Great little gem of a park! It is hidden away inside the city park. There are 5 spaces with water and 50 amp electricity. It is $15 per night. The sites are level. You can tell they have been there for a long time, but still a great place for an overnight stay. I think you can only stay 3 nights max. You deposit your money in a container. We never saw anyone pick it up, but we were there on a weekend. It is first come, first serve. All the sites were back in. We will definitely stay there again if passing through that area. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped while passing through to our destination and needed an overnight spot to rest. Self pay, felt safe and some lighting from the park area. Good 50 amp electrical connections. Kids had a blast using the older playground in the morning. It's older but city seems welcoming to RVers. Back in grass sites were fairly level and had picnic tables. Rating is because site is basic but for $15 and electricity you can't beat. If you are an RV resort type person you will want to pass.......but if you don't mind it will work for you. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lovely park with lighted concrete sidewalk all around the small fishing lake. It was very quiet with gentle breeze all afternoon. There is a drop box for the $15 fee. Dumpster on road as you leave. No wifi, but good cell. No dump. We would defiantly stop here again. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Nice little city park with 4 or 5 sites on a first come first serve basis. Cannot make reservations. Self pay, make out a check and stick it in the metal box. We were only campers there. Right beside the rv spaces are the baseball diamonds. They had a game that night and so glad we didn't have an emergency because cars would have blocked us from being able to leave the park! But the park is pretty, they have a duck pond with a paved walk way around it just down the hill from the rv sites. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is hard to find. It was on Commerce street. There is a metal arch over the entrance to Fair Park. The camping area is to the right! The water hook up is in the grassy area under a utility cover!

Exactly what we need, a clean, quiet, safe place to spend the night. Pretty lake with a nice walking path. Five sites with 30/50 amp and water on asphalt. Plenty of room for our 45' motorhome and tow car. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for one night on our way from Dallas/Ft. Worth area to Colorado. Very nice city park. We walked the path around the small lake before heading out in the morning. There are 4 or 5 sites essentially in a parking lot. Power worked good. We were here so short a time that we didn't even connect the water. There were two other RVs here when we arrived about 12:30a on a Thu night/Fri a.m. Excellent for a stopover night. Would be OK for a couple of nights if you have reason to be in the area. Very quiet. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here a few years ago and found it a decent place for a short stay, so we decided to use it again as an overnight on our way west. One change since we were here last is they have 50amp power now! There are five sites, and it looks like four of them are fully functional. Electric and water only - no sewer hook-up, and I don't think there's a dump station here. But they have a 3-day maximum so other than having to haul it all with you to the next place, it's not a problem. No shade at sites but nice with grass and picnic tables on concrete platforms. It is part of a city park, which is very nice with small lake and paved path around it. Evidently good for fishing! We would definitely stay here again if on the route. Easy entry from the 287, turning north onto Commerce, and straight into Fair Park (watch the dip in intersection). Turn right before you get to the building in front of you - the sites are all the way over on the right (look for the picnic tables, between ball park and the lake). The sites are fairly close together, but you are likely to be the only camper here, so no problem! We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Coming into town on 287 turn north on Commerce. You'll see the entrance to the city park; go through the gate, bear to the right, go to the end and you'll see the RV sites. Sites aren't huge but we had space for our rig, car and both slides with no problem. 4 of the 5 sites had working electricity and water (the water faucets looked a little scary and we used our own water), and all had nice picnic tables on concrete slabs. Clean and well maintained - no trash laying around and grass was cut. No sewer hookup or dump station or the rating would be higher. Close to a very pretty little lake with lighted walking trails circling the lake - nice place to walk or sit out had the weather been cooler. Quiet except for the occasional train whistle. Good for a night or two. Rate is $15 on the honor system. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

This park is located in a sports complex, there are walking paths, several restaurants to choose from nearby. Sites are a bit snug...we were here alone but had there been other campers it would have been close quarters. Two of the five sites were out of order, no shade but hard to beat for an overnight stay. Water and 30 amp electric only. Show up with empty tanks! We would stay here again. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Nothing fancy, and yes, only 2 out of the 5 sites looked to have functioning hook-ups, and only 30 amps and no sewer or dump station. But all that said, we were the only ones there (except for one night, and our neighbors were a couple sites away), and we enjoyed our two-night stay! The "campground" is way over to the right when you go through the main entrance to Fair Park (the other entrance, closer to the campground part, was under construction when we were there). And it is only steps away from their pretty little lake that you can walk around. It's a nice and popular park. My husband really liked the BBQ ribs at Jaksons. We both liked the Golden Chick and DQ! There's a WalMart in town too. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Easy to find, located in a nice City Park complete with lake, fishing access, nice picnic area and even some local history. There are five back-in sites as others have indicated. It's hard to open the water value without the use of a tool to pry open. Other than that, no frills: but a great, quiet rest stop for an over night visit. Would definitely stay here again. Think the fee is a bit excessive for the area, the former $10 fee was more in keeping with this city park. Can tell no one has paid much attention to cleaning up the area for quite some time. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

This is a 5 site campground and good for a night's stay. All sites are back in and payment is on the honor system during the nights and weekends. The park is quiet, well lit, and offers a paved walk around the pond/lake. If you travel with pets this walk makes for a good exercise loop. We would camp here again. There is no sewer or septic on site. There are no rest rooms, but I had to check no for this review to go through. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Motorhome.

Nice, clean park near a baseball field. Plenty of room to back your rig. Park has a nice lake to stroll around. Could be warm in summer as there were no shade trees. Excellent, safe overnight stop. We would stay here again. We camped at Childress City Fair Park in a Fifth Wheel.
