32 Parks near Comfort, Texas
Apr 2016 - $30.00
This RV park is old therefore the roads and sites are very narrow and it is not intended for big rigs. We strongly would suggest that big motorhomes search for another park to stay overnight. We pulled in around 5 pm, there was no staff on site, friendly staff on the phone but we had to drop our cash through a drop box in the door and find a spot to park ourselves. We had unhook our tow because the roads and sites are very narrow. There are curbs on each side of the sites which makes it difficult to pull in to park. We had to unhook our tow in order to get into our site. The park appears perfect for Class Cs and smaller trailers, but not a good place for Class As and 45 footers. We will not stay here again. - travelingpeople
Mar 2016 - $30.00
Maintenance and cleanliness by the current staff was exceptional. residents and transients were friendly alike. Access to the park easy off I -10. Utilities good. Short term stay pull throughs close together, backins roomier. If a back in is available, consider it. Highway noise and burrs were not a problem for us. - SDCampowneroperator
Sep 2015 - $30.00
Very nice adult park. Very friendly and great service. Clean bathrooms & showers. Good wifi, cable, & laundry. Nice landscaping. Workers are constantly cleaning and/or improving grounds. Easy on/off highway. We were originally staying only 2 nights. Ended up staying about 10 days. Penny (owner) gave us the weekly rate ($175) when we decided to stay. Very nice. Bottom line, this is a very nice adult park that is operated extremely well. Absolutely will return. We stayed in a fifth wheel. - Lunchy
May 2016 - $36.00
Nice park near San Antonio area. Views are amazing and has rustic feeling. Lots of full timers and a section is for overnighters. Had a good time. Didn't use the pool and other facilities. Recommended. - jjwelsh
Feb 2016 - $36.00
This is no longer a Passport America nor a Good Sam Park. The best sites are actually on "top of the hill". If you do not get one of these sites, I would not stay, because the "second tier" sites are among the long term residents below the top. The campground is near the interstate, so there is considerable road noise. The roads and sites are gravel and mostly level. I had no trouble leveling my rig. The staff were quite friendly and will escort you to your site. This is an older park and needs some tender loving care; some of the resident sites need to be cleaned of litter. We stayed here in a 39 foot fifth wheel and probably would stay here again, but only overnight. - Mike1987
Sep 2015 - $35.00
Another stopover place just passing through. Pretty little park, great location, wifi spotty at best...site not very level but good spot. Friendly office staff and friendly neighbors. - TXTread
Aug 2016 - $20.00
We stayed one night. The traffic noise was terrible. The park was nearly empty, now I know why. The grass between the sites was dead and full of stickers. We were charged $20 even though the PPA shows the price as $17.50.
We called ahead since we were arriving at around 5 pm. The campground was gated so we have to push the call button to open the gate. The manager opened the gate remotely. As I pulled forward to go thru the gate it started to close. The closing gate hit the front of my RV. The next day I waited until the office opened at 9 am. I talked to the manager about the damage. She said she would have to have the OWNER look at the damage. I waited for an hour but the owner did not show up.
WE would not stay here AGAIN. - 4jim
Apr 2016 - $20.00
This campground would be good for an overnighter, but it's 5 miles from town and 10 miles from I-10. We stayed two nights. The site we had (#2) was very unlevel, but sites closer to the road look much better. They advertise cable TV, but there are limited channels. The laundry room is very narrow, but it does have a table for folding clothes, an iron, and a chair for you to sit on while you wait for your clothes to get done. There are 6 washers ($1.50) and 8 dryers ($1.50). Everyone at the campground was very nice. - mrpeepers
Mar 2016 - $10.00
A nice resort park that was undergoing major updates to their facilities. They were adding a number of rental cabins. The sites are adequate in size and the park was quiet. Well outside Kerrville, it is still an easy drive. A locked automatic gate provides security and the combination is provided when you check in. Cable is actually 12 stations provided by Dish network. WiFi worked well at our site. We would stay here again. - Lakewood90
Oct 2016 - $40.00
Over the last four years I have stayed at between 35 and 40 KOA's, usually for the ease of location. Some Good, Some Bad, most just Average and then on occasion I find a very good one. Fredricksburg is one of them. The staff here is the best I have ever had at a KOA. The park is very clean. The road and site are rock but they have been are very good. The sites are a little tight and you take your time on a couple of turns but I have a 40 foot and I tow and have no problem. The large KOA sign was knocked down in a wind storm and they are in process of replacing so I suggest you call first as my GPS did not take their address and I had to find a place to turn around.
I go through this town and will now make this my place. It is about six miles out of town so you need a car or there is good cab service. - kegmaster
Jul 2016 - $84.00
This is a nice KOA with large level sites and some large shade trees. The sites are long and wide and gravel. Normally a staff member guides you into your site and offers some assistance. This time the guide drove through the site and was gone before I was out of the truck. Not sure what is going on. We have stayed here many times and have enjoyed it very much. Now they have an electric gate that is very narrow and problematic in operation. This time we had our two 13 year old grandkids with us. I had made reservations on my cell phone and apparently misunderstood when he quoted the rates. On check in I was shocked: $15.00 PER NIGHT PER CHILD! Two nights: $168.00 total.
Everything works well, but there seemed to be more patches than repairs.
My site was long enough but not entirely usable due to slides conflicting with multiple utility pedestals. - elvato
Jun 2016 - $44.00
Nice clean park, VERY EASY in and out of our site (C01). Easily able to keep van hooked up with 37'. Great pet and walking area, very well kept. Loved the rooster alarm clock.... - 7 on the road
May 2016 - $55.00
Nice park, pretty close to San Antonio but in a small town with its own life. Close to I-10 and close to all amenities. Registration staff are very helpful and friendly. Did not use much of the amenities. - Debie Lanstrom
Mar 2016 - $36.00
Not what I call a resort. Roads are gravel and pretty level. Good power and water pressure. Little high in price but OK. No grass at our area of the park. Bathrooms were pretty good. I would stay again if I could not find something cheaper. - neilontheroad
Feb 2016 - $31.00
Rally rate. Park is in need of road repair, bathroom clean up, and updating. Ants everywhere, with gravel and is very sandy. It is winter so no grass. There are many full time, trailers owners who drive very, very fast on the street between rows of our coaches, throwing gravel every where: could chip our windshields. Loud I-10 highway road noise. But this park is a short driving distance to shopping, a historical town and many interesting day trips in the area. Many sites are close, so check out the site before you park. - Oooooooo
Jul 2016 - $27.00
Stayed overnight as we passed through. Easy access from I 10. County road passed by close to our site so we had some road noise. Most of the sites in our section were mostly shaded. Large pull through sites are level gravel or blacktop. Full hookup, good water pressure. - Bullrider
Jun 2016 - $25.00
This is a muni gov operated city park on a great location of the Guadalupe River. Kind of a hidden gem. We like #215 for our Scamp 19.
Limited WiFi, no cable but TV from San Antonio and AT&T LTE for your own hotspot. - Bobnjudy
Mar 2016 - $19.00
We stayed in Sycamore loop, the 50 amp sites. Road noise minimum. Paved interior roads and sites. Covered picnic table. Water and Electric on passenger side of rig, but easy to plug in. Very close to the Guadalupe River. Easy 5 mile drive to I10. We stayed in a motor home. No WIFI or cable. - runamuka
Aug 2016 - $35.00
We have stayed at several parks around the Fredericksburg area and really liked the serenity of this park. Utilities worked well including cable and wifi. Site layout was was strange with RV's parked end to end. But the park has been around for a pretty long time. Having a trash can at each site was a first for us and a nice touch! Lots of space between sites side to side so you really didn't feel trapped. Only minor issue is that hitching up and unhitching could be tough if the park is full and street is a little narrow. Look at website site layout. Value for price was exceptional we thought. Definitely will be back! - wakincowboy
Jul 2016 - $31.00
We enjoyed the show put on by the planes taking off. Very quiet in the evening. Great place to walk and also has a nature trail. Very close to Fredericksburg and all it has to offer. Not too far from a scenic drive down hwy 16 south of Kerrville. - Lagni
Jun 2016 - $35.00
We stayed here because it is just south of Fredericksburg, and we wanted to spend a few days here. Also, the park is in a city park, which has lots of places to walk. There is also a city pool and a golf course (extra $), which we did not use. It is pleasant in the park, and quiet. - Chiango
Oct 2016 - $66.00
Nothing here worth such a high cost. Pool area nice but in mid October too cool to use. Hot tub didn't work. Weak WiFi. Only 30% of park is constructed and open as of our stay. Nearest restroom and shower a 3-4 minute walk. No shade on hot side of RV. Nice dog park but clear on other side of park. Nothing special about this park. Would not stay here again. - Satisfying Retirement
Feb 2016 - $35.00
Electric & Sewer good, Water @ 50psi. Wi-Fi was ok but not real strong. AT&T Cell Phone signal was weak but usable. Verizon 4G LTE Air Card was very good. Cable is available. Sites are good and mainly level with plenty of room between. Roads and sites are mainly dirt with light pea gravel. Restrooms very good. Clean and in good condition. Laundry was a bit cramped but I didn't use it. Few long term tenants. DirecTV Satellite worked well. Nothing to block the access even with the few trees. Payment was made with credit card. The management was nice and friendly. Dumpsters were sometimes hard to get to. Roads were dusty when entering and leaving. I would stay here again when in the area. - TXBobcat
Feb 2016 - $38.00
This was our first stay here. We stayed here as this is where our event (2016 Texas Sweetheart Rally) was being held.
We stayed in site 34 which is a buddy site and it was great! All the sites were 25 to 30 feet in width. All sites were nice and deep (60 to 75 feet or so).
We used their Mocking Bird Hall for our event. The room worked well for us, albeit a but loud (need more sound baffling). We used the kitchen in the hall and it was great and real handy for us.
The restrooms between halls was modern and very clean.
I never went into it, but I was told the bath house was very nice.
I got to go into a cabin/cottage as a friend was checking one out for a possible stay. The units were very spacious, well stocked with everything you'd need except food and clothing. They were very clean as well. I bit $$ at $160 to $180 per night or so, but divided by the number of people they can sleep - not bad I guess.
The office has a very large and very well stocked camp store and the staff was very friendly and very accommodating to our group.
While this CG is 10 miles east of Fredericksburg, it was no big deal at all to go into town. We'd stay here again! - jbeletti
Jun 2016 - $31.00
We had a great weekend stay at Cascade Caverns & RV Park. If you're traveling by RV, it's a great stop a tad west of San Antonio, a few miles off I-10. It's fairly easy to get to, and very quiet - unlike other RV parks along highways. The park itself offered wide slots with 20/30/50 AMP service. They have a good wifi signal throughout the park, but as with most campground and hotel wireless, it's pretty slow at 2Mbps. (Verizon LTE was 4-8Mpbs). Bathrooms were clean, staff was great.
The cave a very nice - one of the few caves we've visited that was 'alive', with enough water to keep the formations growing. As with most caves, it's great for a hot summer day to step down into the cool depths. - Red Wolf
Apr 2016 - $31.00
The park is off the main highways, but that's the beauty of this place as it's very quiet and well-treed, with mature live oak trees. Just be careful driving in or out of the place early morning or at dusk when the deer are wandering on the access road. The bathhouse and showers are clean, large and fully tiled. The laundry is big and bright with plenty of good machines. We picked our own site, so scout around the park a bit first as some sites are more level than others. - Freddie and Alvin
Nov 2015 - $31.00
Wonderful campground that's just a couple of miles from town & Walmart but in peace and quiet. The deer are amazing. We saw 10 just driving to our spot. The campground was a bit muddy, but this was during the big rains that closed many local campgrounds. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms with good showers. Wifi was good. Got quite a few channels on the antenna including the major channels. Nice hiking adventures possible on the large property. - J and C
