Mostly long term campers in less than half full campground when we stayed. Good location for visiting Del Rio. Paved interior roads and mostly dirt and grass campsites. Appears to have been prosperous in the past with lots of landscaping, patios and walkways that need some maintenance work. Shaded with many trees in a quiet area away from traffic. Good cable so didn't need to setup satellite dish. Overall a pleasant place to stay. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The nearby Whitehead museum was the highlight of our stay with its amazing collection of Del Rio and south Texas historical artifacts including the grave of the famous Judge Roy Bean " The Law West of the Pecos" who was portrayed by Paul Newman in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" (1972). Definitely a must see if in Del Rio.

Overall Rating:

Had a nice site surrounded by a wooden fence which we were able to close. Good water and electric. A few full time people here among large trees; very shaded. Nice laundry room and community area. Laundry is honor system but expensive. Had to fill out a form and leave a check. Cost me $12 to do a week's laundry. Nowhere to let the dogs loose. I found a neighborhood next door where I was able to walk which made the walk about 2 miles. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice little museums in town; one within walking distance. Also Val Verde winery that we visited. Make sure you head to Memo's Mexican Restaurant - it is the best in town and the chips are fabulous. Went there twice while in town. There is also a walking/biking trail just over the bridge from the restaurant.

Overall Rating:

Very spacious sites - a former mobile home park. Lots of large shade trees and grass (both of which are overdue for a trim), full hook ups and cable, fairly level sites with a bit of gravel, good Verizon reception, clubhouse with comfortable living room area and several washers/dryers. Really friendly, nice owner living on site who is very particular about who stays in the park. Very quiet, dark at night, tucked away at the far end of a quiet neighborhood bordering a farm. Deer and lots of birds. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The city of Del Rio is packed with stores and fast food restaurants - not a destination hot spot by any means. Not far from Amistad Reservoir.

Overall Rating:

Echoing the other reviewers, this park is at the end of a dead end road and the owners live on site. We felt as if we were camping in someone's back yard with lots of trees and no one around! The price can't be beat for a full service RV site, including cable tv. No other amenities, but we loved it. We would definitely come here again if in the area. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were met when we pulled in. The people were very friendly. The sites are level. It is an old mobile home park and there are still some on site and they appear to be well maintained. Although we did not use some of the facilities, we did notice a laundry facility, a TV room, and work out devices. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

PA Rate. Full hookups and good Wi-Fi and cable TV. The front sites are soft, first set of leveling blocks disappeared and had to be dug out. Septic and water systems have recently been upgraded and the backfill wasn't done properly. Owners met us on the way into the CG and escorted us to the site. Very friendly and helpful. Once this was a MH park, now it is an RV park. Streets are paved and some sites have concrete patios. All the trash is gone and this is a pleasant stop. We spent several days here and shared Thanksgiving with other Rvers in the CG. Laundry is way expensive and we couldn't find restrooms or showers. Amistead NRA is 5 miles from Del Rio but there aren't many trails accessible without a boat to cruise the lake/reservoir. The sites are large, some are separated by wood fencing, plenty of shade and far enough from the highways to be fairly quiet. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Points lost were for no table and no fire ring. Sites are long and huge. Utility hookup may be a little challenging depending on your rig and site. Owner is very accommodating and eager to make your stay happy. A little off the the beaten path, but a pleasant drive through town to get here. Would return without hesitation. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a park that is changing over from mobile homes to RV's and has retained the large size lots. RV's are placed in such a manner as to allow a great deal of space to enjoy your camping experience. The park owners are friendly and work hard to make each visitor feel special. The Wi-Fi has been upgraded and work VERY well. Though the wash house is well equipped with 3 washers and 2 dryers, there is also space for a small get together. There are no bathrooms available for guests in this area though. The park is pet friendly with lots of area to walk and visit with your neighbors. My only complaint being a non smoker I found that a couple of other campers here had no respect for the air that others breath, there is no smoking inside buildings but they still polluted the outside meeting areas, but I guess you can't have everything, we just stayed away when they were smoking. This is still a park I would recommend and will visit again as our winter Texan home away from home. This was our 3rd year in Del Rio and our 2nd year here in this park. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I called from town and a lady met me and led me in. Good thing as it's at the end of a dead end road. Very quiet, lots of permanent RVs. Back in, gravel sites with cement slabs are very long and private with fences between. No toilets or showers. WIFI was good, phone bars were minimal. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Hidden Valley RV Park in a Truck Camper.
