Not much appears to have been updated at Cowtown since our last visit
three years ago. The place is still clean and maintained. There are still a fair number of full-timer families. Our site was a long and reasonably level concrete pad (cracked a bit) with a grass patio. Site width is about 25 - 30'. We had enough room to park the truck after disconnecting. Water pressure was good at 50psi, 50a power was stable and wifi was decent although pokey at times. They recommend using their wifi for email and web surfing only - no streaming. Our 4g hotspot signal was 5-bar strong. They have cable TV available at no charge and OTA 80+ channels brought in just about everything except ABC channel 8. Overall, this is a convenient park that we like to use whenever visiting relatives in Ft. Worth. We will come back again. - Born2Roam

We spent one night there, meeting friends after we had taken delivery of our new motor home. When contacting Cowtown, the people on the phone were very nice, and worked to accommodate a short notice schedule change necessitated by a medical issue.
When we did arrive, the entrance was nice and had concrete roads. In the BEST terms I can come up with, the roads towards the back are horrible. Numerous potholes, muddy tracks (it had rained earlier that morning and all these potholes were filled with mud and water). When we were directed to our site, it was essentially a mud pit. It really wasn't something I wanted to be in with a new RV. Also, there was a tree on the curb side that was so close, I couldn't put the slide out. That necessitated backing up through the mud and repositioning the coach as far to the left as we could. Even with that, we couldn't put out the awning.
I was finally able to get the entry door into an area that did have some caliche and a little bit of grass so that we didn't track in mud every time we came inside.
The arrangement on our site made reaching both electric and sewer difficult. If we pulled forward far enough to get to the electric, the sewer connection was out of reach behind the coach. IMHO, not a well thought out arrangement at all. Wifi was acceptable but slow.
Leaving the following day was another adventure in driving through muddy potholes. The exit drive was so muddy that in trying to avoid the potholes, I had to make a turn that had a large tree on the inside of the turn, and received a long limb scrape along the side of the coach.
In general, I was really disappointed with Cowtown RV. - rcflyerrv

Best park in the area. 10 miles to Weatherford TX which is nearest town. We had a long pull thru, concrete pad and had no trouble getting in and out, parking or leveling. Some sites have trees and the check in staff seemed to be aware of clearance requirements for different sites.
There were some potholes in the unpaved area of the park that they are working on. Took their word on it, never saw anyone working on them.
The grounds are kept trimmed and mowed. There are many long term residents. Did not use their cable, pool, or wifi. Restrooms in our area appeared to be recently remodeled. Great design. Walk in shower in a private restroom. Unfortunately, never cleaned. No toilet paper or soap either. Went to another bathroom in the park a few days later and found a sign that said no more toilet paper would be supplied because residents are stealing it. - bluesnugs

We stayed 1 week in a pull through while visiting our family. We left to get some RV work done and came back for 3 days. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We will go back. - BJ&ME

We are headed south on I35, and decided to avoid the Dallas Ft Worth area by heading west towards 281. Started calling campgrounds and they were full- oil gas construction and full timers. Ended up at HoovesnWheels in Weatherford. The sites are gravel, fairly level and well maintained. It looks as if there isn't much room between the RV's but that is a misconception due to the size of many of the vehicles- there are 20 or more feet of grass between the sites, which all seem to have trees. The owners were quite responsive to phone calls, and someone checked on us right away when we pulled in after hours. The campground was surprisingly quiet - a real plus. All the buildings were in good shape and the bathroom clean. Good value for the money. They take Good Sam. - User2700

The park is located 2 miles south of Weatherford, the sites are large and spacious. Excellent WiFi. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed a week while touring the area the rate is the weekly rate. Would highly recommend this park if you are in the area. - JD1040
Sep 2016 - $35.00
We stayed one night and found office staff nice and helpful. Laundry clean, has small dog yard but nice. Sites gravel/dirt but we had no problems. We'd stay again. - SlicksMom
Dec 2015 - $38.00
The owner went over and above for us. Great man. He even found us another park so we could be closer to our son for the holidays. Sites are level but a little close. Easy on and off route 20. Also take it takes Good Sam. We will go back. - Markandjo
May 2015 - $45.00
This is more of a trailer park than an RV campground. The staff is nice enough, but we felt like we were in a scene from The Grapes of Wrath, with an entire park of unemployed oil field workers. If you're okay with that, by all means stay here. - ajmurray
Sep 2011 - $7.00
We love this park. There are no amenities, but the people are incredible. The manager is absolutely the most wonderful manager anywhere. Honest, does what he says and doesn't charge a penny more than he pays for electricity. The monthly rate is 225. And electricity is 9 cents. Only reason I didn't rate a 10 is no restrooms/laundry, but we will be going back. Very quiet park. - 2Johnsons
May 2011 - $25.00
One of the most pleasant places I have stayed in a long time. It was about a mile and half off I-20 but easy to get to and very quite. Everything we need within three miles. We have been here two months and we love it. - User2054
Dec 2016 - $14.00
Nice park from what we can see out our windows as it's a very cold and wet weekend
Place could use some upgrading and tree limb cutting though. - magic

Holiday Park Campground is a Corps of Engineers park on the west side of Benbrook Lake near Benbrook, Texas.
Miles of roadway for biking and walking plus miles of hiking and equestrian trails. The park is still recovering from floods earlier in 2016.
They have many RV sites with water and electricity. Central dump station. Back-in and pull through sites. Some sites unlevel.
We were in site 1. We've camped here multiple times and will return. - drfife
Jul 2016 - $14.00
This is a nice COE park. We were in #58 which is labeled as a 100+ foot pull-through. Due to the shape and the trees (both low hanging branches and the tree trunks themselves), it was actually a pull in and back out spot for our 40' 5th Wheel. The site was not level at all and the water post was on the opposite side of the trailer as the electrical post. The grass was about 8 inches long, which is far too long for a campground full of kids running around (snakes). However, this was only the case in the southern loop of the campground. The other parts seemed much nicer. Skip the south dump station altogether (it's on a hill) and drive five minutes to the north station, which is far more accessible and flat. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. We would definitely return...just not to site 58. - Josh H

We were in 30A site #23. Excellent shade. Some sites have low hanging branches. Sites very spacious. - drfife
Apr 2011 - $20.00
A beautiful little Corps of Engineers park. Lot's of trees and grass, asphalt pads and roads in fair to good condition, steel fire rings, covered picnic tables on concrete slabs, HUGE camping spaces, many lakefront spots. Dump station near entrance. If you have your own bathroom and shower, I'd give it a 10. If you don't, probably a 6. The vault toilet on our end of the park is old, smelly, and not especially clean. No showers on this end. However, there is a modern shower and toilet facility under construction and looks like it could be available any day now. - Sonic
Oct 2006 - $20.00
This park was so clean & quite. Tons of space between sites, and I do mean tons. The Park Hosts were very friendly and knew a lot about the area. The lake level was low, as are most lakes in North Texas right now. Beautiful oak trees throughout the park. This is truly a place to relax, take a walk, or just do nothing. Great park for a vacation or just a weekend home away from home. - Chayes
Feb 2015 - $15.00
Stayed short term. Showers were closed to campers due to mold and bug issues. Park is not maintained. Grass is brown and personal trash piled all over the park--old tires wood etc. Would not recommend a stay. Management is hostile and not will to help with any concerns. - too good
Oct 2014 - $35.00
The staff I dealt with was friendly and helpful and even loaned me a 50-to-30 amp adapter since I didn't have one. The gravel site was relatively level. I did have a couple of issues with the the park. First, the restroom/shower (singular on purpose) was pretty awful as was the laundry room. I definitely would not use either. Second, the visual appeal of the park is very much lacking. It is not a pretty place. Third, not a great place for kids. There is nothing for them to do and really no place to walk or run around without driving somewhere. Overall I felt the park was priced comparably to some much nicer parks within 25 miles. - JPen365
