1 Park near Fort Bliss Army Post, Texas
Mar 2016 - $20.00
The RV facility at Fort Bliss is off base. In fact it is only about 20 feet from the highway. It is large, about 120 sites. It looks like a large parking lot with posts every 30 feet or so. All the spaces are pull through and fairly flat. The facility is clean as we have come to expect, and appreciate, from military facilities. For us, it was great for a one night stop on route to the next location. It seemed some people did stay there for many weeks or months, though I can't understand why. Reservations are not accepted. We called at 1pm to insure they had room. We arrived at 4pm and got the last spot. - Ncw

The sites were concrete and fairly level, the park was clean and neat, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. All hookups worked fine. Fort Bliss RV Park would have gotten a solid 10 if there was WiFi at our camper and not just the lounge. The lounge was and workout area were fantastic. - Melodycthomas

This is by far the worst campground we've been to for traffic noise. Even near the front of the park, by the office, you can still hear traffic from Highway 54 at all hours, day and night. Our first site was closest to the highway, the last open spot, and even with ear plugs you could hear the traffic at night. We moved near the middle of the park, and while it wasn't as loud, it was still noticeable. Quiet hours end at 5:00 AM so that goes to show the park caters to the long term, active duty residents. The park has a lot of potential, but until the published rules are enforced across the board, it will look like a base housing trailer park. Very few people clean up after their dogs, and the dog walk area, which is the only grass in the park aside from the playground, always has piles around it. Many long term residents have so much stuff around their sites it detracts from what the park can really be. We had one neighbor that would go out every morning at 6:15 to smoke then have over an hour of phone conversations which could be heard from our bedroom. It seems like the long term residents have very little consideration for those passing through.
The sites are very large and level which is the best thing about the park. Utilities worked well, although water pressure fluctuated daily. Bathrooms were clean and laundry was OK except for a couple dryers that got too hot and burned some clothes and a blanket. WiFi is available only in the rec room and didn't allow us to connect once when we were doing laundry. Unless we need a night stopover, we would not return until the rule enforcement starts. - pfogleboch
