We stopped here because we just needed a place to be for the night, out here off I10 in West Texas as evening closed in. Management was friendly and guided us to our sites, but the park leaves something to be desired. We had full hookups and that all worked, WiFi was more imaginary than anything else, there is really nothing available on TV in the area (no fault of the park). Cell phone reception was good, pets are welcome. But the place is disheveled and crowded. It seems a mainly long term workers' camp, with a few stray travelers stopping in. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Max_well,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry that you caught us in our overhaul phase! Sure has been a lot of work for us to turn this park around since we purchased it a couple months ago. Overall the park is doing wonderful and continuing to beautify/improve everything. I'm sure when you come back on your next trip through, you'll see quite a difference and maybe toss some more stars for a job well done. We shoot for 5star service, unfortunately, didn't achieve that this time. Have safe travels and we'll see you next time!

Thanks,
Ramsey

The $15 rate was with our PA. For a one night stay it is barely OK, as it is a quiet park located a couple of miles off the interstate, but not worth any longer. Not much of a park, but it is under new management. Lots of permanent RVers with older trailers and fifth wheels. Friendly at check-in with promises of improvement over time. However it will take quite a bit to make this a nice park to stay for more than one night. Full hookups with free Wi-fi. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Michael Kibler,

We have our work cut out for us, don't we? It's going great so far! Residents are staying so long I had to develop 40 more RV sites. Once the cafe opens up that'll throw some extra perks in there. Have safe travels and we'll see you next time!

Thanks,
Ramsey

What can I say? No trouble with utilities. Spaces not too close. Restrooms/showers fairly clean. Laundry room filthy. There is no way to avoid the HUGE pot holes in all the roads. In plain English: the place is a dump. Also overpriced @ $350/mo. Would not stay here again. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Eric Ramsey, owner at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) responded to this review

Nancy Parker,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I’m glad the utilities were to your satisfaction and that you enjoyed our spacious sites. Our bathhouse is going to be completely renovated soon, along with the laundry room. We’re getting rid of those old machines and bringing in brand new ones. As for the potholes, I completely understand your frustration. We’re working on getting all of those filled in immediately. This park has been a great project we started on in August, and I guarantee on your next trip to Fort Stockton many of your concerns will have been addressed. I would love for you to stop by again and see all the progress that is being made. Have safe travels!

Thanks,
Ramsey

The woman that checked us in was a bit rude and passive aggressive. She admitted she wasn't happy about having to work on Easter. (Not my problem, lady!) As past reviews have stated, this park is just an open field with hook ups. All hookups worked fine. Had to level with blocks which was a bit tricky due to holes and uneven ground. Our site was a combo of dirt, rocks and grass clumps. Roads are a combo of gravel and dirt. We had a thunderstorm while there but never lost power. No frills but a good value at $12, with Passport America discount, for a quick overnight stop. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

When we checked in the office staff was not pleasant. We are new to PA and we only have the computer printout of our membership and that seemed to upset her that we didn't have our "card".

The park was older and needed some TLC. This was probably a nicer park in the 1970s. We were charged $14 for the night. We drove to Walmart and counted 17 campers parked there. Too bad they didn't go to Parkview Mobile Home and RV Park. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed there overnight and keep going back only because of price and convenience. No heat in bathrooms, Cold last night, 27 degrees and charged extra $2 because we used electric heater. 1st spot we were assigned electric would not came on in trailer because it failed the surge protector test. 2nd one worked. Park is run down and not well maintained. Lady at desk is cordial but not friendly. No TV stations in area and no cable. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

The pros: Good power and water pressure, quiet and at $14 a night with our Passport America discount the place is okay for one night. The cons: Roads are in desperate need or repair. Drive very slow. The WiFi is pretty much unusable. You get what you pay for. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Good for an overnight. Needs a lot of cleaning up. Lots of trash on ground. Laundry building and bath house looks terrible, but I didn't go in them. Hookups were good. No cable TV anymore as its all digital now and you have to have a box for it.

Price is right so don't expect a luxury park. If you want that, there is a new one off I-10 for $30.00 a night. I would stay here again. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Camped here one night in a 40' diesel pusher fully self contained - no need for campground amenities. Chose this one based on previous reviews and rate sounded good. Maybe June is in-season rate so $7 higher vs. May. Mostly full of long-term oil field worker rigs. The electrical nightmare hanging from telephone poles was a bit scary. Everything worked, however, and we could just fit our rig and tow car in the pull-through site without unhooking. Sites are dirt/gravel and semi level. Park is quite unkempt with some trash on ground and weeds overgrown, but if you're trying to travel on a budget then this works. It's 2 miles off the freeway and away from downtown so fairly quiet. Not good for kids. Would not stay here again. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Forget any bad reviews for this park. It is just what many of us ask for as a place to stay overnight. If you often drive I-10 through West Texas you know that there aren't many places to stay and many of them are pricey for what you get. This park you get just what you pay for - and, for us, we are glad that we are able to break up our "drive across Texas" for a measly $13. $11 Passport America, $2 since we require 50 amp and if you need cable (there is no reception over the antenna!!) it is another $2.

Wi-Fi is free and worked well for us.The park has about 100 spaces, about 30 of them occupied by monthly rigs (lots of pickups that look like worker trucks) and the handful of overnighters are spread throughout the center of the park. It is just a gravel field, full of goatheads (remember you're in West Texas) but it is easy to access from I-10 and it is quiet. Way quieter than your typical RV park. Not even a train! I have always felt safe in this park. The spaces are pull-throughs and our 41 foot motorhome fits fine with our car attached. EZin and EZout. We would stay here again. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Paid the extra $2 for 50 amp service. The internal roads are rough gravel, the sites are gravel, long, close together and fairly level, facilities worked well, site was satellite friendly. Staff were friendly, park WiFi did not work, No T-Mobile cell service. The park was reasonably quiet. We would stay here again. The man in the office was miserable and rude. We did not feel secure at all in this park all night. We heard 6 gun shots in the distance and there are a lot of loud vehicles driving in and out of the mobile home area behind the RV's all night. The cable TV was excellent, WiFi was very weak. The place is very run down, full of weeds, and the facilities did not look usable, but we cannot comment on them. We would not stay there again, even at the Passport America rate. This is a PA. We had 50A, FHU, long p/thru sites were gravel & dirt, roads were gravel. There was cable that had lots of channels & WIFi that worked good. The park is not the best, a lot of perments there, park was quiet, ok for an overnight stay. we would stay here again if just coming through for overnight. After finding the park (GPS was trying to send us 50miles south.) the park was not bad. Some potholes to maneuver around. Staff was helpful. Sites are gravel and dirt. La natural for the area. We asked for no cable and were given a site. We had hooked up and were getting ready to put slides out. Hubby decided he would like cable for the evening. When I called to ask to move, the staff person huffed and puffed like we were putting a big effort on her. I went to pay for the cable ($2) and again she acted like it was such an effort to change a number on the form. Plenty of sites were open. Grass around the electric pole, sewer, and water hookup was very overgrown. We only stayed one night, so the price was right.
