Two night stay, stayed due to other reviews. Hit the nail on the head. Good service. Accompanied us to our site, drive through. Nearly full campground. Did make reservations due to snow birds. Used restrooms late at night, still very clean, not perfect, but still clean. Easy to use, hooks, chair, separate shower from sink toilet area, very large. Easy to get to Padre Island or back to Corpus. Would stay here again. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Just correcting information on this site. I arrived on 1/5. They don't take reservations for monthly stays per se, so I had to begin paying for my site the minute there was an opening (December 30).

The amenities listed here show that there is a hot tub and fitness center. I was actually really looking forward to both of those amenities. When we arrived, we found there is no fitness center and we were directed to buy a membership at a local gym. On the other hand, the people are really friendly. The shower building nearest my site is very nice and clean. We are minutes from tons of shopping and restaurants. The wifi actually works at our site and the cable is plug and play. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. Over the summer we refurbished pool and determined it would be best for Colonia del Rey if removed the hot tub due to the constant vandalism which caused the hot tub to be closed for periods of time. In our rec hall area, we do have some fitness equipment however this is an amenity that will be removed from this site and we apologize for any incorrect information that may have been listed. Thank you again for your review.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Showers, laundry, and wifi were good. Campground was flat and good place to ride bicycle and walk dog. Many activities in the park including karaoke, pot luck dinners, weekly breakfast, and card games. People were very friendly. Very quiet without traffic or train. Dog park was very dirty where people did not pick up after their dog and my dog would not use it. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Thank you for your review and for staying with us. We sincerely apologize that the dog area was dirty due to the fact other people that used the area did not pick up after their pets. We do provide doggy bags and a trash can at the dog area for our guest to use so they can pick up after their pets. We are planning on putting some more signage at the pet area to let our guest know they need to pick up after their pets when they use the pet area. Thank you again for your review.

Winter Texan for six years, anxiously waiting year 7. After looking at all RV parks in area (Mathis-Rockport-Aransas pass-Port Aransas-many in Corpus) We decided Colonia del Rey was best suited for our needs. We found the owners to be hands on. The office staff has seen some changes over the years; but has always been pleasant and helpful. Wi-Fi has been a problem but not for lack of trying by the owners to fix the problem. Due to the hiring of a full time lawn service the conditions of the grounds have improved. Many activities are available to everyone, including daily/weekly visitors. Crafts, bingo, game of your choice night, poker, book club, Saturday and Monday morning breakfast, Wednesday night pot luck. (Great cooks in park) Locally there is a plethora of things to do. Local theater groups doing many different plays.Outdoor movies near the harbor bridge. North shore with many places to eat and lots of things to do. The USS Lexington. Aquarium to name a couple. The T heads where you can buy the catch of the day right off the boat. A 10 minute drive from CDR and you find your self on beautiful gulf coast beaches. Great swimming , fishing, and eating. Bird watching, dolphin watching, ferry ride between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass. Never a dull moment when you choose to stay at Colonia del Rey RV park. Very pet friendly (people know your dogs name almost before they know the owner's name). There is a pet area. Very clean laundry and bathrooms. Children playground does need improvement. Brand new swimming pool for this coming fall. Thank you to the owners for the holiday activities and providing us with a good "community" in which to stay for a winter, month,a week, or a day. I have stayed in a 5th wheel and a pull behind always on a perfect size lot with plenty of space for a vehicle. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

How is this park a 10 on Good Sam ratings?!? It is ok, but very tight spacing and noisy if you are close to the main road. I had some safety questions at our location near the main road, but many winter residents seem to be in spaces towards the rear of the park, so they may feel better about their situation. I would rate this as an average+ park, but not among the best I've stayed at for sure. WiFi is also terrible.

There is really very little usable space between locations. Our space very noisy at night! There is an RV wash facility nearby, as well as a good market. WiFi access was horrible...even with 2 networks offered. Park is tightly congested. Bathrooms are ok...this park simply cannot be rated a 10...I disagree with Goid Sam on this! However, it still may very well be the best one in Corpus Christi...relatively speaking! We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Colonia Del Rey for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spaces were a little tight but were level. Staff were helpful and very nice. The pool is small, the wifi lousy, but we survived. During the stay, we drove over (15 min?) to Padre Island Seashore state park and enjoyed the beach, ate on the water in Corpus at the waterfront at Joe's Crab Shack, and walked and watched the birds at the Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Staff were efficient and they and other residents I encountered were friendly. This park is mostly permanent or seasonal RVers. The washrooms were in not bad repair, but were pretty dirty when I went to use them at 6 pm. The WIFI didn't work at all. On one of my devices the server couldn't even be found and on another it was so weak it kept dropping out and I couldn't accomplish anything. It's location is not desirable, with busy road near where they put the transient campers. Not somewhere I'd recommend unless you were desperate. The service was good, the pool needed some repair, the hot tub was not working, the laundry room was in excellent condition and very clean the restrooms were very clean and general landscaping maintenance was well maintained. There are many full timers here where gives the park a look and feel different from many others. Everyone in the park was friendly and helpful. While the weather was not the best during our stay, we were always comfortable at the park. I needed to repair a tire leak and all services and needed tools were within 10 minutes of the park. I would come back here and stay again but I would not put this park in the "must stay here again" category. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The bathrooms were clean, but fairly dated. There are only 6 restrooms/showers for the entire campground, so at times they can fill up. The playground could use significant maintenance (as of 4/15), but we use it pretty extensively anyway. The pool could also use maintenance, and the hot tub is currently broken. The campground is kept very clean. The sites are a mix of gravel and concrete and a wide range of sizes. Some of the small gravel sites looked pretty unbearable to me, and the park appears to stay pretty full, so finding a good site might be a challenge. The park is a mixture of permanent setups, long-term (monthly) tenants, and short-term vacation-type visitors. Prices reflect those variations and are very fair. Our rate was based on a month-long stay and is the monthly rate. We will pay electric in addition to the site fee. We would definitely stay here again. We stayed 2 nights. The personnel in the office were really really nice. Our lot was large and had no trouble parking our 30' Motor Home and our little Ranger pick up truck. We did not use the pool or other recreation amenities but my husband did use the shower a couple times and he says there were very clean and well kept. We enjoyed the area and went driving on the Padre Island Beach. Will come back back. We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Motorhome.

I had a pull-through site near the road, but it was also near the dog park and I appreciated that! I was traveling with a couple of small dogs. The park was clean, quiet and had a few month-to-month campers that kept their spaces looking beautiful! I didn't get around to using the pool, showers or hot-tub; 'too busy going to the beach! The local attractions are too numerous to mention, but you will never run out of things to do and see! We camped at Colonia del Rey RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean. Excellent Wifi. The pool is out of order. Didn't affect us as we don't use pools. It also wasn't very warm. Not many activities so if you come for the season, you might want to get involved in the community. We were in a premium lot, there are regular ones available at a lower cost. Well located near restaurants, shopping and the bridge to Padre Island. Our site was a long concrete pull thru that was level with good utilities and access for satellite dish. Wifi was just OK, we used Verizon hotspot and it worked fine. The staff was both friendly and helpful.
