6 RV Parks near Borger, Texas
Jul 2018 - $30.00
This RV park does not appear to have ever been intended for use by people traveling for pleasure. By all appearances it is a contractors camp, built to take advantage of the surge in skilled labor during the local petrochemical complex's construction or turnaround activity. There are 38 back-in sites formed into a U-shape. The park is enclosed by a six foot fence. The entire park is built on a small hill and there is no such thing as a level site. Lack of level runs front-to-back, side-to-side and diagonally, depending on which site you get. Our first try, site #22 was unlevel front to back. The angle was manageable by our leveling system but the sewer connection was 20 feet away (all the way to the back of the site) and uphill. We moved to the other side of the "U", site #10. Still had a twenty foot run to the sewer connection but at least it was downhill. The site itself was diagonally unlevel. The driver-side rear corner had the tires several inches off the ground while the passenger side front corner was only two inches from touching the ground. Of the 38 sites, 10 were occupied. We were the only casual travelers but the park was tidy. There is no on-site management. The park is operated by a man in Pampa (the next town over, 30 miles to the east). We were instructed to put our money in an envelope and slide it under a locked door in the shower/laundry house. Which by the way was very nice. There is a bank of well maintained coin-operated washing machines and dryers and very clean, spacious showers. The best thing about this park is the WiFi. It was a strong signal, easy to connect and hi-speed. Verizon was 5 bars in park, but almost nowhere else in town, usually 2 bars. - jperry29

This is not your normal RV "Park". There is absolutely nothing park-like about it, it is literally a parking lot with hook-ups. There are only 5 sites, everything is a back-in up to a seven foot metal fence that blocks the view of a train switching yard on the other side. All services, power water, sewer are mounted on the fence or at the foot of it. I had to use 25 feet of sewer hose to reach the connection.
The parking lot is small and L-shaped. If you are to park in site #3 and then someone parks in site #4, which is perpendicular to #3, then the one parked in #3 is blocked in, unless the camper in #3 or #4 is a Scamp, Casita or small pop-up.
The 50 amp service at Daze End was solid, holding voltage at no less than 112 V. I ran 2 A/C's, the water heater on electric and the fridge on electric, the microwave and a toaster oven, all with no dip in voltage.
The lot is level and made of concrete aggregate mixed with ground asphalt. It is not pretty but it works. Checking in was easy, called the number on the sign and the owner, a nice gentlemen I later met, told me to just take whatever I wanted and he would come around the next day. When he asked how long I was staying I told him that I did not have a departure day in mind. He said that was okay and that when I knew when I was going to go to just give him a call and we would settle up the payment at that time.
Verizon was five bars, jetpack ran at about 8mbps. No obstructions in any direction for satellite. - jperry29
Mar 2016 - $1.00
This park is a convenient stopover and ok for one night. It seemed safe, easy to locate, and reasonably quiet. There was trash throughout the park and people do not bother to clean up after their dogs. There was broken glass at the site. Water hook ups leaked. It wouldn't take a lot to make this a very pleasant park, mostly cleanup and minor repairs. - prius10
May 2013 - $10.00
Twenty/30 amp electric only back-in sites in a large paved area marked with painted lines next to a city street. Payment is by donation, with a three day limit. There is a dump station and fresh water fill available. This no frills park is a great option if you want to stay in Borger rather than out at Lake Meredith if visiting the Borger/Phillips area. We would stay here again if in the area. - Big Moose
Sep 2012 - $1.00
This is OK for an overnight stay and the price is certainly right, i.e . free. Located in the city park. There is a 3 day limit. A dump station is available. 20 and 30 amp electric and water. There are 10 sites, all back in. The park is a pretty place to walk. There is some road noise but not bad. The $ 1.00 is not charged, but the review would not post without a charge being entered. - starwind
Sep 2018 - $20.00
This NRA has some free campsites with no hookups, but also have some with Water and Electric for $20. Great view above the Lake and very helpful/friendly support at the Store (where you check in). It is a little bit off the beaten path. Only issue we had was a lot of sticky burrs. When not on the pavement. Was a nice place to stay for a night. - Davishouse2
Jul 2018 - $1.00
NRA park overlooking Lake Meridith reservoir and dam. Scattered sun shelters and picnic tables and dirt/gravel more or less flatten ill-defined "sites" by the cliffs giving great views of the water, hills and sunsets. First come, serve, for free. There are several more recent paved pull through real sites with electricity and apparently reservable further away up the hill with a bathhouse that I didn't investigate. We were dry camping and really enjoyed our short stay. - 210jem
Jun 2016 - $0.00
It is amazing that places like this are available for free. No hookups, but the view of the lake / dam was great. Picnic tables, elevated grills, sun shelters were present at each site. Sites were pretty much wherever you could fit your rig in. Larger rigs have limited availability, but there were two or three fifth wheels there. We put our 30' bumper pull in on a cliff-side site. It's about a 15 minute drive from Fritch, so get your necessities before heading to the campground. We stayed one night here after visiting the nearby (~30 min) Flint quarries nat'l park. - WineStream
Aug 2018 - $15.00
Large campground right off of Hwy 152. All the sites have new electric pedestals with both 30 and 50 amp. There were only two other people here in the park. They have a laundromat in a small building. Payment is on honor system; they have a small building to sign in and leave payment. The water is good and we got great TV antenna reception. Owner came by to talk a bit; very nice lady. - Kerch Family
Apr 2017 - $15.00
Owner prompt to answer phone, give me a spot and text me park information. Small park, great Passport America rates. Level spots, unusually good Internet service. Plenty of grass and trees around park to make my dogs happy. There were some pot holes in the gravel roads but it was easy to avoid them. I will stay here again. - Dancinlady
Mar 2017 - $15.00
The person whom I dealt with was professional and yet friendly & personable. She made sure every thing was to my expectations and put me in a quiet spot that was very manageable for me to pull into since I am a newbie to RVing I stayed in a 32 ft travel trailer for a couple of days and enjoyed my stay. I will stay again when in this area.
The sites are pull thru and long enough for a tow vehicle to be included
However the door of the travel trailer to be accessible to the cement patio pad, creates connectivity problems on the sewer connection side even with a long hose. - Tj Hunter
Jul 2017 - $1.00
I had to work in the Amarillo area for several months. I stayed at Country Sunset RV for about 2 months. Steve and his wife were great. Very nice and well kept park. The free laundry and wifi were a plus. Although the trains were close, the park is pretty quiet. I would stay here in again with no hesitation. Well worth the drive to stay in a nice and safe environment with good neighbors. Thanks again Steve for all the help and a good stay. Lance B. - LanceB
Mar 2017 - $25.00
The park is exactly as previously described. It's a no frills park on gravel, nice and level with well-maintained full hookup. Trains nearby. Large dog area. Free Laundry. Friendly owners, couldn't be more helpful. - fd536
Oct 2016 - $25.00
If not for the one review on RV Park Reviews, we would not have found this place. The owner is very nice. The park is super clean and carefully kept. Wi-Fi is excellent. The laundry is free! No bathrooms, so don't expect luxury. But for a one night stay after boondocking we were happy to be here. The campground is basically an open parking lot next to an RV storage place. Don't let that put you off! Some might be bothered by the trains, but that's what this part of the country is all about. - User2152
