5 Parks near Borger, Texas
Jul 2016 - $14.00
This is not your normal RV "Park". There is absolutely nothing park-like about it, it is literally a parking lot with hook-ups. There are only 5 sites, everything is a back-in up to a seven foot metal fence that blocks the view of a train switching yard on the other side. All services, power water, sewer are mounted on the fence or at the foot of it. I had to use 25 feet of sewer hose to reach the connection.
The parking lot is small and L-shaped. If you are to park in site #3 and then someone parks in site #4, which is perpendicular to #3, then the one parked in #3 is blocked in, unless the camper in #3 or #4 is a Scamp, Casita or small pop-up.
The 50 amp service at Daze End was solid, holding voltage at no less than 112 V. I ran 2 A/C's, the water heater on electric and the fridge on electric, the microwave and a toaster oven, all with no dip in voltage.
The lot is level and made of concrete aggregate mixed with ground asphalt. It is not pretty but it works. Checking in was easy, called the number on the sign and the owner, a nice gentlemen I later met, told me to just take whatever I wanted and he would come around the next day. When he asked how long I was staying I told him that I did not have a departure day in mind. He said that was okay and that when I knew when I was going to go to just give him a call and we would settle up the payment at that time.
Verizon was five bars, jetpack ran at about 8mbps. No obstructions in any direction for satellite. - jperry29

This park is a convenient stopover and ok for one night. It seemed safe, easy to locate, and reasonably quiet. There was trash throughout the park and people do not bother to clean up after their dogs. There was broken glass at the site. Water hook ups leaked. It wouldn't take a lot to make this a very pleasant park, mostly cleanup and minor repairs. - prius10
May 2013 - $10.00
Twenty/30 amp electric only back-in sites in a large paved area marked with painted lines next to a city street. Payment is by donation, with a three day limit. There is a dump station and fresh water fill available. This no frills park is a great option if you want to stay in Borger rather than out at Lake Meredith if visiting the Borger/Phillips area. We would stay here again if in the area. - Big Moose
Sep 2012 - $1.00
This is OK for an overnight stay and the price is certainly right, i.e . free. Located in the city park. There is a 3 day limit. A dump station is available. 20 and 30 amp electric and water. There are 10 sites, all back in. The park is a pretty place to walk. There is some road noise but not bad. The $ 1.00 is not charged, but the review would not post without a charge being entered. - starwind

It is amazing that places like this are available for free. No hookups, but the view of the lake / dam was great. Picnic tables, elevated grills, sun shelters were present at each site. Sites were pretty much wherever you could fit your rig in. Larger rigs have limited availability, but there were two or three fifth wheels there. We put our 30' bumper pull in on a cliff-side site. It's about a 15 minute drive from Fritch, so get your necessities before heading to the campground. We stayed one night here after visiting the nearby (~30 min) Flint quarries nat'l park. - WineStream
Sep 2015 - $1.00
I stayed in the Sanford-Yake Campground. It's pretty hard to argue with free. There is no charge, no electricity, no sewer and no water. I think there is a dump and water at the entrance by the Ranger's Office. The restroom is a bit of a walk from most sites, but reasonably clean. The campground appears to be a combination of both a campground and a picnic ground. There are no clearly designated camping spots. You choose a picnic table and park on the gravel. The campground overlooks Lake Meredith and the dam that forms the lake. There is no screening of any kind between the sites but that wasn't a problem because there was almost nobody there. This wouldn't be a destination for me but is adequate for an overnight stay while passing through the area. The signage directing one from the highway to the campground is extremely poor to nonexistent - have Google maps, or an equivalent, to help guide you in if you haven't been before. - Teardrop11
Apr 2011 - $0.00
What a find! We can't believe this campground is free and has such a low usage. There are multiple campgrounds located around the lake - camping is somewhat dispersed, thus there is not an absolute number of sites listed. For additional info, please refer to the website. Some have dump stations with fresh water and flush toilets. Most have covered picnic tables and grills. Most sites are lake-front. However, the shoreline is rugged and at the time we were here, the lake level was down excessively. There are boat ramps for boaters and fishermen. When we were here, there were only a handful of campers and sometimes we were the only campers in our campground. The park is patrolled by National Park rangers. The only negative we had was unpredictable winds. We will definitely camp here again after we reach the 14-day limit. - 2Scampers
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Passport America Rate is $15 and you can stay for 3 days. Park roads are caliche surface and hard packed. Most sites are pull-through and face north so you have evening shade. Concrete patios are good for center door 5th wheels and gas rigs, but placed completely wrong for big rigs, but no big deal. Sites are level. Park occupants are mostly pull trailers of local workers. No road noise as State Hwy 152 is not a busy road. There was some noise early of workers leaving park, but we're early risers and did not bother us. Small market in town behind courthouse for necessary groceries. Borger is 11 miles away and has WalMart and United Supermarket stores as well as other shopping. - TheBigL

This park is a no frills, super clean park, just what you need when coming in to Panhandle. Big-rig friendly and easy access to I-40. The owner is what makes this place GREAT! Fair rate, great Wi-Fi, and service with a smile. The BBQ area is a nice touch if you want to get outside. The laundry facility was always spotless. Make sure to give this place a chance if you are just passing through or coming to town for work. - FueledbyFreedom
