Jul 2016 - $1.00
City run Park in the hometown of Waylon Jennings. About 15 spaces. No sewer. Only a few appear to have electric. Some of the water faucets are broken. Dirt sites with some grass. Cement picnic tables under little covered "pavilions" Low hanging tree branches. But trees offered SHADE to some sites. Yay!
When we pulled in about 11:00 am we were the only RV there. That gave us a chance to pick a site with SHADE, no low hanging branches, water and electric. I have to admit, it was a little "creepy" being there alone until other RV's showed up later in the day. Get there early.
What a nice Texas gesture to have a RV Park like this. Leave a nice donation because this kind of hospitality is what makes the world go round. God bless Texas, Littlefield and the memory of Waylon Jennings for their generosity! - Wjell
May 2015 - $1.00
This is a free park with water and electricity. Has a dump station, and 2-3 pull thru's that are very long. About 8 other back in sites, with lots of shade, and covered picnic tables.
Great place to walk dogs, lots of grass nearby. - lolasmom
May 2013 - $0.00
A fine little RV park that the city provides for free. The prior 2012 reviews are accurate from our perspective. Good sized, level gravel sites. Several TV channels (antenna) and our Verizon phone and broadband worked well. Well worth a donation. - rncordy
May 2016 - $25.00
We spent one night in a 44-footer with slide-outs and a tow. Richards RV is a small, quiet family-owned RV park a few miles northwest of Lubbock. Most of the residents are long term, but there are two pull-through sites in the front of the park for overnight stays. Both sites are level, partially shaded, easy in/easy out, very spacious and can accommodate any size RV. There is no cable or WiFi, but the rate is reasonable and the location is very convenient if you are traveling along US-84. - Carolynp
Dec 2016 - $40.00
NICE indoor pool was a big plus in December!
Nice office staff
local television plentiful
good cell service. - ginger2you
Aug 2016 - $36.00
We have stayed here overnight many times in the past 10 years as we come and go on our travels. It's very convenient with limited 50A service but a few pull-thru spaces long enough to stay hitched up. Just watch the weather as it can get nasty in this part of Texas. - Shadowberr
Jun 2015 - $31.00
Park was good for an overnite stop. Low water pressure. Nice indoor pool.
Helpful staff. Nothing exceptional. - CAPage
Nov 2016 - $25.00
Great location on the west side of Lubbock near the Loop, so it's easy to get around. We stayed in a "nightly" site which was easy to navigate, ample size, cement and level. Utilities worked well although water h/u was below ground and somewhat difficult to connect. No cable and WIFI was sketchy, but the $25 per night was a good deal. We have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. - Scott & Nancy
Mar 2016 - $25.00
This is a nice spot to stay if visiting Lubbock, TX. The city has grown out around the campground so you are close to everything but it is still quiet in the campground. There are many permanent sites here but they are well kept and no trashy campers. The over night sites are right by the office, pull thru sites with FHU. It looked like there are only a few overnight sites so be sure to call ahead and they will save one for you. AT&T cell and data worked great and Verizon WiFi did too. Ask at the office about WiFi and since you are close to the office they will give you their code to log on and you should be able to get it at your campsite. - jhav
Jan 2016 - $20.00
We are staying here short term from December 2015 and plan to stay until May 2016 to visit family. The rate is $230/Month + electricity. There is no cable or WiFi, but we have our own satellite dish and WiFi hot spot, so we didn't notice too much. The Campground is located near everything and still very quiet. The people are friendly and very helpful. We didn't end up with the site we reserved for some reason, so we have no trees, but everything else is good. - The Mastens
Jan 2017 - $45.00
Concrete roads, concrete pads, gravel area with picnic table. Off the 289 Loop so there is traffic noise, not disruptive. Staff are friendly. Daily ground maintenance done.
This is a campground we stay when visiting family in the area. - MamaLyn
Nov 2016 - $27.00
Not everyone picks up after their dog. Not a pristine resort by any stretch but hookups were good & staff friendly. Close spacing, some shade scattered about. Good central location. - rvrrat520
Oct 2016 - $27.00
We called ahead to verify availability for the night and was told to come on, no reservation needed. On arrival the man running the office was friendly and efficient. We didn't want to unhook and he showed us where there were a few restaurants within walking distance. The site was near the office and effectively shielded us from the highway noise which is probably not a problem anywhere in the park. Wifi worked well and several tv stations were easily found with the roof top antenna. We would definitely stop here again when passing through. - Trailbuddy
Oct 2016 - $1.00
Very nice free park south of town. Around 6 sites, long pull thru sites with water and power. There is a dump station available. The park is free for up to 3 days after which you can extend and pay a fee. Great place for an overnight and we used it for 2 days as we visited a friend. Our only complaint is that previous campers have a tendency to drop cigarette butts and other trash on the ground which makes it a little messy. - nmunozjr
Aug 2016 - $0.00
I stayed at this free city park one night while visiting friends in Brownfield. Although Brownfield has a similar free city park, it only offers 30 amp service. Since the weather was quite hot, I opted to stay here, as it offers 50 amp service, and commute to Brownfield. This park is very convenient to US385 just south of the city. The pull-through site was level and plenty long for my motorhome and tow car. As a way to say "thank you" I bought groceries and fuel in Levelland the next day. - Phaeton40AH
Aug 2016 - $1.00
Free city park. Great one night stop. Easy in and out. Felt safe. Get there early because it did fill up after we arrived at at 2:00 pm. - donw78025
Oct 2016 - $30.00
Very close to airport & highway but convenient to downtown & campus. Renovating restrooms. Lots of space to walk dogs. - Hulda
Jun 2016 - $29.00
50 amp did not work properly and it took us over an hour to discover that it was their outlet that was messed up. Could have really caused problems in our RV if we hadn't realized it wasn't our rig that had issues. Gravel road we were told to pull out of was too narrow for our 40 ft rig to navigate causing problems pulling out. We scraped the side of the RV w/ a concrete block "fence" in one space and had to move the timbers in order to get out. The roads are not big rig friendly especially if you are towing. - Texascheetah
May 2016 - $26.00
Noisy! Park is located across the highway from the airport and at night is on the direct approach path of helicopters. ALL NIGHT helo take offs and landings.
Staff was very friendly, pool was clean, sites were concrete, wide and mostly level, decent playground. There were some shade trees. You get a coupon for WiFi upon check-in that is good for 1 device for 24 hours, after that you can purchase the WiFi. Couldn't connect even after calling the support number. - pokeynpepper
Nov 2016 - $29.00
First, the good: Close in to town (Lubbock), easy access in & out, easy check in, plenty of room to maneuver & park-set up, easy.
The bad: Dirty showers (hair & soap scum everywhere), bathroom disgusting, WiFi was extremely poor. We called the office to comment, and were told it was because of the wind (I guess the wind there blows those internet waves around like dust, eh?) and because of people streaming. OK, at around 8PM, I can kind of understand that but at 7:15AM? And even if that's the case, for essentialy a cleared caliche parking lot with hook-ups, at $30/night, shouldn't the wifi be at least adequate?
Laundry was $2/load both washer & dryer so to wash and dry one load, $4.
The site photos are misleading at best... the RV park reminds me of an oil field supply business with an office and a large, cleared, caliche parking lot filled with equipment.
But again... it provided us with easy access to town & full hook-ups... a step above staying at a truck stop for the night and as with a truck stop, there was no fire ring, patio table - nothing, nada, zilch for $30/night. - Aus10
Nov 2016 - $28.00
Level sites. Good phone reception (Verizon). Good cable TV, good WiFi. This is an excellent travel campground. Stayed 2 nights. - Carl Ford
Oct 2016 - $19.00
We were in the back, new area, and it was very roomy. Nice and easy to park and exit. Pull thru had plenty of room for 44' motorhome and car pulled up after unhooked. No trees in the way. The streets are nice flat gravel. Friendly person at check in. - Donna Hintze
