32 Parks near Comfort, Texas
Nov 2016 - $30.00
Super nice facility and very helpful staff. Park is spotless, and WiFi excellent. Good over-the-air tv reception, and a Love's Truck Center is a very short distance away. Close to interstate - easy on and off - but no road noise at all in the park. Would happily stay here again - highly recommended. - ziaptrn
Apr 2016 - $30.00
This RV park is old therefore the roads and sites are very narrow and it is not intended for big rigs. We strongly would suggest that big motorhomes search for another park to stay overnight. We pulled in around 5 pm, there was no staff on site, friendly staff on the phone but we had to drop our cash through a drop box in the door and find a spot to park ourselves. We had unhook our tow because the roads and sites are very narrow. There are curbs on each side of the sites which makes it difficult to pull in to park. We had to unhook our tow in order to get into our site. The park appears perfect for Class Cs and smaller trailers, but not a good place for Class As and 45 footers. We will not stay here again. - travelingpeople
Mar 2016 - $30.00
Maintenance and cleanliness by the current staff was exceptional. residents and transients were friendly alike. Access to the park easy off I -10. Utilities good. Short term stay pull throughs close together, backins roomier. If a back in is available, consider it. Highway noise and burrs were not a problem for us. - SDCampowneroperator
Dec 2016 - $36.00
Conveniently located off highway 10 just north of San Antonio just past the town. One big hill so carefull to have good power. Expensive for what it is. Easy pull thru, one way navigation thru the hills to get in and out. Must be difficult in cold, frozen weather with the hills. Friendly staff and conveniently located off 10 but we were stranded due to vehicle failure, would not recommend due to expense for value. Wifi only available in club house or near, Verizon good and local tv channels good. Wide open ski so good dish coverage. - FrancisandRenee
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Nice park, but not easy to get into. No room to pull over while registering. Very steep and curvy hill getting to the site. Friendly staff. Park was recently sold, so routine maintenance was not being done. Showers were in a fairly new building, but you had to walk through a rec room and kitchen area to get to them. Navigating when leaving the park was difficult, as there were curbs along each site and no way to get out of the site, unless you run over them. Will not return to this campground. - Diplomat 07
May 2016 - $36.00
Nice park near San Antonio area. Views are amazing and has rustic feeling. Lots of full timers and a section is for overnighters. Had a good time. Didn't use the pool and other facilities. Recommended. - jjwelsh
Oct 2016 - $20.00
Called ahead due to arriving on a Sunday. We we're given the gate combination and told to call back upon arrival. Outstanding customer service. Site was fairly level with good 50 amp electric and water pressure. Goat heads are everywhere so if you are walking a pet watch out. A little way out of town but worth the drive. A little road noise but nothing really bad. Good 2-bars of 4g Verizon service and no problem getting a DTV signal. Thanks y'all for another good stay. We'll be back. - StarlifterFE
Aug 2016 - $20.00
We stayed one night. The traffic noise was terrible. The park was nearly empty, now I know why. The grass between the sites was dead and full of stickers. We were charged $20 even though the PPA shows the price as $17.50.
We called ahead since we were arriving at around 5 pm. The campground was gated so we have to push the call button to open the gate. The manager opened the gate remotely. As I pulled forward to go thru the gate it started to close. The closing gate hit the front of my RV. The next day I waited until the office opened at 9 am. I talked to the manager about the damage. She said she would have to have the OWNER look at the damage. I waited for an hour but the owner did not show up.
WE would not stay here AGAIN. - 4jim
Apr 2016 - $20.00
This campground would be good for an overnighter, but it's 5 miles from town and 10 miles from I-10. We stayed two nights. The site we had (#2) was very unlevel, but sites closer to the road look much better. They advertise cable TV, but there are limited channels. The laundry room is very narrow, but it does have a table for folding clothes, an iron, and a chair for you to sit on while you wait for your clothes to get done. There are 6 washers ($1.50) and 8 dryers ($1.50). Everyone at the campground was very nice. - mrpeepers
Oct 2016 - $45.00
We loved this RV park. It was very well maintained and operated. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of trees. They ARE strict about keeping pets on a leash and picking up after them. Personally I appreciate that. It's also a very quiet park. It's so peaceful that instead of staying four nights, we stayed a week. We will definitely go back! - di0215
Oct 2016 - $37.00
My wife and I decided to travel to Fredericksburg for a 4 day trip. We must say, the park was excellent, as were the owners. They made us feel at home. We really was surprised at the overall customer service being so great. We would definitely stay here again, and SOON!! Love this park. - TXRVKing2013
Oct 2016 - $40.00
Over the last four years I have stayed at between 35 and 40 KOA's, usually for the ease of location. Some Good, Some Bad, most just Average and then on occasion I find a very good one. Fredricksburg is one of them. The staff here is the best I have ever had at a KOA. The park is very clean. The road and site are rock but they have been are very good. The sites are a little tight and you take your time on a couple of turns but I have a 40 foot and I tow and have no problem. The large KOA sign was knocked down in a wind storm and they are in process of replacing so I suggest you call first as my GPS did not take their address and I had to find a place to turn around.
I go through this town and will now make this my place. It is about six miles out of town so you need a car or there is good cab service. - kegmaster
Jan 2017 - $43.00
A December comment said wireless and cable were terrible. They overrated it. It is worse than terrible. The office looks at their equipment in the office and it says it is OK, but obviously they have NEVER actually tried it. They tried to tell me this is a new system and should work really well. HA - what a joke. Their TV handout says they have about 24 cable channels, but when I scan for channels, I come up with 12, most of which are terrible quality and none good. But if you don't need wireless or cable (there are 11 OTA channels available), it is a nice place. Not spacious, but OK. Maybe overpriced. Their website quotes one price, but it was a little lower at the front desk. - Daveyjo
Dec 2016 - $30.00
Just an ok park the sites were close together. It has a great rally hall. There are a lot of full timers. Had to pull table from another site. Not reallly enough space for tow. The people were very nice. - Gmann
Dec 2016 - $41.00
The WiFi really stinks. Slow is not the word for it.
Cable TV is really bad. - TXiceman1
Jul 2016 - $27.00
Stayed overnight as we passed through. Easy access from I 10. County road passed by close to our site so we had some road noise. Most of the sites in our section were mostly shaded. Large pull through sites are level gravel or blacktop. Full hookup, good water pressure. - Bullrider
Jun 2016 - $25.00
This is a muni gov operated city park on a great location of the Guadalupe River. Kind of a hidden gem. We like #215 for our Scamp 19.
Limited WiFi, no cable but TV from San Antonio and AT&T LTE for your own hotspot. - Bobnjudy
Mar 2016 - $19.00
We stayed in Sycamore loop, the 50 amp sites. Road noise minimum. Paved interior roads and sites. Covered picnic table. Water and Electric on passenger side of rig, but easy to plug in. Very close to the Guadalupe River. Easy 5 mile drive to I10. We stayed in a motor home. No WIFI or cable. - runamuka
Feb 2017 - $40.00
2 nights, 17' Casita trailer - RVs are parked butt to butt, with little space between (unless you're in a big motorhome and pay for a double site). Felt like was probably saying "good night" to the neighbors as well as my partner. There was a very loud party in a trailer several units away. Unrelenting mechanical bass from their music went on well past 11:00 PM. Though Fredericksburg and the Hill Country are delightful, we were glad to leave. - Mango
Jan 2017 - $36.00
nice open area within a very nice park. Has swimming pool, golf, hiking, airport. Some site set up a little strange with campers back to back, utilities on wrong side for one camper and sewage dump on the other. We had a 34 foot rig and were allowed two spaces due to availability. Wifi slow and sporatic. Sites very large compared to commericial campgrounds. Interior roads easy to navigate. - susy1313
Nov 2016 - $36.00
Old city RV park but in good condition. Roomy pull through's but trees can be a problem. - Charlie_72704
Oct 2016 - $66.00
Nothing here worth such a high cost. Pool area nice but in mid October too cool to use. Hot tub didn't work. Weak WiFi. Only 30% of park is constructed and open as of our stay. Nearest restroom and shower a 3-4 minute walk. No shade on hot side of RV. Nice dog park but clear on other side of park. Nothing special about this park. Would not stay here again. - Satisfying Retirement
Feb 2016 - $35.00
Electric & Sewer good, Water @ 50psi. Wi-Fi was ok but not real strong. AT&T Cell Phone signal was weak but usable. Verizon 4G LTE Air Card was very good. Cable is available. Sites are good and mainly level with plenty of room between. Roads and sites are mainly dirt with light pea gravel. Restrooms very good. Clean and in good condition. Laundry was a bit cramped but I didn't use it. Few long term tenants. DirecTV Satellite worked well. Nothing to block the access even with the few trees. Payment was made with credit card. The management was nice and friendly. Dumpsters were sometimes hard to get to. Roads were dusty when entering and leaving. I would stay here again when in the area. - TXBobcat
Feb 2016 - $38.00
This was our first stay here. We stayed here as this is where our event (2016 Texas Sweetheart Rally) was being held.
We stayed in site 34 which is a buddy site and it was great! All the sites were 25 to 30 feet in width. All sites were nice and deep (60 to 75 feet or so).
We used their Mocking Bird Hall for our event. The room worked well for us, albeit a but loud (need more sound baffling). We used the kitchen in the hall and it was great and real handy for us.
The restrooms between halls was modern and very clean.
I never went into it, but I was told the bath house was very nice.
I got to go into a cabin/cottage as a friend was checking one out for a possible stay. The units were very spacious, well stocked with everything you'd need except food and clothing. They were very clean as well. I bit $$ at $160 to $180 per night or so, but divided by the number of people they can sleep - not bad I guess.
The office has a very large and very well stocked camp store and the staff was very friendly and very accommodating to our group.
While this CG is 10 miles east of Fredericksburg, it was no big deal at all to go into town. We'd stay here again! - jbeletti
Nov 2016 - $32.00
Not the easiest for big rigs to get to. Trees kept hitting the antenna on the roof. Small winding road in. Several sites had trees in the middle so they were unusable for big rigs. But it was remote and quiet. Clean campground, friendly staff, and long pull thru sites. Full hookups. - DYK 640
Jun 2016 - $31.00
We had a great weekend stay at Cascade Caverns & RV Park. If you're traveling by RV, it's a great stop a tad west of San Antonio, a few miles off I-10. It's fairly easy to get to, and very quiet - unlike other RV parks along highways. The park itself offered wide slots with 20/30/50 AMP service. They have a good wifi signal throughout the park, but as with most campground and hotel wireless, it's pretty slow at 2Mbps. (Verizon LTE was 4-8Mpbs). Bathrooms were clean, staff was great.
The cave a very nice - one of the few caves we've visited that was 'alive', with enough water to keep the formations growing. As with most caves, it's great for a hot summer day to step down into the cool depths. - Red Wolf
Apr 2016 - $31.00
The park is off the main highways, but that's the beauty of this place as it's very quiet and well-treed, with mature live oak trees. Just be careful driving in or out of the place early morning or at dusk when the deer are wandering on the access road. The bathhouse and showers are clean, large and fully tiled. The laundry is big and bright with plenty of good machines. We picked our own site, so scout around the park a bit first as some sites are more level than others. - Freddie and Alvin
Nov 2016 - $15.00
Very friendly and helpful staffer in the office. Made registration quick and easy. We had a nice shady site but leaves are falling in Texas and wish we had slide covers because we had lots of wet leaves that needed to be cleaned off! But that being said this is a nicely cared for and very friendly park. It is a mixture of full timers in mobile homes that take lots of pride in their spaces. And the rv section was very nice and neat. Good electric but too much water pressure-had to use the reducer. There were some low hanging branches and spouse mentioned it to the maintenance fellows and they offered to cut them down, but we opted to back out of our pull through space. We will definitely stay here again. - Rick & Karen
