The fellow working in the office was friendly and escorted us to our site. Not a destination park but good enough for overnight. Seems to be a few long term trailers but we didn't see anyone around. Be sure to keep all doors and hatches closed. When we woke up the next morning our 5'ver was covered with hundreds of ants. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed overnight, so we did not use any of the facilities. The staff was very friendly. The park was very clean. Easy in and out, right on our route. We didn't use their wifi, but it was offered along with cable. We also had a pull through, so it was perfect. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed for one night, nice concrete pad. Very disappointed with connections, were located at the end of the space which was long. We were towing our car and did not want to disconnect. Had to have extensions for all 3 connections. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We had no trouble getting in and out of this campground. We did heed advice from a previous review to go out of the park driveway at an angle.
Our site was at the back of the park so there was no problem with noise from Hwy 59. It was concrete and level but seemed a bit over-priced. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The park has an older section up front with a few young trees, paved roads, & paved sites spaced a tight 12' apart. This section is only suitable for smaller RVs as sites were only 35-40' long. Satellite reception would depend on your site but they also have suitable cable TV too. The newer section of the park is at the back. They have gravel roads and widely spaced, ~75' long paved sites with no trees. The shorter sites in the old section are cheaper, $32 before discount, & the price goes up to $40 for the longest sites. I only sporadically received the park wifi signal. Verizon had 3 bars with good data signal. Another reviewer thought the turns to get into the park were tight, but I found them very wide and easy to make. Sites only have a picnic table. There is a small pool & nice rec room with a few table games & laundry. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Location is excellent, next to highway but we didn't experience any highway noise that was disturbing. Check-in was easy and courteous, they even escorted us to our site. The sites were large, concrete pads with the hook-ups on the correct (drivers) side and laid out correctly. The park was extremely clean. Cable TV and WIFI were excellent. Could not ask for a better overnight stay. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Our pull-thru site was paved, level and more than long enough for our 40 ft. motorhome and toad. Park is clean and well-maintained. Good Verizon signal. No trees tall enough to block our satellite dish. Cable TV has about two dozen channels. As other reviewers have noted hookups are towards the rear of the sites. This is fine for a trailer or 5th-wheel, but if you have a motorhome with a toad, you'll either need extensions for your hookups or you'll have to unhook your toad. We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area. Chose this park because of the pull-thru sites.
The park is along the US-59 outer loop (a 4 lane divided highway) but there is very little noise from the highway. The access to the park from US-59 requires passing through an uncontrolled intersection so turning off or onto the US-59 posses a slight hazard. The entrance is marked with some scrapes in the payment due to the angle created at the intersection of the highway and entrance road. We were able to avoid scraping by adjusting our angle of entry onto the highway. There are a series of sharp 90 degree turns to enter (3 turns) or exit (5 turns) the park.
The interior roads are a mixture of gravel and paved. The site parking pads are a mixture of concrete or gravel. The newer "Extra Long & Pull-Thru Sites" are better suited for towables as the utility connections are at the rear of the sites. These sites would require MH to disconnect a towed vehicle or use long runs of hose/cable to reach the utility connections as they were at the end of the sites. These sites were long enough for a both an RV and another vehicle. This park understands the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as the sites were generally level. Privacy is established by distance. The newer sites have a lot of distance between the next site but the older sites don't offer much privacy between the sites as they are very close to each other. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. There was an outside table but no fire pit.
There are not any trees in the newer section to interfere with satellite reception. The older section has some trees that could make satellite reception hit and miss depending on site assignment and your dish configuration. There were 22 cable channels available. Only able to get a few broadcast channels.
Didn't get a chance to try the park provided WiFi. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

My husband and I have stayed here for over a month. Very nice lighted park. Extremely quiet at night. Large spaces with plenty of room to walk your dogs. Great laundry room facility. Cement parking spots at nearly every spot. Cable TV also provided. Office staff very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be coming back to stay long term. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Country Hall of Fame museum is nice. Several great places to eat.

We stayed one night, and were very pleased with the park. We had a long, paved, level pull thru site, with clean power and cable TV and nice landscaping. There was a pool, but we didn't use it. Only criticisms were the tight, windy turns, and the cyclone fencing separating the RV park from the neighboring heavy machinery business. A 6 ft. wood fence would have been so much nicer. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Unfortunately, we had to patronize the Carthage hospital ER late at night, but were impressed with the level of care offered. The staff were attentive and efficient, so no need to travel to a larger hospital if you need medical care.

Best restrooms and shower facility I have ever been in. Plentiful laundry facilities at reasonable rates. WiFi strong. Sites long, wide, and well separated. Not much shade. Not much to do in Carthage. We stayed here two days and took a day trip to Jefferson, TX, which is one of the cutest towns I've ever seen. Rate reflects Good Sam. I would stay here again for one night if I was passing thru. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

The park more than met our needs. We have 3 Newfoundlands and we had plenty of dog walking space. We had a big rig site with a concrete pad. Not much going on in Carthage other than the TX Country Music Hall of Fame/Tex Ritter Museum, which was excellent. Spent 2 nights there on our way to Houston. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall it is a good campground. Easy in and out. We have stayed here spring and fall as we travel through. This is about our 5th time. The price seems to be rather high. $36 something. That was after Good Sam discount. Cable tv is minimal. This trip we also have a car with us and was charged $2.00 even though it is parked on our site with the trailer and truck. 27 yrs. of being a full timer and this is only the second time we have been charged for a second vehicle. I told the very nice polite young man behind the counter to tell the boss that this is not a $40.00 per site campground. And our car is not taking up any extra space and that next fall we will go on down the road to a different place. BTW the park is almost totally empty, next fall there will be at least one less than otherwise could be. We camped at Carthage RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
