Stayed one night the second weekend in April. The site was very level, had a picnic table, fire ring, grill and pole for hanging a light. The site was shady and clean but the bathrooms were not well maintained. We camped at Oak Thicket Park (LCRA) in a Travel Trailer.Undo

We stayed here for access to Round Top Festival Hill (great music). Very pleasant park, great shade, relatively easy set up. Our space wasn't quite level and had small over hanging tree limbs, but great space between camp sites. Lake access really just at the swimming area, unless you want to fish from the overgrown bank. RV spaces are very limited in this area. We looked at Dixie Land and decided to stay here instead...more shade! great restaurant "Oaks" in Warrenton not far away and good breatkfast at Orsak's in Fayetteville. We'd stay here again. We camped at Oak Thicket Park (LCRA) in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

We really like this small park. Its not to far from us on a small lake. There was a dock and everyone was fishing. They were catching bass. The people were friendly. The sites were a little close but it was very shaded. We probably will go again. We camped at Oak Thicket Park (LCRA) in a Tent Trailer.Undo
Date of Stay: June, 2009 - $20.00
This is a very nice, very shaded park but only 20 sites so reservations are necessary. Some of the sites are not very level so choose wisely. There are trails that go down to the lake and 50a and waterfront sites (not really on the water) must be asked for but the rate is the same. I was told that the fishing is very good on this lake due to it being a power plant lake and the water is warm. On the 2nd weekend of the month it is market days in Fayetteville. There is free bluegrass music in the gazebo late in the afternoon in the town square. La Grange is very close and has a state historical site that is worth visiting. We will definitely go back soon.
