Sites are 80', 10% cash discount, wide roads, easy I 10 access yet quiet. Large park with only about 1/2 dozen overnight spots. West Texas RV spot availability is directly related to the price of oil. When oils high, book ahead. When it's low, no need for reservations. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had stayed here 2 years ago, for a nite, enroute, and were very impressed with the park and lovely pool & grounds. Our recent stay was disappointing. There were a great many permanent residents & the overflow of junk that accompanied them. Our site was in an area that seemed thrown together with no definition between the sites...which were very close. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Level sites , but very dusty. Looks like the wind blows most of the time. Good hook ups. The town does not offer much which will cause me to either stay before or after Fort Stockton. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 1 night each on our way to and from Big Bend Nat. Park. The park was full with many long term oil workers but was neat and they were quiet. It is gravel and very dusty because it is west Texas after all, but the hookups are good. The laundry was clean and worked well. There was limited cell service, internet (none) and limited tv. The view was beautiful from the top of the hill. Follow the directions given by the owner when you reserve a spot cuz the GPS is not correct, then it is easy to find. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

The park was okay for what we paid. Nice sunset!! It's really the area that is compromised rather than the RV park. Wifi is not reliable. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

DON'T USE GPS OR GOOGLE. Use the directions the campground website. This is a perfect overnighter, long enough not to unhitch, easy navigation with super wide roads, and wide sites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

A big gravel parking lot on the top of a hill. Gravel access roads and sites with scattered young trees. Picnic table on a paver patio at each site. Low fence blocking view of neighbor's utility pedestal. Sites were level with small, but adequate spacing. No issues with big rig access. Power ok, did not use other utilities. No issues with satellite access. Campground wifi had good signal with adequate speed; Verizon was 2 bars with adequate speed; -Mobile was 1 bar with very slow speed. No recycle on site. Did not appear to be good road bike riding opportunities. We will overnight here again. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Don't rely on your GPS for directions to the campground from I-10; take a look at the campground website for specifics, instead. Good pull through site, level. Was escorted by the polite and helpful office lady. Highway noise was not an issue. Park is on the west edge of town, so quiet and peaceful. Good utility placement. Quite a few long term guests, but didn't see trashy sites. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent park for overnight stop. No shade but hey, it's West Texas. As the name says, it is on a hilltop which makes for a nice breeze. Nice views. There are a lot of oilfield workers but there was no noise at night. Some of the workers left around 6.30 AM but not bad. Maybe 1/4 mile from Interstate 10 so some noise from the interstate. I make a lot of trips that direction and will plan to stay there again. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access to the park and to site. Seems a fair number of permanant/seasonal workers but clean and kept up. Sites somewhat close (but not the closest I've ever been to. Level; able to leave toad hooked up. Hook-ups well situated. All gravel, no shade. Site does have small brick patio with a table. Enclosed dog run which I always think is a plus. Free wifi but did not use. Limited OTA TV - I got 3 latino channels and two week US. Satellite fine. Verizon LTE with 4 bars. Check in quick and easy. $27.00 reflects a cash discount - no other membership discounts. Did not use but pool area looked inviting. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park for an overnight. There are many permanent trailers here but they seem to be all working folks. The park is quiet. Full on sun but a nice breeze as they are on a hilltop. Would stay again. Near freeway. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is a dirt lot with hook-ups. Most sites are occupied by oil field workers from the surrounding area. They do have what appeared to be a nice pool and covered lounging area. Our site was a long, and, surprisingly, dead on level, pull-thru, which allowed up to keep the trailer and truck hooked-up. The utilities were well situated and worked as expected. No cable, but an easy DirecTV set-up. Easy access to I-10. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a sad town. Historically, one of the Forts on the route between San Antonio and El Paso, the otherwise attractive main street is nothing but vacant store fronts and the site of the Fort is windblown and ghostly. The main drag is full of economy hotels for the truck trade.

Stayed four nights. Owners were great to deal with and great on the phone. Discount if you pay in cash - that's a nice offering. Dust lot, but it's Texas so that's expected. In many of the spaces, they've made a big square from landscape stones and provided a picnic table for you. You at least have some outside space to hang out in without having your feet in the dust - I haven't seen that in many parks. Plus there was a little tree by ours so it even got shade. Spaces are fairly close. We were able to park our truck next to our fifth wheel though so definitely not as tight as other places. The overnighter pull-thru row of sites is wide so easy in/out, and we were able to park our second vehicle behind our RV. Once your overnighter neighbors left, the views to the east and west were great! Pretty sunsets. Cute decor around the front and office. Your hookups are on a little concrete pad with a light. Be sure to put in your awning if you leave your rig and at night - the wind would come up about every night (but it didn't turn the park into a dustbowl, thankfully). Had a few bars of AT&T LTE; didn't use their Wifi. We camped at Hilltop RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
