Best place to stay with your RV when visiting the Texas Hill Country. Very clean and well maintained park, with wonderful staff. The owners and the staff will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Good sized sites with plenty of room for awnings and slides. Power is clean and steady, water pressure is good, limited cable service and free wifi. Wifi is typical for an RV park, sometimes slow and designed to be able to check you emails and that's about all. Close to area attractions, very easy access to Fredericksburg and right on the "Hwy 290 Winery Trail". Our rate is based on a month long stay including our electricity fee. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a really nice site with good spacing to others. We asked for a receiver satellite friendly site. Many have trees. It is a few minutes to drive into Fredericksburg. There are two wine tasting rooms within a moderate walk and many more within a short drive. The park had a nice dog run. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Very convenient to beautiful and fun Fredericksburg. Well maintained park. good bathrooms. Nice perk-the chickens running free and the penned longhorns, quail and other wildlife next door. Nice pool. Site was long and level. Good, wide access roads. Lots of shade. Very quiet. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Decent park. If your rig is tall, don't go in at night. Taking the route to my site, one huge limb would have destroyed the roof of my rig. While the park employee was waving me forward, I stuck my head out and looked back. Stopped just inches from tearing off the ladder. Had to back up and pull through a space that was luckily vacant at the time to get to my spot. Cable was not usable at all. Did not use the WiFi. Once at the spot, nice and level with table.

This is the second KOA that I have had trouble with low limbs. For such a highly ranked campground, do they not realize that many of our rigs are over 13' tall? We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Grape Creek winery is great. German restaurants in town are both really good (Altdorf Biergarten and Auslander Biergarten). Get the 290 shuttle service. Well worth the money. No set schedules, go wherever you want, but no worries about drinking and driving.

We stay in Fredericksburg several times a year and always enjoy this park. The spaces are large and there are lots of trees; the pool is always clean and refreshing; everything is clean and the staff is friendly. We enjoy the flock of roosters and chickens and the field of Longhorns when we take walks. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of wineries close by, downtown shopping within 10 minutes.

Excellent park. Gravel sites most have plenty of room. We stay here when we are in the hill country. Good location for visiting Johnson City, Luckenbach, Pedernales State Park, Many wineries and a wonderful wild flower farm. Staff is very accommodating and helpful.

The park has two sides divided by a wet weather creek (yes Virginia there is a bridge). The back side has large trees to provide shade from the Texas summer sun. The front--- not so much. Still a great place to relax. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy in/out from highway. Interior roads well maintained and easily navigable. Long pull-through sites. We wouldn't have had to unhook the toad except we were staying for several days to explore the area. Our site had larger than usual gravel stones with wooden borders that helped keep the gravel contained. Some sites had trees for shade but we requested an open site so we could get satellite. The Wi-Fi was strong and worked well our entire stay. We would definitely return. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit Grape Creek winery if you go to any of the local wineries. Don't go to the Catfish Haven restaurant. The German Bakery and Restaurant had good German sausages.

Be advised that if you are expecting the Internet or Cable services to work, you will be unhappy. Cable was virtually unusable for 4 days, as was the internet. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Frederickburg and the wildflowers north of the city were spectacular. Great, but expensive shopping. Great restaurants. Great people.

I had a "premium" lot which was very nicely located with nice scenery but it was gravel (remember the $45) and the WiFi was nonexistent. I asked about the WiFi and was told there were probably a lot of people on line. The lower premium lots were nice and level but the other sites were not MH friendly. Lots of tires off the ground. TT and 5th wheels no problem. A friendly place just over priced but it is a KOA. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring your own "hot" spot. See the hill country.

Nice spread out KOA. Quite a few trees in the park provide some shade. Our site was long and wide enough for our motorhome and towed vehicle with some to spare. Our site was level enough, I did see a site here and there that had some blocks up to level up tires. Wifi was spotty on our end, but phone service was fine and I have unlimited data; additionally quite a few local and national cable channels to choose from as well. The price is a little high but not bad. Everything was kept up, showers, grounds, etc. Seems like over the last 10 years everyone that likes grapes has opened a winery in or around Fredericksburg. Staying at this KOA puts you right in the middle of them, not to mention just a few miles from Lukenbach. We visited a few wineries and a distillery, the distillery was way more interesting. Lots to do in downtown, shopping, browsing, restaurants, or just people watching. Lazy days are right here. We'll be back. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Fredericksburg shopping and eating. Wineries everywhere. Museums as well.

The owners couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. We needed to arrive earlier & stay longer & they were able to work with us. It is in a great location to visit Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg & the wineries. Very pet friendly with lots of room for dogs. Lots of big sites, but we weren't able to get one of them. Lots of trees & nice sunsets. We would have liked a fire pit at our site. Cable was just OK. We also could have done without the roosters & chickens! We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We came for the wineries & the wildflowers & they did not disappoint us! This is a dog friendly area.

They have you sign a contract that if anyone sees your dog poop and you don't clean it up, they will charge a clean up fee no questions asked. I've never see this before in all the 50-100 KOA's we've been to. The park is nice, with fairly level gravel sites (I've seen more level). The price was good. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The rules of over 5 MPH and you get kicked out of the place and the "Poop law", that most anyone could lie about and they could make a easy $20 dollars is odd at best. And no I didn't have a problem with either of this issues.

Our site was large, with a huge speading live oak tree and a little lawn for our dogs. The staff was very courteous; when we arrived our campsite wasn't available because the previous occupant had a slideout malfunction. They put us in another site temporarily and helped them resolve the warrantly issue and get them on their way, while checking with us to keep us apprised of the situation. For a KOA this place was roomy. We are 50+ year old empty nesters, but did not notice any "anti-child" issues. There were plenty of kids there having a great time and we were happy to see it. The rules about no unaccompanied minors and all children needing to be at their campsites after sunset is just plain common sense, especially with large RVs arriving after dark. Very dog friendly; our prissy greyhound even approved of the accomodations! We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Avoid Fredericksburg on weekends/holidays/Spring Break; it has become unbelievably congested now. Having lived in Germany for 6 years, my experience is that the German restaurants in town are not very authentic if you stray away from the wurst menus, but Fredericksburg does its wurst very well! Also, if you want to climb Enchanted Rock go early in the morning. The park closes when its parking lot fills, and you will be stuck waiting on that ranch road.

Very good KOA with exceptionally clean bathrooms and good functioning utilities. The campground has a nice layout and feels spacious. The WiFi works good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, there is a nice fenced-in dog run. Some longhorn cattle and chickens add interest. Great place to stay in the Hill Country right on US 290 but far enough away to eliminate a road noise problem. We will stay here again. We camped at Frederickburg, Texas KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fredericksburg has some great wineries, excellent restaurants (good German food) and interesting historic sites. Be sure to check out the Alamo Springs Cafe, rated as serving the best burgers in Texas. Becker Winery has some good wines at reasonable prices and William & Chris vineyards feature high quality wines.
