Mostly long term campers in less than half full campground when we stayed. Good location for visiting Del Rio. Paved interior roads and mostly dirt and grass campsites. Appears to have been prosperous in the past with lots of landscaping, patios and walkways that need some maintenance work. Shaded with many trees in a quiet area away from traffic. Good cable so didn't need to setup satellite dish. Overall a pleasant place to stay. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The nearby Whitehead museum was the highlight of our stay with its amazing collection of Del Rio and south Texas historical artifacts including the grave of the famous Judge Roy Bean " The Law West of the Pecos" who was portrayed by Paul Newman in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" (1972). Definitely a must see if in Del Rio.

Stayed for 2 months during winter. Large site with good services. Owners very friendly & helpful with local information. Lots to see around the area. Many churches and a recycle center. Nice walking areas. Have been coming for 7 years & look forward to relaxing atmosphere. The freight train which is miles away is barely heard a few times each week & the owner has worked with the barking dog owner to a quiet result. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful, quiet park. The owners are super nice and are there to please. We had a huge spot with lots of elbow room. It is in a residential area which I think adds to its quaintness. The "Wash" is a combination of laundry, clubhouse, library and is super nice. We couldn't have asked for better for our needs. I just wish all of our stops had the spacious sites that Hidden Valley has. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park in the city. Yes, it is in a residential area and you need to watch for dangling limbs on the street heading to the campground. The owners live on-site and try to take care of the campground. There are no restrooms or showers. There is a laundry operating on the honor system. My only complaint is the barking dogs from across the street from the campground. Nothing the owners can do about that except notify the homeowners (that don't seem to care). Utilities are laid out a bit strange: electric is in the very back of the site and I had to back way in to connect with a 30 foot electric cable. There is noise from the trains but not too bad. Personally, I prefer trains over road noise. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a not as good as it "appeared" to be. ;-( First, the road into the campground (Bolner) is horrible for an RV - trees and electrical wires that hang down really low that catch on or scratch your coach that you are swerving like mad trying to avoid and hoping like crazy that you don't snag one on your air conditioner! It's also a crazy little neighborhood to navigate in and out of. Then, the park is "cute", but small and not level, so a pain to unhook and back into, especially for just an over-nighter. PA doesn't tell you that it's a "two-night minimum" to get the discount, so paid the full price - which we might as well have gone to another campground then... Wouldn't return here, their picture, looks nicer than it is. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

HiddenValleyRVParkDelRio, owner at Hidden Valley RV Park responded to this review

Thank you Marie for opening this conversation.

I see you stayed with us one night in May, coming in late from your travels. You visited Del Rio just after a terrible storm, and I agree, some wires were hanging low and trees were laden with water and cracked limbs. On behalf of Mother Nature, I do apologize.

There are little neighborhoods as we are proudly located in the Historic South End, surrounded with History as others have mentioned. Good Maps are on our website.

I am sorry you had issues with your site. Sites are 30 to 50' wide x 60 to 100' deep and guests are given the opportunity to choose a site. Had we known, we'd have let you choose another site.

I am sorry that PPA has not caught up with our new pricing; with any discount there is a min 2 night stay. The first night is $20 and the next night is $35, our normal rate for full hookup; City water, sewer, elec, cable and Wifi.

I hope some day you will give Del Rio another chance. Until then, safe travels and God Bless!

We have a large, back-in site that was very private - our own privacy fence. Very quiet park at the end of the street, so no road noise. All utilities were excellent. Water pressure was very high, so do use a pressure regulator. Electric was good - pedestals have 50/30/20 amp. Owner & manager both very pleasant. They have WiFi, but I did not use it. AT&T 4G was excellent. Sites are shaded, which is very nice. Tree limbs trimmed. Cable TV was very good & clear. The Wash House has a lounge area for relaxing on back porch and for rocking and lots of good washers & dryers. The RV park is a bit off the main highway, so we called the park and the owner met us out on the highway & led us in. She and her father started this tradition and it was very much appreciated! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our"2nd home", we have a fifth wheel here going on 2 years. VERY quiet compared to highway 70 parks, as this park located in an established nice neighborhood. The lots are huge, shade trees everywhere, birds, deer, turkey, and again docile and quiet is why we parked a trailer here long term to fish Amistad Reservoir. The owner is helpful and keeps the park quiet. Great water psi, regulator needed. Cable TV, a decent Verizon 4g signal. We highly recommend this park for overnight, a few days, or long term if you prefer not hearing 18 wheelers at 70mph plus. The shade, large lots, and quiet make this in our opinion the best park in Del Rio. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I can't say enough good things about this park. If you're looking for a resort with complete facilities, then this may not be your cup of tea; but if you are self-contained and like a small park in a quiet, rural setting with grass, trees, birds, deer, and personal service, this is the place. We stayed three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. Camp hosts have been making upgrades to the park, such as improved wifi, in the past year. They were incredibly friendly and helpful. The only problem for us was satellite reception among the mature trees; hosts helped us find the one site which would work. My husband inadvertently left behind his self-assembled water filter, and before we even realized it Hostshad emailed us and had the filter disassembled and ready to ship to wherever we asked. When we made our reservation, Kathy made sure to tell us "don't follow Google", giving us specific directions for a big rig to avoid a difficult turn. Just a beautiful experience all around, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this quiet RV park. The management is very friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is right. Since we don't usually need resort type facilities (e.g. swimming pool, game room, etc.) the park suited us perfectly. The lack of a shower restroom house might be an issue for some travelers. However, the laundry room was like a very nice living room with comfortable sofa, game table, large screen TV, videos, books, and even some exercise equipment. Cable TV was available but we did not use it. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We decided we would spend the winter months here in Del Rio TX. We are so glad we did! We checked out all the parks and campgrounds in Del Rio, and decided on Hidden Valley. We love this park! Hidden Valley is not a 'campground', it is an adult RV Park located in the upscale historic section of Del Rio, away from the highway and noise. It took me a while to get use to the quiet! The 10.00 rate is based on our 300.00 monthly rate for a Class C Motor Home. The newly remodeled "Wash" is so cute and homey with a large lounge with comfy sofas, tables, TV, Book and DVD lending library, and exercise equipment. The back room has a large laundry area with 4 washers and dryers, and everything is kept really clean. The park use to be a mobile home park, now converted into an RV park so the lots are really big and spacious. Most have very nice concrete patios and some sites are even fenced in for dogs or privacy. All sites are full hookup and free cable. Free WiFi is available, too. If you need a ride anywhere, there is a gentleman in the park that will take you where ever you want to go, even to the Mexican city just across the boarder for a small fee. The owners are very nice and accommodating. She even met us at Walmart when we first came in and had us follow her to the park. We came for a month, and are now staying for several months! We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

The White Head Museum is less than a mile away, as is a nice winery. There are many good Mexican Restaurants in town, and several very good Texas BBQ places. Walmart, Home Depot, Auto Zone and more is here, and even a small mall with JC Penny as the anchor store. Winter Weather here is fabulous!

Hidden Valley is well hidden in the small town of Del Rio, TX. It is off the beaten path at the end of a road and is a small secluded property. Directions from the owner are important to receive. The park has grass and trees and the spaces vary in size and placement. There are some permanent residents too. It is in a quiet residential setting.

The owner is very particular where you are to park your rig at your spot. She monitors everything very closely and is very hands on. You will also pay for electricity, even for a one night visit.

The laundry room is large and has a number of machines but the prices were a bit steep. $2/washer & $3/dryer but there is no timer on the dryer. The area has a TV, books, games and one can stay and be entertained while you wait for your laundry. But, the area would benefit from a deep cleaning as does the entire park. It is beginning to look a wee bit tired overall.

If you want an economical parking spot, plus a quiet and friendly spot, this might just be the place for you. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very spacious sites - a former mobile home park. Lots of large shade trees and grass (both of which are overdue for a trim), full hook ups and cable, fairly level sites with a bit of gravel, good Verizon reception, clubhouse with comfortable living room area and several washers/dryers. Really friendly, nice owner living on site who is very particular about who stays in the park. Very quiet, dark at night, tucked away at the far end of a quiet neighborhood bordering a farm. Deer and lots of birds. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at the Hidden Valley RV Park for seven days during January 2016. This park offers a positive experience of true serenity with cleanliness of the park, homeyness of "The Wash" (laundry room designed as a family room), giving out information about attractions in the local community, and wildlife viewing in nearby fields. The park hostess was very cordial, hospitable and helpful. The discount rate for Passport America members was a welcome bonus. There are no public toilet or shower amenities here, so guests must be able and willing to use facilities in their own self-contained RV. Despite this minor inconvenience, we give this RV Park maximum stars and highest recommendation. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Del Rio and Laughlin AFB area.
