Basic municipal RV park located within the Coleman City Park built by the WPA in '38-'40. 14 pull-thru sites. All sites have 30-amp receptacles w/ water faucet. There are two 50-amp electric boxes site# 2A & 2B (the 2nd site behind the yellow info kiosk). We arrived on a 100+ degree day & ran our four 15,000 BTU A/C's with no problems plugged into the 50-amp receptacle. We noticed just about all of the other Rv's plugged into the 30-amp receptacles had to reset their circuit breaker often. Voltage did drop to 110 VAC in the heat of the afternoon on 1 leg, but the other leg stayed at 123 VAC. Large dump station easy to access on the way out. The parking lot is a mix of dirt & gravel (more dirt than gravel). Sign posted stating 5-day stay limit. Nice grassy park to walk your dog. AT&T internet good strong signal - achieved a 10 mbps D/L speed. Donation box by dump station. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Motorhome.

The municipal swimming pool is in walking distance. Opens in June thru end of August. If windy, be prepared for lots of dust blowing around as the parking lot is dirt.

About as basic as you can get. A dirt pad, not level and in a flash flood prone area. The shore power plugs look like something that should be feared to touch. Having said that, this is a great overnight stop. As long as rain is not in the forecast I would stay here again. While the power plugs look scary, they deliver good power. Voltage never dropped below 115, running everything but an air conditioner (it was a cool afternoon and night). Verizon signal as good as it gets and clear sky to DIRECTV satellites. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The town is down to just one grocery store, Walmart left town a couple years ago. Plenty of chain fast food to choose from.

How often do we come across a free RV spot with 30 amp electric, water & a dump station? Basically...never! You can park here for up to 5 days free. (Donations are accepted)  There are 16 sites, some are shaded. Sites are sand & gravel and pretty level. You'd think this place would be packed! There were only 4 RV's when we pulled in, 2 others came after us. It's nothing fancy but it was very quiet, open & we felt very safe. We will definitely stay again when passing thru. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There were 16 sites with water & electric, only 2 had 50 amp the rest were 20&30amp. Water pressure was good. Sites were easily accessible and pretty level in dirt. Located in a city park the is room for dog walking on a leash and children to play. You can stay 5 days Free and there is a donation box near the dump site. Maintenance workers drive thru often and always wave and are very friendly and helpful. I was there in a 32ft travel trailer and stayed 5 days and frequented the businesses in town. There is a gas station/convenience store 1 blk away. Only surprise I found was the Wal-Mart in town had been closed but still showed on GPS. Will definitely stay here again! We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Quite a few dollar stores and a United Supermarket within a couple of miles. Local Farmers Coop has propane refills at a flat $15 rate and was only place I saw. Big flat parking lot if you don't want to unhook. Friendly small town and streets in downtown are actually made of Red Bricks

If you have a Garmin, do not follow its directions! Go south on US 62, and once you are around the curve north of the park, turn south on 2nd Street. Turn left into the park. It is marked with signs. The is a bare-bones City RV Park. Note: There is no 50 amp power! Like Rockhill (review below), we camped in 5A. This site has a weak 30 amp breaker. We had to reset it several times. Site was on an incline, but most other sites appeared more level. I believe there were 11 sites total. Two sites appeared to be long-term, and looked like it. One can pull into the sites from either direction. The "A" means the front of the RV is facing east; the "B" means the front of the RV is facing west. Note: site 5 is front facing east only, so 5A. The "interior" might be a little tight for the real large rigs, but is doable. The power hookup is crude - one box has a 30 amp socket and a different box has a 30 amp breaker. Dumpster was near. Donation box is across the park street from the park. Some highway noise from US 62 but not bad. There is no severe weather shelter! We would stay here again as long as there were no severe weather warnings. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a regular stop for us, but this time it was quite noisy after dark. A lot of loud cars for a few hours after dark. I wish they would spray the weeds between the sites. The spots are a good value, we always leave a donation in the on site box. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Let's keep this one a secret! :) :) We passed up a couple private RV parks that looked okay but had read the reviews here and saw the Chamber Coleman Park website, and sure enough, a big difference is that the Coleman hookups site is in the perimeter of a very big nice City/County park. The campsites are basic with no frills except dumpster, water/electric in the sites, and a dump station. All good. But the park has extras with Frisbee golf, kids playscape, walking trails, picnic area and more. We drive from NM to central TX several times a year and are always looking for new overnight stopping places to half the long plains journey. This option is a keeper. We were able to self-service check in, plug in level up (no biggie), go for a very pleasant walk after the long ride, come back and have dinner in our now warm camper. Would have like to have checked out some of the restaurants on the convenient sign board but were too tired. Late at night could hear a little truck tire road noise from time to time, but I use earplugs anyway so was not as much of an issue as say the KOA in Lubbock. Thanks, Brownfield Chamber, City/County Parks, Taxpayers, and others who made this jewel possible! Be generous with your donation. These folks have done good! We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Truck Camper.

First time to stay at a city park-owned RV site. It was free, too (with a donation box close by, of course - we left $10, hence the rate shown above). Well-maintained, with a dumpster close by for depositing trash. It was located in the city park with great views. Away from the highway enough that you didn't hear a lot of road traffic noise. Had 50 and 30 amp sites. Watched a beautiful sunset. Several more people pulled in during the night. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

I called the listed number in advance just to ask about the potential availability and discovered there is usually space except around the holidays. We had plenty of room when we arrived and the small area did not fill up. There was not a switch on the power pole, but we have an electrical management system so there was no surge of power as we plugged in. We did not connect to the water nor use the dump as we were only looking for an overnight spot. We made a donation as suggested in the metal box near the dump area. If you enter via the main "gate", the clearance is listed at over 14 feet, but we could not read the sign from the intersection so we drove around. Also, we dragged a little bit as we crossed the swells in the intersection north of the park. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is great place to stop for an over night, the park is free however they do ask for donations and we think everyone should donate something as they supply 30 amp power, water hook ups and a sewer dump. It was quiet, bordered large city park and was easy to get into. We recommend stopping if you are in the area, just remember please donate and that you can only stay a maximum of 5 days. Understand that this is NOT an RV resort.

It is a city operated RV parking area with hookups. It is beside a park that is very large and very nice. Do not come here expecting services, but it's a great place to land when passing through. I'm so impressed that the city would offer this to all of us. THANK YOU, CITY!

We made a donation of $20 for the use of power and the space.

The sites are just gravel and dirt. The power is 30 amp and would not run our coach. But it did not matter. We were in a safe place and we appreciated it. We are a big rig and didn't want to unhook for the night. It was ok getting our 70 feet in safely. But maybe not if the place was busy. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Motorhome.

As others have stated, this is a nice, FREE, no-frills city-owned RV park which is great for an overnight stop or a bit longer. It's located on the NW corner of a large recreational park complex. Great for walking pets. It's old, a bit worn, and dirty, but fully serviceable;especially, considering it's free. The information signboard indicated a 5 day maximum stay. Donations are accepted at a drop box on the south edge of the RV park. The sites are reasonably level, but some adjustments could be needed. We had to add a couple inches on one side of our travel trailer to make it level. Each site has water and 20/30 amp electric. There was no 50 amp service at our site and I didn't check for it at the other sites. Voltage was good. We didn't use the water, so can't comment on the pressure. A sewage dump station is on site. AT&T service was weak with only Edge (read: SLOW) data. Verizon's signal is strong with fast LTE data speeds. I had trouble sleeping here due to the constant traffic noise from nearby US385. Despite that, I'd stay here again for one night when passing through. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park is "free" but we left donation in box (not easy to find.) Sites are reasonably level. Noise not a big issue. This is a great service by a small town; wish more did this so we could avoid Walmarts. Problems noted are: no restroom or shower so be self-contained. No instructions or guides on the signboard, so you have to guess on process. Over the air signal adequate. I suspect if you were here in summer, you could use the facilities, which seemed lovely--driving range, frisbee golf, etc. It was a nice gesture by the town and we appreciated it and got a good night's rest. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Motorhome.
