left poop all over our coach. Next time we will ask for a site without a tree. Thanks Tandgtucker! Glad your site was easy and had plenty of room. We did upgrade our wifi early last year, so thanks for noticing! Very sorry about the bird poop. Those trees can be a double-edged sword with the shade benefit but also the bird issue at times. I do apologize though. Hope to see you again next time you're passing through. Amarillo Ranch RV Park, manager at Amarillo Ranch RV Park responded to this review

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Ramblin-Roll! While it's true we are right off Interstate 40, most of our guests actually do not notice the traffic sounds. The large field between our park and the access road along I-40 generally provides us with a nice buffer, but I apologize that it was noisy while you were here.

The heated pool, hot tub and sauna do close at 6pm during our winter and early spring months mainly because they are indoor and part of our office/clubhouse. As we get into May and the busier summer travel months, we do extend the hours to 7, 8, and eventually 9pm. I'm sorry the early close prevented you from using them, but I'm glad to see you took advantage of the free limo ride to the Big Texan. Our guests really enjoy that complimentary service!

As for recycling, the city of Amarillo does not have a recycling program, so we do not provide that service either. Thanks for staying with us and safe travels! Dave Heiser, General Manager

Park is very clean and well laid out with wide streets. Camp site was level, with dirt & gravel, 50 amp service, picnic table, and fire pit. It also was much longer than our 40ft motorhome with toad and plenty wide. There were trees around but still able to get satellite service. They escort you to your campsite. Close to I40 and easy to locate. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Relatively easy to get to off 1-40. We stayed in their pull through area which is a large gravel lot with hook ups. Easy in and out and large enough for our 44 ft and tow without unhooking. Other motor homes very close but for an overnight it didn't bother me. Nice dog park and other amenities. Nice people to deal with in the office. We camped at Amarillo Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.
