Check-in was easy and the staff friendly. Roads are well marked and in good shape. Many sites are not level, so bring your blocks! Sites in our loop were spacious and ranged from fun sun to full shade. Aluminum picnic tables were very nice and had fire rings and lantern poles. Utility connections were convenient and worked well.

Campground was quiet and had lots of wildlife to watch including deer, rabbits, and roadrunners. There are hiking trails, fishing piers, and a swim cove, but be ready for some elevation change. There is an onsite marina with rentals.

There is wifi at the restrooms, but it does not reach to all the campsites. We did get Verizon cell coverage as well as 10 OTA TV stations.

Overall a nice place and we will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed a visit to the nearby Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, and also renting a boat from Eisenhower Yacht Club and spending the day on the lake.

Our visit to Eisenhower State Park was our very first experience at any State Park. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the park. Our site had full hook ups which I understand now is unusual for a state park. We loved the swimming area, the caves and the rock climbing. The trees around our site were beautiful as well. The sites are clean and spacious with a the fire pit and picnic table. We enjoyed time around the fire with very friendly Texans the first weeks and fell in love with Texas State Parks.  My nine and seven-year-old enjoyed the Junior Ranger program and earned their first badges. The Eisenhower State Park book is different from other Texas SP Junior Ranger program books. It focuses on General Dwight D Eisenhower. We enjoyed learning about his life and legacy. We loved every minute of our 2 week stay. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Motorhome.

A large State Park with many full service campsites for RVs and even more with only electricity and water. These latter campsites actually offer some of the larger spaces with some of the best views. There are many hiking trails, fishing areas, and bike paths. The Park is home to a very large Marina, which offers a good many additional amenities. We found the park to be clean and the Park staff friendly. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park. We stayed in the Bois D Arc loop which is all full hookups. The spots are spacious. Our spot was fairly level but there are a lot of un-level spots at this park so come prepared with extra blocks and things to level your camper. The park is a little rustic with brush. Picnic tables are aluminum and very nice. Lots of good shade. Park hosts and rangers were very friendly. Great weekend getaway from Dallas. The lake is beautiful but can't be seen from campsites. If you are going here, look at the alternate directions on the state park website. The main road to the park is closed due to road damage from the spring floods. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Walmart at the next exit as well as lots of fast food restaurants. That's in Denison. Sherman is a short drive and there is a mall and lots of shopping. We ate at Fullbellies in downtown Sherman and enjoyed it.

We chose this park to visit friends from Denison. What a great find. I love the Texas State Park system that allows you to choose a spot from what's available when you pull in even with a reservation. The park was virtually empty so got a great spot with lots of trees for shade. Had 50 amp service, water, picnic table on slab, fire pit and restroom facilities. All the water features were closed because of flooding but that didn't detract from our visit at all. Would highly recommend this park. Verizon MiFi worked best for us at this park. Had 3 bars of 4G for phone. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A typical excellent Texas state park on Lake Texoma. Very easy, courteous check-in with a reservation. Not at all crowded on a hot week day in late August. I had water and electric at my site. The restrooms and showers were clean. I was only there for one night but would stay again if passing that way. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There were fossil ammonites and razor clams visible in the rocks across from the marina because the lake level is down. I didn't see the fossils mentioned in any of the park literature so it was a pleasant surprise.

We stayed at this park on a whim to try and save money from getting an out of state fishing license on Lake Texhoma. We were awesomely surprised. Our first site had ants on it but the park staff quickly relocated us. Our new site was quiet and deep in the piny woods. Fantastic fun for a family. We camped a few nights and had a blast. It also has beautiful views of the lake. They had a little swimming area my kids loved. i saw they had boats for rental but we didn't get to try them. Had fun fishing but didn't catch anything. All in all this was a great place to stay and we will definitely be back. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Tent.

My family and I really enjoyed staying at Eisenhower State Park. We traveled with 2 adults, a toddler, and four teenagers for 4 nights. We arrived on late Friday afternoon and were assigned to campsite 89. The pull through site itself would have been fine but the picnic area was treacherous. It was quite steep and kind of rough terrain. I called the perk office and asked them if we could move because with a toddler, there was no way site 89 was going to work. We moved to site 74 and it was a nice site but we could not get our RV stable enough for our comfort because the site was so unlevel and going downhill. I again called the office, they are extremely friendly and accommodating. We moved our third time to site 63. Although it was one of the smallest site for the camper, we managed and were glad we did! It has a very large picnic/yard area. And you can hit the nature trails directly from the site. After moving campsites three times and after walking through the camping area, there are not many sites that are level. It was obvious that several people had trouble getting their campers level. The nature trails are great! There was some rough terrain a couple of times but overall we all enjoyed them. The restrooms/showers in the Bois D Arc area were okay. They were clean, but there are no shower curtains/doors on the showers. The shower water temperature constantly fluctuated every time a toilet was flushed, nothing we couldn't deal with though. The Park Rangers seemed to have a heavy presence in the area. We saw them driving through at least 5-6 times daily. Beautiful park! Lots of fun! We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first trip to this park and we had a very enjoyable experience. We will return. Our site was not level, but pulling up on blocks took care of that. Even though the park was full, everyone was on good behavior and it was very quiet at night. The sites are well spaced and you're not crammed in on top of each other. Almost all of the sites are shaded and a few in the north section of the park have a slight view of the lake through the trees. I would recommend to stay away from sites 85 thru 89 as they were close to a sewer lift station and the smell was terrible in that area. Besides the nightly rate, you do get charged a daily per person admission fee of $5 each. If you have more than 2 vehicle units (our truck and trailer counted for 2 units) on the site, they also charge you an additional $4 per night for an excess vehicle fee. If your site hasn't been used for a while, the water will have a real bad sulfur smell for a few minutes, but that will clear up after a few gallons of water are run out. The area is hilly with a lot of trees and the hiking trails were great. The park rangers were friendly and they drove through the camping area several times each day. We did see several deer during our stay. Dogs are abundant, but they must be on a leash. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We’ve stayed several times over the past six or so years. We like it because it has full hook-ups (Bois D’Arc Ridge area) and it’s close enough to the Dallas / Fort Worth area for a weekend trip. There are several hiking trails in the park which we’ve explored on previous trips. There is a small swim beach but as others have mentioned it’s quite a hike down the steps to get there. I don’t think we’ve ever been there that we didn’t see any deer. There is a little meadow just as you turn into the Bois D’Arch Ridge area and they are frequently there early in the morning or in the early evening. We’ve also seen them around the campsites. On one previous trip there was a couple deer within ten feet of our travel trailer. During this trip I saw a doe and fawn about two campsites away. They have two fishing docks which we’ve enjoyed using. During the summer months the campgrounds can be fairly crowded, although I don’t think they’ve ever been sold out when I’ve tried to make reservations. This past weekend the campgrounds were fairly empty. As with most of the Texas State parks were built by the CCC, so they are old and recent budget challenges have left them in disrepair. This year the budget situation has improved and I noticed that they had re-surfaced the roads in the campground. There is a yacht club in the park where you can buy bait and which has some boat rentals. The last time I checked the rental prices, they seemed pretty high and I think all they had available was pontoon boats. The nightly camping rate does not include admission to the park. If you don’t have a Texas State Park Pass, you have to pay $5.00 per day for each person 13 or over. By the way, when you buy a Texas State Park Pass, you also get a couple of electronic coupons for one-half off a day (night) of camping. The park has always been clean and the restrooms, while dated, are clean. Many of the sites in the Bois D’Arc Ridge area are not level. Several years ago we had a spot that was so unlevel, we overextended a jack on our old travel trailer. Many of the sites (particularly on the outside of the loops) are long enough for larger rigs. We were in site 82 which was over 100 foot long. They said it was “level” and it was level from front to back, but was not level from side to side. Our automatic leveling system had our right tires off the ground. They are supposed to have Wi-Fi available, but we didn’t use it, so I can’t report on it. We did have one complaint on this trip. There was a burn ban in effect, but it was not posted anywhere. I knew there were burn bans in some of nearby counties, but in the past fires were allowed in the fire rings. After we bought firewood from the park headquarters (again no mention of the burn ban) we were told by a Ranger that fires were only allowed for cooking and had to be extinguished after cooking. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

First time to this Campground. Very organized. We were here over 4th of July and had a real nice time. We stayed in space 23, which had plenty of space, as well as a picnic table and fire ring. Sites all appeared level and the dump station was conveniently loocated. Easy access to self guided nature trail and park rangers were very accessible and helpful. Will definitely stay here again. We overnighted as part of a trip to Oklahoma and Colorado. This a very pretty park with a large lake. The pull through sites were asphalt with picnic table and fire ring. Some sites were not level. The rangers were friendly and helpful, allowing us to choose our site and recommending several local restaurants. There is an excellent swimming area within the park, but requires a short hike and water shoes for protection from the rocks. We would camp here again. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pretty park! Really nice shade trees with plenty of space for our rig, tow, tent and truck. Comes with a nice picnic table and fire ring. Saw a doe the first morning. There were several trails to the lake, or you could drive really close and walk in. Nice big lake, fun to even drive around. Boat rentals were too expensive. Rangers are friendly and pro-active. The tornado storm that hit OK was coming our way and they came around to notify us to watch out for strong winds and rain. If the tornado was heading our way they would use the bull horn to let us know. We were fine that night, but the next day it got a lot worse, so we left. We camped at Eisenhower State Park in a Motorhome.
