Overall Rating:

Gravel pull-thru was longer than it first appeared. Site had a picnic table, good water, sewer and cable and grass. WiFi was excellent. Was offered use of the outside pool which was still uncovered but declined since the temps were in the 30's. Shower house was clean with private rooms but was way too cold inside to use with it being in the 30's outside. Dog park was nice with grass cut very short. Dumpsters were on the opposite side of the access road so many campers were stopping on the way out to drop garbage. Had considerable rain so there a number of puddles to negotiate. One major speed bump which the office warned us about. Incoming road was pot holed but could negotiate around them by using both lanes. Close to freeway but quiet. The leafy tree had dropped all its leaves and the other tree was not dropping anything which was great. Rate was with Good Sam. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here before. A satisfactory pit stop when traversing West Texas. Quieter than one would expect being so close to the interstate. Not fancy, but we like the place. Really nice breakfast at the on site cafe. To our annoyance, main building showers and laundry were out of service, and looked like they had been for some time, based on the faded signs. When we entered the office, towels and gear in hand, office staff apologized, but did not mention that there was a bathhouse at the other end of the park with working showers. Found that out from the park map. Left us wondering if this park was starting to slide. Major facilities out of service, disinterested staff. It would be too bad, as we really like this place. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is an outstanding West Texas RV Park. It is also a very busy RV park and it is rare if you are the only one checking in. I have seen campers turned away so reservations are a good idea. The staff is friendly & efficient. There are many workers in the park, and they do get up early, but otherwise are very quiet. The interior roads are gravel and can be quite dusty. All the reservable sites are pull-thru and there are five up front that exit right onto the entry road, if you need a quick getaway. The sites are gravel and quite level. They have a nice pool and dog park. The park is located east of Ft Stockton on I-10, they are the only thing at that exit, #264. The best thing about this RV park is the on-site Roadrunner Cafe. They have a limited breakfast and dinner menu but the food is great. At $36 it is a very good value. The hook-ups are close together and easily accessed. There is good voltage and water pressure. The cable is very good, but it is analog. The Wi-Fi is also quite good. Fort Stockton is a nice little town. They do have a Walmart and some restaurants, but not much else to do. This is a good overnight stay while traveling I-10. This is one of my favorite campgrounds and I stay here whenever I'm in the area. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Convenient to I-10. Clean restroom with individual shower rooms with toilet, sink and bench. Wifi signal was poor where we were at. Easy pull through sites. Would stay here again for overnight. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very nice RV park; an excellent stay on the long drive through Texas on the I-10. Long, wide, level gravel pull through sites, FHU-30 and 50 amp. Grass in between sites. Great wifi. Cable. Pool. Quiet if ask for a site away from the freeway. Good internal roads for big rigs. EZ on and off the 1-10 freeway. Very good restaurant in the RV park that serves simple, delicious food. We have stayed here before and definitely will stay here again. While they take RV's that drop in, it's better to reserve ahead as this is a popular stop. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is located east of central Fort Stockton and effectively has its own exit off I-10. Prior comments about a gravel road into the park are over blown as it is wide, compacted and level. The park was clean and our site level. The staff was great. The park also features its own "Roadrunner Cafe" restaurant where both dinner and breakfast can be purchased for a nominal price. It is clearly the nicest of the Fort Stockton RV parks we've stayed in. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park. This was only a stopover for us, but we considered an extra day because it was so relaxing. Showers, pool, roads, and restaurant was clean. Cable was great. Did not use the wifi so I can't comment. Employees were incredibly friendly. Lots of birds, and I'm a birder so it was fantastic. Would definitely stop again. Tips for other Campers:

Gas prices are high in West Texas. If you're driving thru Imraan (north of I-10) fill up there. In Ft. Stockton check the Walmart gas station.

Stayed overnight in a 43' motorhome. Easy on-off from I-10. Road leading into CG is unpaved as are interior roads. Easy check-in. Our site was a level, dirt hard rocks surface PTFHU w/cable. Did not have to unhook. Our site faced the incoming road making easy to pull out. All utilities worked fine. A little grass with some shade. It rained that night and the site had some mud. On site pool was nice. Also on site restaurant with breakfast and dinner. Doggie park available was large with doggie bags. When passing through again will use this CG. This was a good overnight place out in the middle of nowhere. The sites are level and gravel. Great wifi and lots of cable channels. Friendly staff. Hookups good. No recycling. Dusty but that's the way it is around here. Laundry was good - $1.25 washers and $2.00 dryers. Cafe on site for breakfast and dinner. We would stay again if passing through the area. Tips for other Campers:

BEWARE: Hwy 285 going north to Carlsbad is terrible to the New Mexico state line. Lots of construction on the road and heavy truck traffic from the oil/gas fields. Road is in the worst shape of any road we have been on anywhere. One very narrow one lane bridge too. Avoid it if you can.

The is a very dry, very windy and very dusty. Guess that is just the norm for this area, however, they are in the middle of a drought. Great digital cable, water pressure and WiFi and the sites are all level. However - there is a bad to all this. Don't know what is in the ground but the quality of the water is very questionable. After several days here, all the silver ware in the dishwasher had turned cloudy and the clothes washer did not get clothes clean. After we left here, it took a considerable amount of CLR to clean the silver ware and washers. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a "Stop Over" campground because Fort Stockton is in the middle of no where. This is the best in the area because we saw the others while being around town. We were there two days and I was amazed at the amount of campers in and out. It is all gravel with a few potholes down the entrance road but, use good sense. Staff was great and courteous - made sure we got a discount - and warned us about the winds - don't leave your awnings out or antenna up if you are going to be away from your camper for awhile. There are long terms located in a separate area, and our site was easy in and out pull thru - good water pressure and the WiFi worked pretty good. There is a great fenced in dog area for the dogs to run free, great swimming pool, and a really cool little resturaunt with great and reasonable food. We would stay here again- We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great 'overnighter' for us. Easy off and on US 10 and access to fuel in town. Picnic table seat was warped, but we didn't mind. The breeze was quite good after a long hot day on the road. Check out their cafe. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
