1 RV Park near Cornudas, Texas
Mar 2018 - $35.00
RV folks - Beware This place also goes by the name Cornudas Cafe, Motel and RV Park. We didn't eat at the cafe. You couldn't have paid us to eat there, judging from the looks of the place. The "motel" building is crumbling. The RV park consists of 6 sites with "full hookup". We were desparate for a place to stay for 2 nights somewhere between Carlsbad and El Paso. Since there were no other options, we decided to stay for 2 nights and thanked God that our motorhome is self-contained. Of the 6 sites, only 2 had the proper ground orientation on the power connections. We couldn't park on one of those 2 sites because it was mostly blocked off by a large prickly pear cactus. The only usable site was in front of the "restrooms" - 2 outhouses which collected sewage in 5 gallon buckets. There was a water hookup but signs saying that the water was unpotable. We had to press the owner to provide us with a gallon of water from the store in the cafe. There are several buildings that may have people living in them - we were unsure. Most of the buildings on the property are in disrepair and the entire place is unsavory. The sad part of this story is that we were charged $35 a night - about the same rate that we have previously paid in other really nice RV parks. We would not recommend this place to anyone! - Mimi-Papa

This isn't in El Paso, it is an hour east but RV Park Reviews does not recognize Cornudas, so I picked the closest city it knows. It is an OK place for a stop over if you are heading either east or west through Texas if you want to avoid the craziness of I-10 around El Paso. Going west to Las Cruces you can go due north from Sierra Blanca and it will take you to Cornudas which is on 180/62. Or you can get on this highway north of El Paso from 375 if you are going east. The park is right on the highway so could not ask for easier access. Not much highway noise because very few vehicles. Site is level, hookups convenient and the wifi excellent. No cell phone service for any carrier. The water at the site is not potable but they will give you drinking water in the cafe. I was told I would be able to drink the water with the filters I have on my RV but did not try as I had water in my holding tank. There was no one else in the park when I was there--no permanent residents. - nanzhere
