This is an older park, but we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The sites are gravel but level. We parked in a full hook-up site that included cable. The park also had wi-fi with a strong signal. The sites are a little close together, but there is nice space between the rows of sites. We appreciated the two fenced off-leash areas for dogs. The location is great for running around Fredericksburg. This our second time to stay here. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Fredericksburg is known for the many wineries that surround the community. There is a wonderful German heritage here along with interesting shopping, the Nimitz history museum and nearby state parks. An HEB grocery store, Walgreens, hospital and gas station are nearby or within one-two miles of Oakwood RV Resort. We've been coming here for years and still haven't seen it all!

As many others have reported the sites here are way too close. We opted for a premium site, site "D" and even this site did not adequately fit our 40' motorhome. The depth was ok, but our drivers side slide was completely over the neighbors patio. On the passenger side slide we had to move the motorhome forward (sacrificing parking area) so that we could even open our outside TV compartment. By the time our passenger side slides were out and with our neighbors slide out we could not sit comfortably on the remaining patio. Even getting to the back of the coach was difficult because there was a shrub in the way. Whoever decided to use shrubs in lieu of trees has never really camped in an RV park. And speaking of trees, there were none, there are plenty in what I would assume the older part, but the section we stayed in had very few. At our neighbor's location, the sewer line was coming up in the middle of the slab.

Our traveling companions had one of the premium pull through sites and it was way worse than ours. The crew has to spend an inordinate amount of time helping folks park because a few inches to the right or the left makes a huge difference.

We will not be staying here again. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Parking is very tight and your rig is very close to the ones next to you. If you have a camper, then you'll be parking perpendicular to your rig which might keep the person in front or behind you from having enough swing room to pull out or in. Folks who work there are very friendly and helpful. Meeting room is adequate and clean. We'll probably try and stay somewhere else next time. Really like the municipal park, but there is no rally room. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park to stay a night or a couple of weeks. It is well maintained, quiet and close to downtown Fredericksburg. Our military RV club held a rally here this past week. Everyone was very impressed with the park. They provided us with a great meeting room for our use the entire week. The entire staff was very nice, very polite and very helpful. Special thanks to a couple ladies for all they did for us that week. The park WiFi is one of the best I have found in my 4 years of traveling and it is Free.

The only cons are the sites were built years ago when coaches were much smaller. Our big rigs were a little cramped and the hedges between many sites made it difficult to gain access to our basement compartments, use our awnings or walk around the coach. The many trees, while providing shade, also block the use of your satellite TV however they have excellent cable TV. There is not much that can be done to fix either of these issues. Just FYI if you have a large coach: this is still a great campground to visit but you will be a little cramped. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The National Museum of the Pacific War is a must see when visiting this area. There are a lot of wineries along hwy 290 and lots of shopping and restaurants along Main Street. Fredericksburg has a lot to offer for all ages.

Stayed here as part of an RV rally group from Albuquerque, NM. The rally sites are a bit close together but okay since we were next to members of our group. The dog walking area is nice but quite a bit a +way from our site and my dogs were not able to hold their business long enough to get to the proper area. The rally meeting room was a nice but on the small side for our group. The bathroom/shower room was very nice and well-kept as was the laundry facility. Location is convenient but the car was needed to get to grocery, Wal-Mart, and downtown shopping areas. We enjoyed Wildseed Farms and driving country roads to see wildflowers growing on shoulders and in fields. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We chose this park because we stayed here three years ago. Management and staff are very helpful with information on local area attractions. Wi-Fi is available, but we didn't use it. Cable TV is available and channel selection was extensive. The bathrooms and showers seemed to be cleaned only every other day. The shower stalls have good room for changing. Many of the sites are shaded with mature oak trees. All of the sites had a concrete patio pad with a picnic table. Some sites have fire pits and the park provides firewood. There is a HEB grocery store within a mile of the park and several gas stations close-by with diesel fuel. We will stay here again when we visit the Fredericksburg area. Enchanted Rock State park is 19 miles north of Fredericksburg and is a great hiking location. There are 40+ wineries in the area and more being built. The National Museum of the Pacific War is a must see!

Good location, level, gravel sites. Large pool area. The only issue I had was the landscaping--there was a large hedge type plant in the middle of our site which interfered with opening the bay doors. They also discontinued their relationship with Passport America. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Rate cited is with a Passport America discount (use any day of the week) and Good Sam. We were located on row next to pool. Long enough but not wide enough. Our entire row was empty (except for us) and they put a motorhome right next to us. His slides went over our patio area. Wondered when they might mow. Dog area at one end of park, so you want to be close to that. There is an extremely bright light installed by the pool house and over our site. Kept me up the first night, used towels over windows next night. We stayed for 6 nights so no big problems. Laundry room hot and temps were pleasant when we were there. I'd stay again. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were warmly greeted by the registration staff. We found the campsite to be very tight. If you want some feeling of "your own space" this might not be the place for you. There are some permanent residents there, or so it seemed, and some of their sites and equipment could use some upkeep. The only other comment I would have is that we were at the opposite end of the campsite from the dog walk area, we are not young and have some physical limitations, so even if you clean up after your dog (which everyone should) there is no grass except for the dog walk area. So keep that in mind when you book if this pertains to you. Cable was good, WiFi worked, site was level. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed in one of the premium pull-thru sites, as did our friends in the site next to ours. Contrary to other reviews, our site was spacious, came with a picnic table sitting on a large concrete pad, and had trees on both sides to provide shade. Quiet location, about five minute drive from downtown Fredericksburg. Clean restrooms & showers. GREAT dog walk area. Added bonus for us was the park is adjacent to Street Dreams of Texas, a business buying/selling high performance cars & trucks displayed in a large (60+ vehicles?) indoor showroom. We would stay at Oakwood again. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sites are dirt with small concrete patio area. Way too close to next site. Very difficult to park big rig. Sewer connection directly next to patio of neighbor site. Our neighbor's slideout actually hung over our patio. Neatly trimmed bushes separate sites barely leave enough room for slideouts and make it impossible to get into storage area beneath motorhome. There are some larger sites if you want to pay higher price. Would not stay again. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Our RV group had a small rally here. We chose to park in the trees, so weekly rate was higher ($258), which we felt was a bit pricey. Site was gravel and level. They offer NO discounts on weekly rates. Our space was easy to get in and out of, even with our tow attached. Close in to town and all the activities that Fredericksburg offers. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here with our RV club. This is a nice park in a great location. Mostly pull-through sites, but the sites are a bit close together as they are in most older parks. The management is in the process of revitalizing the bathrooms, but they were clean and usable. Good power, excellent Wi-Fi and cable TV (both free) and good Verizon 3G service. We camped at Oakwood RV Resort in a Motorhome.
