13 Parks near Bay City, Texas
May 2016 - $14.00
The park would be your best selection when you happen to be in the area. The area has a large influx of working folks staying at the campgrounds, and the staff try to keep a few open spots for the true RVers on the road. But again, mainly working folks who are in the area. I stayed 2 months and found it to be great. They keep the place clean and keep the long term RVs' parking and speed under control.
Children are in the area and must be watched when driving. - Rose6Ranch
May 2016 - $38.00
Nice park overall. Conrete pads, grass yards, pull-throughs and back-ins. Lighted at night, clean showers and restrooms, and laundry with 4 washers and 4 dyers. However, if you need WiFi, bring your own, because it never works. No pool or play area and kind of expensive if you stay monthly cause its $450 AND charge you for electricity. For the WiFi not to work and no amenities it's pricey because the electric bill is HIGH! - Gypsy travelers
Nov 2015 - $15.00
The park is clean and the staff is very friendly. We were here through Thanksgiving, and there was a communal potluck dinner, which was nice. Big, flat, level concrete pads with 50, 30, 20 amp, sewer, cable, and dual water hookups on a lighted pedestal. Wide open, with not much space between pads. No privacy, or shade. No picnic table, fire pit, or grill. The park is very clean, almost to the point of feeling sterile. The bathrooms are pleasant, tiled and well maintained with access codes required for entry. Water pressure in the shower is adequate. The road noise is excessive and there are frequent trains that run through the night. We came because the reviews stated there was good WiFi, but it is spotty at best. Enough for an email, but not if there is a picture attached. It isn't even fast enough, or consistent enough to support a speed test through Ookla or Speakeasy. They offer Good Sam as well as Escapees discounts, so our weekly rate averaged out to $15/night. - Fezzik_Mallard
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Not really an overnight RV Camp, as most folks are the long term workers in the area, I have yet to see an open spot they reserve for this and you might get lucky on a call
But considering this I did get a spot but again it was for 1 month stay (very good price for the area) - very well kept and the older couple "Managers" are very nice and helpful. The grounds are well kept and for the most part secure as the entrance is one way in and out, plus high fenced.
pads are great and roomy without being ontop of each other.
Will be back should there be a spot open. - Rose6Ranch
Mar 2014 - $35.00
The only reason this received an 8 was because it did not have pull thru's. All cement, extra parking for your automobile, street lights, down right friendly Seniors running the place. Would recommend this place. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. (We never give a 10, so a 9 would be our top for any campground.) - We3Brvn
Mar 2012 - $35.00
Super quiet, concrete pads, small yards at each spot for a pet. Super owners. We would stay here again. Nicest park in this area. - CMDENTON
Dec 2010 - $20.00
The showers were functional and the water was hot. However, there was mold on the walls, and the stall was littered with personal items. The owners acknowledged they need some attention. I could not connect on their Wi-Fi. I had 5 bars of signal strength but could not get an IP address and connected. There were locals that could connect and some tried to help me. The management even contacted their Tech Guy, and he would have come by, but I declined as it was New Year’s Eve. The management was helpful and the residents we met were friendly. The next day at another RV park my laptop connected automatically as has been the case for some time. The $20 is after a $5 Good Sam discount on the rate of $25. - rossby
Dec 2009 - $25.00
Campground owner was very nice and chatty. Makes you feel very welcome. She loves her pets and goes out of her way to introduce you to them. We stayed here to visit some friends in Bay City. Price is a bit high for a park with no amenities to speak of. Children would be bored out of their minds. Wi-Fi is now available. - J59T
Dec 2009 - $20.00
We used this park as an overnight stay, and found it more than adequate. The cable TV and Wi-Fi were excellent, they even provided the cable for the TV hookup. The price was only $20 for the night, so it appears they dropped the price due to other posts. Just a note: they only have two pull-through sites, but the owner is VERY accommodating, so I'm sure she would try to fit you in someplace. We will definitely stay here again. - michdoc
Feb 2011 - $35.00
This is an older park with 28 total RV sites that can accommodate large rigs. They have free Wi-Fi and satellite TV available. There is a laundry, grocery store, and cabin rentals, restaurant, and liquor store on the premises. This park is very close to the beach at Matagorda. The staff is friendly and helpful. - pops747
Jun 2009 - $45.00
Stayed in a cabin on the grounds. When I checked in I paid in cash but was still asked for my credit card number. This raised a red flag. Had a shaded area where I could barbecue but the Mosquitoes were so bad that it was difficult to do anything outside at any given time of the day. Well water smelled funny and left a sticky feeling after bathing. I checked out, the cabin was cleared by the manager yet 2 weeks later I started getting emails about, "How a set of dishes was missing," out of the cabin. There were no dishes in the cabin, I had brought my own, so this caught me by surprise. The manager and I had done a walk through of the cabin before I left, and she had accepted it. I resent being called a thief over a cheap set of dishes much less anything else. Think twice before staying here. If you do, be very careful about using your credit card. I canceled my card shortly after leaving here to avoid any fraudulent charges and contacted the local sheriff about the matter. - peppy2
Jun 2011 - $118.00
We stayed a week and our rate reflects that. You do get used to the train noise but it takes a couple of days. Sites are nicely spaced with cement pads. Restrooms there is one toilet. There are 2 sinks and 3 Showers in a separate room. The dressing room is communal so singles or couples need to lock the door. We had no trouble with not being able to take showers whenever we wanted. Sites are level and cement space. access is off a wide city street and the park road is a paved straight shot. We were visiting relatives in town. Did meet the park owners but the couple on site are nice and trimmed a tree quickly after we asked. Park appears to be well maintained and improvements are occurring as time permits. We stayed one week and are on our way back for another two. - junkmale56
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Small park, insanely tight spaces especially for the price, but balanced by the two catch and release fishing ponds, nice family area with small pool, dayroom area with dvds and books to borrow, BBQ area, etc. AT&T barely gets cell reception here. Place is kept landscaped and groomed, they are finishing a laundry to include a drop off option. Cable (rather, DirecTV via cable, which seems to be the choice with most parks in this area - for those of you hoping for real cable and the option to get a router for hardline internet). Pleasant staff, quiet (and I was a day sleeper, working refinery down the road). - Ditchdoc
Oct 2015 - $17.00
We were highly dissatisfied with our stay Stonebridge RV park. The spots are close together. With absolutely no lighting around the park. Parking is a nightmare ! When park management was notified they did nothing to solve the problem. The trees around the park are overgrown, dropping limbs on the RV's & vehicles. The Wi-Fi didn't work at anytime during our stay. Cell service wasn't very good either. The freezers, couches, & kitchen tables our neighbors had stacked around there RV took the "resort" fill right out the place. The exercise room was small with one treadmill & bike. Pool & hot tub looked nice. It was closed for maintenance during our stay. The staff was over all rude & unhelpful. We will not be staying here again !! - lacroixr
Mar 2015 - $20.00
I was here for 6 months for work. The park looks great when all the trucks are gone during the day. It is very crowded when the workers come in. Also the sites are too close together. Vehicle parking is less than desirable. The wifi system is inadequate, after going up on price 50.00 per month. Wifi is as slow as a turtle race. The public water supply will leave a residue in you pluming fixtures, and smells like sulfur. Buy bottled water. The swimming pool is always dirty. The only reason I stayed, was because of it location to the plant. - Joe Anthony
Oct 2013 - $9.00
Back-in site was a little tight to get into, but campground manager is very helpful. He trimmed low hanging branches above our RV immediately when asked, is very accommodating, and even offers to help with any problems. Dish reception no problem, Verizon signal adequate, but a little weak on WiFi, no problem with phone. Campground internet works well. Concrete runners and patio on each site. Shade trees are great. The rate is the monthly rate + electric. Quiet, friendly park, well maintained. Only about 15 miles from bay. - User1392
Jun 2012 - $26.00
We stayed here a month. Park is under new management. Very well maintained and very friendly people. Nice laundry facilities. Excellent Wi-Fi connection. If you need anything, just ask. I would recommend this park. I will definitely be back. - Heathersc
Dec 2009 - $26.00
This is a rough little park. Very little maintenance has been done here. The sites are very difficult to get into and the pull through was impossible for my 36' trailer. I cannot recommend this park to anyone with a large rig. Beware the low branches. - jayc
Oct 2015 - $32.00
This is a small park on one of the canals in Sargent Bay (usually listed under Bay City). Sargent it self is three or four buildings, one of which is a convenience store, gas station, and hardware store. There one other small store and gas station. There are about four restaurants. We ate in one on the water with very good food, but quite pricy. The RV park has 17 large back in pads that are something like 20 x60 feet with full hookups. The WIFI is decent, but the cable TV selection is weak. Most over the air stations from Houston are religious, Spanish speaking, or Asian speaking. The park is built around a large driving area which makes backing into most of the sites relatively easy. The front three sites on each site have limited space for backing up. There is building which has a laundry and bath facilities as well as a large scree TV, but we only know about from talking with other guests. All other guests were long term from few months to two years. It is on a canal, but has no boating landing facilities. It is located a few minutes from everything. Unless you fish and or go boating, there is basically nothing no do here. There is a very large rough beach across the Intercoastal. This is by far the best park in the area. The owner is absent, but very available by ph0ne. If I came back, I would stay here again. - Mrmac8
Feb 2014 - $15.00
We stayed here one month. Only 12 sites but concrete slabs and great location on the Texas inter-coastal if you like ocean coastal fishing. They have boat access and docks right next to the premium site we chose. The owners are not on site but have security cameras and can complete all paperwork over the phone. We loved this park and the wildlife refuge minutes away. Galveston is about a half hour up the coast. We will return to this park. Note that during summer fishing season, we think this area may get a bit noisy but it was very quiet in February. Their website is very accurate. Great owners. - adadiehl
Sep 2016 - $50.00
Greedy, rude owners. NO Wifi! Green Algea in their water! Several campers damaged here, & They have you sign away their liability for your damages at check in. Still under loud construction, equipment and workers. Worst place we've stayed!
They charge the highest per kilowatt in this area. With No Shade, Power bills are close to $300 a month!
Ongoing Sewer problems. They've left a hole full of water and exposed pipe not properly roped off for a month now.
Mowers come thru in shifts so it takes all day Sat, with noise and grass trimmings everywhere from 7:30 -6.
Any complaints will be directed to the corporate office, who will not return your calls. - Camper777
May 2016 - $45.00
This is a great park with excellent managers. It has "it" all; gated w/ 24 hr. coded access, water, sewer, power, cable, WiFi (not consistent), pool, laundry, everything cleaned often, level concrete sites with parking area and picnic table, lawn space between sites. New landscaping so don't drive off the concrete. Do need to improve (fence) their dog walks. - siftndirt
