Easy on-and-off, wide access roads, and the site was extra-long and level with no trouble reaching the utilities, all of which worked without issues. About half the sites seem to be occupied by month-or-more residents, but all are tidy. There was too much firepit rubbish and evidence of oblivious smokers and dog owners to call it clean, but we found it unoffensive. In fact, if you appreciate high desert scenery, this is a rather pretty park, with mountain views, and at every site, a tidy rock-lined landscaped area with cactus, brush and a 15' to 25' scrub tree, as well as either a firepit or barbeque grill. (Whoever decided to paint bright yellow smiley faces on the prickly pears, though, was just trying way too hard!)

Park management is a bit loosey-goosey -- we called to confirm availability and the man who answered said, "Plenty of room, come on in." When we arrived three hours later, the woman at the counter said, sorry, they were full. On protesting that we had called earlier (though we never left a name), she said, "Oh, you called? Then one of the two empties must be yours." Collected our money, had us sign next to the date in a looseleaf notebook, told us to take our pick of empty sites, and that was it. In the park, we found four empty sites ... and the other three stayed empty all night. Glad we spoke up or we'd have been sent on down the road. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This park IS the one at the I-10 Travel Stop, despite another listing under that name for Balmorhea.

Easy to get to off I-10. Nothing fancy but we didn't have to unhook for one night's stay. Most sites appear to have full time residents. Find an empty spot and that's where you stay. It appears they are trying to make some improvements with landscaping. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

A good place to stay overnight or even for a day or two. The rate is the PP rate. Hookups are easy to get to, and all work OK. These are pull through sites, so no need to unhook. Each site is attractively landscaped. We would certainly stay here again when crossing Texas --- good price, easy-in easy-out. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Passport America - can't beat the price for a nice long site with nice landscaping between sites. Plenty of room to maneuver. No #s on sites - make reservation that day and they put a cone out - pick out a site with a cone on it! No cable TV, antenna reception or wifi but for $10 who cares! Full store - a little pricey. There was a small bar - stopped in for a few minutes. Mainly caters to oil field workers. Would stay again for overnight. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Find this accidentally. Recently opened RV park. Many in Fort Stockton are full due to oil workers. Good place for passing through. Price based on Passport America. Would stay here again. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Our rate was PA. This is a basic park for an overnight stay, right off the highway. There are no restrooms except off the restaurant in the convenience store. The lots have been landscaped and the park is clean. It was a good value. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Really nice place. Our rate reflects the Passport America rate. Easy on/off I-10. No internet or cable. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate indicated is for Passport America and it's a bargain. Getting in/out from I-10 couldn't be any easier. At first glance this looks like a big gravel parking lot but as you approach your site you see the nice job they have done with "desert landscaping". Very easy negotiating our 40 ft motor home around the campground. Real close to I-10, yet it was quiet. The sites are solid, level gravel, pull-through, full hookup with 50 amp. Our Verizon cell service was 3 bars w/4G. Satellite TV reception was clear. This is a great find for an overnight stop. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Price quoted is Passport America price. Good for an overnighter only. Has some full timers that have make their sites look nice. Sites have small trees, but no shade. Prices in small store are very expensive. $5.19 for a half gallon of milk. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a basic RV park but does not have bathrooms, showers, Wi-Fi or cable. It does have huge pull-thru sites with 20/30/50 amp electrical service. The electrical voltage was good. Verizon air card and cell phone worked well here All of the roads and sites are on packed gravel. All sites are pull-thru and can accommodate almost any rig including the tow without unhitching. All of the utilities were located in the near the middle side of the site. There are two sewers per site. One is way in the back (almost unusable) and the other one in the middle side of the site. There are some long term residents. There was freeway noise at night. There is also a café, saloon, and a fueling station (a bit pricy) on the premises. For a basic RV park, this was a very good overnight stop. I would definitely use this park again in the future. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great for an overnight. Just south of I10 at exit 212. Front pull-through sites receive light from large light at the store. This is useful for walking dog at night in large gravel field. Quick check in at office. Quite a variety of cactus adjacent to sites. Sites were clean. Hookups were clean. Rate was the PPA rate. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

I rated this park excellent because it is easy on and easy off the I-10 coming from east to west. This park is at exit 212 from the interstate. Just go under the interstate and it is on the right. The signs aren't great and the office is not great. The rate is the Passport America. It was a safe clean overnight on a gravel pull thru with saguaro cactus and some leafless trees. Usually full hookups, but four days of freezing temperatures did the water system in. Beautiful views of the desert and the mountains. I wear ear plugs so did not hear any highway noise. Would definitely would stop here again even though there is no WiFi and no cable. One of the prettiest views and not just a gravel parking lot. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was once a nice park but has been neglected and has become run down. Trash, wood products, and items left there were scattered throughout the park. The nature walk area was grown up with weeds over our heads. The sewers were infested with sewer flies. The noise from the Interstate was so bad it kept us awake at night. The lady checking us in at the gas station next door was very unfriendly. This is a have to stop only for us. Would not stay there again. The price reflects the Passport America discount and is more than the park was worth. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a one night stopover park. The rate reflects the PPA rate. Regular rate is $20/night. Fifty amp power, water and sewer. Very little highway noise. There is nothing (shopping etc) in the area. The park is not well maintained, but it is reasonably clean. There is a small convenient store and a gas station. We will stay here again as it works perfectly into our schedule when we are traveling east or west on interstate 10. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was only one step above boondocking since we had electric. The restrooms were in the 24hr truck stop; didn't use them. The sites were gravel and level. There were a few full timers. There were no other campgrounds nearby, so we stayed here for one night using Passport America. We camped at Saddleback Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.
