Antler Oaks Lodge is the hidden gem of Bandera! It is situated just outside of town, surrounded by beautiful scenery and river access with a swimming hole and excellent fishing. The owners are constantly maintaining the roads, spaces and property. The spaces are very generous and flat, unlike other parks nearby that cram you in like sardines. They also have myriad activities on weekends and holidays, including hayrides to visit their exotic animals, scavenger hunts, movie nights and bingo. This is one of the nicest RV parks we have ever stayed in our 6 years of glamping and we look forward to coming back! We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed with a group of Airstreamers. The road in is pretty rough, but it is fine. It made sure that no one is speeding through the area. Check in was extremely easy and the woman at the front desk was friendly.

The Antler Oaks Lodge is beautiful! It also had a library and games to play. I believe that Saturday includes a movie night with popcorn at the lodge.

Bathrooms are clean. Hiking down to the river was nice (there is a nice river access) and nice paths around the property. Antler Oaks is nicely away from the road, but still so close to town where there is plenty to do.

When we were packing up to leave, there was a bunch of (actual) turkeys making noise - so cool. We will stay here again. We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bandera has many things to do. We visited the following during our stay here and would recommend them: Bandera Natural History Museum, OST, and Silver Dollar. Very close to Fredricksburg, Kerrville, Comfort, and Medina for other things to do.

Up front, my only complaint is the entrance road....very bumpy and needs help. Beyond that, what I have read from previous reviewers wasn't my experience. Stayed for 4 nights, and brought along 13 other rigs for an Airstream Rally. Our rate was discounted for the size of the group. The park is about two miles from town and sits well back from Hwy 16, so little to no noise. The entrance road is no longer one-way, pool clean (too chilly this stay), sites generally level, staff available and responsive to our needs. The park is maybe 3 years old, and yes, they continue to work on it. But, our group seemed to like the park, and the Main Lodge. Lots of families judging by the number of kids on a hay ride on Saturday evening. Based on our experience, I would recommend it. We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

If you make it into the park on the incredibly horrible roads, you will come to the majestic lodge. It is indeed beautiful. But the bathrooms were dirty, the rugs filthy, and remnants of cooking on the kitchen stove. The pool behind the lodge looked like brown sludge. We were there several days and only saw one person -- a young lady who registered us. No one in the office on Saturday or Sunday. No evidence of maintenance throughout the RV park. There, the gravel sites were unlevel and narrow. Stickers in the grass. Pieces of pipes and connectors sticking up all over -- someone said they looked like remnants of an old irrigation system. Dangerous, especially at night since there is little to no lighting in the RV park. Would never recommend this park. We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a good size place with gravel sites, shaded areas and friendly staff. Our site was pretty level but a little too narrow in that we could not open our awning fully due to the trees and our slides when opened were rubbing up against the trees. The trees just need a good grooming to raise the tree canopy. The grass was tall and we had ant beds everywhere. The restrooms on site did not function well, but the ones located inside the lodge worked great. During our stay, the park was quiet and we did not hear a lot of road noise since it's off the main road a bit which was nice. We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We have been coming to Bandera for years. Wanting to check out a new park we drove out to Antlers. You drive in on a one way road to a building that is something out of a movie. Large, beautiful, kinda something you would see in the mountains of Montana. But from there, across the street is the "activities" building and then on down the one way road is the cabins and then the campground.

Everyone has to drive thru the campground to exit the property. The campground sites are close to each other, gravel, not level, too narrow and too short.

We decided to not stay. To get to the pool from the campground you have to drive out the exit, then turn back in toward the office to reach the pool. Whoever laid it out?? We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This a new park since October 2013. The Grand Lodge is exactly that, Grand! The pool is beautiful and that's where it stops. RV sites are gravel and not level. Lots of weeds overgrowing the roads and sites. Broken trees and the most dangerous element is the irrigation system they installed where black PVC is exposed in many places and you have to be very careful where you walk, especially at dark. This campground needs a lot of attention from its owners to support the prices they charge. No Bang for the Buck! We camped at Antler Oaks Lodge and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
