I would have given this campground a higher rating, unfortunately we arrived after a rain and since the interior roads and sites are bare ground it was nothing but mud. Just hooking up left my shoes with an inch of mud. The rate reflects the "cash" discount. All the utilities work. We cannot speak to the cleanliness of the restrooms or any of the rest of the facility because getting there would have entailed walking through the mud. The campground is close to I-10 and convenient as an overnight stop. Sites are fairly close together. There is no shade or privacy. There appear to be many long term campers who are working in the oil business, though this did not pose a problem. Campground has WiFi that worked fairly well until evening when everyone got home from work and then it slowed to the point of being unusable. We would stay here again as an overnight destination just not after a rain. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is not much to Fort Stockton. They have a municipal statue of a Roadrunner, purportedly one of the biggest around and good for a souvenir photo. Plenty of truck stops and mediocre restaurants. Mainly this town is just a stopover for truckers along I-10 and a jumping off point for tourists to Big Bend Natl. Park. The town seems to be experiencing a bit of a resurgence due to work in the oil fields as new hotels and facilities are being built along the interstate.

A good park for an overnight stay, close to I-10. This park is on a hill as named and can be windy. The hookups were good and park seems to be fairly new. Over the air TV had good reception. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate of $27.00 per night was discounted from their normal $30.00 rate because we paid cash. This was our 2nd time staying in the park and since the last time, it seems that a lot of full time residents have moved in. The park is essentially a gravel parking lot but it has modern hookups and enough space between sites. There is a nice dog pen. We were not able to get connected to Wi-Fi until after 10 PM when I imagine other users had logged off for the night. There is a bit of traffic noise from I-10 but not that bad. If we were passing through the area again, we would stay here. The park is good for an overnight stop but there's not much in the area to keep us here longer than one night. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nothing spectacular about the park, but does have nice pull-throughs. Bathhouse is only for one person but was clean. Picked up satellite TV without a problem. Good place for an overnight. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Like the name says, its on a hilltop that has a great view to the west. Nice park, windy because of the location, but well maintained. Office staff is great and helpful. Make sure you stop at the entry to check in if after hours. Empty spots are plentiful, but their after hours check in desk provides spots they would prefer you use. A good experience and would definitely return. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are 4 truck stops within Fort Stockton and one is at the exit you need to get to the frontage road for access to this park.

In our opinion, the best RV park in Fort Stockton. Easy off/on I-10. Paved road to campground, hard packed gravel, level sites. Big rig friendly. Sparkling clean facilities. WiFi worked well. Set back far enough from the interstate that there was very little noise. Awesome view of the mountains in the distance and sunsets. We stay here every time we pass through Fort Stockton. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful view to the west, but windy on the hilltop. Good size sites, we stayed for a night, and would stay again. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Spacious gravel sites were long and wide. No cable and only 2-3 channels available with antenna. Small fenced in dog park was a long way from our site in the back of the park. Free wi-fi but I could never get it to work. Outside of town on the top of a hill. Never saw any staff members. Checked in upon entering park and dropped payment in box, very impersonal. Ok for a quick overnight. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a perfectly fine RV park, and certainly the nicest in Fort Stockton. We got a pull though site at the back of the park. Easy access, level and back from the highway. The front sites seem to be for longer term residents, and while there were plenty the park didn't have the "run down" look that often goes along with them. The owners live on site and are very friendly. We had good Wi-Fi while we were there, and our AT&T and Verizon worked well also. This is West Texas, so don't expect green grass and tall trees. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Good park for a one-night stop; easy on and off I-10. Sites are of adequate size and easy to access. The park is dry light-colored dirt and some gravel so there is lots of dust to be tracked in. No cable, but several channels could be pulled in on the antenna. I couldn't get Wi-Fi to work, even on the front porch of the office, until late at night. Clean pool with a nice pool deck. Clean individual bathroom/showers. Small laundry, reasonably-priced. Since the park is on a hill, you get a great view of the Texas sunsets. We would stay here again if passing through this area. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent park for an overnight stay or two. Very clean and roomy. There is nothing really extravagant about this park. It has a nice breeze because it is on a small hilltop. The views of the West Texas country are good. We have a large rig and had no problem getting into our site. The site was very level. Water pressure - 45 PSI. 50 amp power: Line 1 = 118V, Line 2 = 119V. Excellent satellite access. The owners were very friendly. All rigs in the park were newer and well kept. We didn't see any sign of permanent residents. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We only stayed here one night, and it wasn't a bad park. It was on gravel and had pull-through sites and decent rates. Our biggest complaint was both bathrooms were clean but there were a lot of ants all over the place in men's and woman's and my other complaint was horrible Internet, normally I don't use Internet as a complaint because most parks have bad Internet, however it says on the website that it works really good and it did for about an hour then I got booted off every time I connected. For me it was worse than most parks. They have a pool. I didn't have a chance to go in it so I will not rate it. Overall I would stay there again if I was passing through but not go out of my way to get there. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, friendly people. We saw a beautiful sunset, as you are indeed on a hilltop overlooking Fort Stockton. Clean and quiet. A bit tricky to get to, but the manager/woman on duty sent me a text with detailed driving directions, and we had no trouble at all. We would stay there again. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fort Stockton has quite a bit to see and do if you are interested in Western or Military history. The Fort itself has a nice museum featuring the role the Buffalo Soldiers played in the Indian Wars, there's a nice house museum, and a great coffee shop in the old downtown.

We stayed here one night as we were passing through on our way west. The site was nice and the park comfortable. People were quiet and respectful. There is no grass and the site was crushed stone, not concrete, but it worked. My favorite part of the park was the puppy park. It was a small area that was fenced off and I was able to let my dogs off the leash. They did have some grass in the puppy patch and another area to walk my dogs. I would stay here again. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a hard park to review. We only wanted a place to stop overnight, so this was a good choice. The electricity was good, water was good, which is all we need for overnight. People also seemed to be enjoying the pool. But, this park has one of the greatest dust levels we have ever experienced in any RV park. You really cannot drive over 3 MPH without raising a bunch of dust. We unhooked our car at the entrance to avoid getting dust all over it. A second issue it the location when there is a brisk wind. Being on a "hill top", the winds really whip through there at times. We ended up bringing in the bedroom slide to quiet the flapping noise of our slide out cover. But, for just a place to sleep, the $27 rate ($30/night less 10 percent for cash) had some real appeal. I would stay here again, my wife would not. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.
